Challenge #03979-J327: Soft Hearted

Human to furry deathworlder.

"Can I give you a hug?"

Deathworlder to Human

"oh... kay...?"

Human hugs deathworlder with tears sliding down their face.

"Thank you, I needed this." -- Anon Guest

Ty looked down towards the slowly growing wet patch on her chest. The Ships' Human, Seph, was breathing erratically. His hands tangled in and clinging to her fur. Even though Ty had never taken Companion training, she had read the most important parts of the manual. So she petted Human Seph's hair.

"There, there," she cooed uncertainly. "There, there..."

Human Seph uttered a series of incomprehensible syllables into Ty's fur.

Ty urgently paged the nearest Companion and kept cooing, "There, there," with increasing nervousness. Human Seph continued to not make sense, clinging and sobbing and squeaking incoherently.

Wednesday, Date Night, Busy Day, and Nonsense

I have the Offerings to make, five chapters to read [I just finished Chapter 345 of A Devil's Tale btw] some plots to work out, and we're going to visit a new place tonight. Yay.

Beloved is five chapters behind where I'm writing and I have a few ideas with the proceedings and eventual war. With maybe a side of Curse Your Sudden But Inevitable Betrayal for the traitors.

I'll see how things go as they develop. I've made some decisions, so

Challenge #03978-J326: Fel Fortunes

My fate is to be a demon king. Just like my father, and his father before him. But I don't want to be a king. I am a demon, but I just want to live a peaceful life. Kind wizard, what do I do? Can you help me change my fate? -- Anon Guest

[AN: There is a difference between Actual Demons, who would never say this thing, and Hellkin, who are called demons by the ignorant public]

Tuesday, Patreon, Reads, and Other Tricks

Finally moved on to the next tutorial for Stencyl, and they have fucking MOVEMENT CODE for the mobs on the NEXT GORRAM PAGE.

...fuck...

I'll see what copying that code does for my extant Invaders game. Later today.

Once again, I woke up super early, but I at least had the sense to do my stretchies before setting to committing literature.

I still borked my wrists :P

BUT I have made some progress with Stencyl and shall be making an effort with

Challenge #03977-J325: Out of the Frying Pan

"Well, that was stupid."

"Hey it worked didn't it? We're alive aren't we?"

"Yeah.... but still...."

"If it worked, and we got out, then it wasn't stupid."

"I guess....." -- Anon Guest

"It also depends how one defines 'out'," said Tordd as ze looked out the windows to their landing ground. "True, we have survived the crash, but we are also trapped in a lifepod on something of a Deathworld."

"Okay," said Human Raf, already rooting about in the compartments for whatever

Monday, Foundry Reads and Progress

Thanks to Internet Outage, I had a depresso nap and ended up writing chapter 344 of A Devil's Tale between 1 and 4 AM.

Yeah, I keep messing up my sleep cycle.

I forgot my stretchies and borked my wrists doing the story for the Foundry's next prompt. Whoops. A contributing factor may also be writing an entire chapter at BF in the morning. Double whoops.

And I have yet to engage in my normal offerings.

Let's get on with those. Starting

Challenge #03976-J324: A Cup of Relief

One leaf is brought in a small, black box. Sweet and flavorful, it has but one purpose. They are suffering. The leaf is placed in water, the tea is made. Their suffering will be alleviated and they will sleep, painlessly, forever. They knew this when asking for the leaf. Anything was better than the pain.

For those who suffer the most, for those who beg for it, there is the Last Tea. It

Sunday, No Streams

I enjoyed most of the show, yesterday. We all went to see Spamalot and... yeah. It wouldn't be Monty Python if it didn't contain something to offend everyone. Same with taking the joke WAAAYYY too long. It's the style and I could deal with most of it.

Beloved wasn't impressed with that and I can understand it.

But a fun day was had by most and I got lots of kisses and cuddles in and that will have to do.

Not like

Challenge #03975-J323: Try Though They Might...

Sofflox is a beautiful, but oddly deadly - to non-natives anyhow, havenworld. Before, people had to wear full livesuits to leave the protected areas due to the spores of that world. Thanks to a couple of scientists born on that world, and human researchers, they come up with a special, clear, full-face mask that filters out all of the harmful stuff, so a person CAN visit without the full suit. It's still a little annoying, but at least a little more comfortable.

Saturday, Parkrun and Celebrations

Beloved is another year older this very day, and we are going to see Spamalot this afternoon as part of the festivities.

Which leaves me very few hours to get my offerings out there and to get organised for the outing.

I still have no idea as to whether I shall be able to do the VTRRPG stream or the story stream tomorrow. Time, and my personal battery levels, will tell.

I'm already pretty washed out from the heat of parkrun this

Challenge #03974-J322: Proof Against Humans

The ship with some ship humans encounter a very frightening problem as the pirate ship comes barrelling toward them. The pirates are humans, too. -- Anon Guest

Edges are dangerous. People or things either get cut by them or fall off them. They have ways of causing harm. The same remains with the Edge Territories. Here there be hives of scum and villainy. Here there be pirates.

Here, also, there be Humans.

Everyone venturing into the Edge knows that it's best to

Friday, PLNs and Crimbo

I definitely have to round up a ham. Not a huge ham, but a nicely-sized one anyway. There's only going to be four of us. According to news so far.

Knowing us, we'll still have plenty if anyone else turns up.

Mum's "okay" with the flatbreads, but I don't think they're the winner I wanted them to be.

Ah well. Live and learn. Best tried and failed than never tried at all. Something has to win eventually.

I have stretchies yet to

Challenge #03973-J321: Sufficiently Enforced Motivation

I ordered my people to send OUR product out disguised as THEIR product. They caught us, then those BRUTES descended. It would take longer to describe what they DID to me before they threw me in that cage and to the CRC than it took them to do it. I'm terrified of chocolate now.

Honestly? After what they did? The minor dismemberment was a relief. It was only pain. It wasn't as relentless as

Thursday, Tech Support Run

MeMum needs a few things, which always includes shopping and tech support. So a large portion of today shall be spend going hither, thither, and yon.

Expect my offerings in the evening.

My findings from the yoghurt flatbread experiment:

  1. One household's version of "medium heat" is different to another's. Tread carefully. [In my case, each bread took fucking ages to cook and turned out medium brown instead of lightly scorched]
  2. It is far easier to transfer rolled out flatbreads to your pan

Challenge #03972-J320: A Debt Repaid

Mr. Sunshine was on a terraformed station helping to destroy it. Why? The dereggers that ran it had used child-slaves as their "cleaning crew". An old "friend", a level 2 deathworlder, is stuck in a fight with deregger security trying to get themself, and several of these children, to their ship so they can escape, but they need a help in the fight.
