Wednesday, Feeling Much Better

Good sleep and lots of hydration helped me shake off the lurgi nonsense. So today is going to include shopping as well as my general offerings.

I'm trying to branch out, get my works seen - or heard - by other audiences. It took me a while, but I've found some arenas that might welcome my short stories and I'm trying them out one by one. I might dig up one of the older ones I'm proud of for a scifi podcast I've found, but that's got to wait for the spare hours.

Which I might not have today.

It's time to go out and gather stuff and things.

Offerings after I get back with them.

Challenge #04482-L098: One Good Turn

Only sheer willpower allowed this young human to drag this very badly injured elf and hir gnome friend to safe shelter. Despite their own injuries and exhaustion so profound they could barely even see straight anymore, they had only one thought. They could not let these two die. It was only after applying bandages they collapsed to the floor, and blacked out. -- Anon Guest

The wall of water had come out of nowhere. Lilly was fortunate to have grabbed a log

Tuesday, Patreon, PLNs and Embuggerances

I started this morning with trip-hammer sneezing and an asthma attack that the preventer is only just now dealing with. Then I had to confirm that a chair in our house really had to be thrown out because it had mould.

It did, and it did have to be thrown out. I enlisted Mayhem for help, had to clear a path [it's a big chair], and bent my thumbnail backwards in the process. Ow.

And I have PLNs to go shopping today.

Challenge #04481-L097: Place of Special Interest

You find them in odd places, people clustered in groups, armed with note books or 'guides to'. Focusing on what seems like nothing in particular or hovering at railway station on spots near the tarmac at airports. "Spotters", "Twitchers", eager to see or spot something rare. Planes, birds, rare engines. -- She Who Knits

There was a shelter-house at the crossroads. Generally a place for travelers to find relief from the weather. They were expected to restock the firewood and any long-term

Monday, Back in Business!

I have my compy back at last and now I can focus on the offerings. The backup reads went well and I got props for a "female gaze" moment in one of the reserve stories I had for the event.

Now that the compy is back in place, I have to defend my keyboard from the cats. Because removal and restoration stirred up my desk debris.

This is only slowing me down. I'll be getting on to the offerings shortly. Of the

Challenge #04480-L096: One Thing in Common

Interest groups, they need somewhere to meet, and talk and do their thing. ranging from 'Stitch and Bitch' in a friendly coffee shop, through small rooms and spots in Public Libraries even 'the equivalent of 'Car Boot meets' Some one or being who shares your interests and sometimes has stuff to swap or sell or you just prop each other up. -- She Who Knits

Sunday, Plans Gang Aft Agley

I was going to take a leisurely morning and tune into AMothintheArchive's story-reading stream, do my wrist stretchies, and see if I could actually unriddle the workings of Zhrythm at last.

Then I tried to start my main compy and got an embuggerance.

So my plans to have an early night and run a game are shattered. My plans to make my offerings and tool around with things are also in shards. Now I have to get dressed, go place, and do

Challenge #04479-L095: A Safe Space

Some children were playing hide and seek and one ended up in the king's private offices without permission by mistake. But the king, despite the child's fear, didn't get mad. He did suggest safer areas to play though. -- Anon Guest

Whitekeep Castle was large, labyrinthine, and full of secrets. It was also full of staff taking care of it. Some lived there, true, but their accommodations were much less impressive than the King's. The one thing they all had in common

Saturday, Parkrun and Bread

I don't have to get up early tomorrow, so I have time to bake. Yay. With all good fortune, I should have bread and be able to face tomorrow.

Beloved and I still haven't found the end of Book 5.

Whilst I wait for bread milestones, I am going to get brave and fling a thing at someone. And fiddle around with Zrhythm to see if I can make it go.

I can do this. I have the technology. I can at

Challenge #04478-L094: Respected Goals

They went to the gym and many there mocked them for appearing so weak. Then they showed what they were capable of. -- Anon Guest

They came to work out. To get big. To get cut. To be intimidating so that nobody messed with them. To get all the girls and impress other boys. So when one entered with a frame like a toast rack on stilts, there was some low laughter amongst the workout machines. Guy like that wouldn't last two

Friday, Can I be Brave?

There's a lot of emotional effort in sending a book off on a pitch. Not limited to the sheer anxiety surrounding sending it off. But I've got to throw it out there if I want someone to pick it up.

And I do want someone to pick it up.

This is the one thing I'm good at, and I should get paid to do it.

I'll get on with the offerings first. Then I try to get brave.

Wish me luck.

Challenge #04477-L093: Instructions Unclear

Each human has their own fitness level. Don't judge all by the few you have met. And remember, everything in moderation, even getting into better shape. -- Anon Guest

Humans were supposed to be unstoppable. They were meant to be relentless. Witnessing one sitting and wheezing was alarming. The mobility aids were even more alarming. The exo-frame and the cane in combination made Kar initially believe this might be a low-grav Human adjusting to Standard Gravity. They were sitting on a bench

Thursday, Finally at Rest

I don't have to go place and do thing, today.

Which means that I might have a chance to fool around with a thing. But it's more likely that I'll be spending some selfish time on entertainment.

Procrastination is my copilot.

And it really shouldn't be.

I should re-pitch Adapting and figure out what I'm doing next. By the time Adapting is ghosted by PS Literary, Clockwork Souls should be out of slush pile purgatory. I can flick Clockwork Souls at the

Challenge #04476-L092: Temporary Apprentice

A human teen has been following a hellkin around town for some time now.

"Why are you following me, human? I'm not doing anything wrong!"

Um...I...um .. sorry but..I...c...can... you t... teach me to d...do magic better? P.... please?

Wednesday, Messed Up Morning

Here's my day so far:

1AM - Wake up despite my best efforts to remain asleep
2AM - text chat with Beloved as she was getting ready for bed
4-ish AM - return to slumber
6AM - panicked phone call from MeMum about the charging level in her laptop and how the power connection wasn't working. Immediate attempt to achieve cogniscence and preparation for hauling ass and solving said tech issue
7AM - Another urgent phone call from MeMum explaining that she'd
