Tuesday, New Developments and Patreon

Beloved is going back to the office today, and I was not given 24 or 48 hours notice about that. So much for my nebulous plns to keep her company.

There is another expert-go-round tomorrow so I shall be chauffeur, escort, and entertainment for the duration.

Today is blackout day. The day in which the power company is going to shut down a neighbourhood to remove a dead possum make some essential maintenance happen.

When that happens, I shall not have internets. So my Patreon posts may be slightly delayed.

I can try my best with my lappy and the phone as a hotspot, but please understand that that may not be up to snuff.

Anyway. I need to get on with as much as I possibly can before the possum gets there. Let's go.

Challenge #03851-J199: The Wolf at the Door

InterNutter, you're right, this would make a good prompt.

Chain, still in therapy and being monitored by security, constantly hid behind the security officer any time someone raised their voice or appeared angry for some reason. It was obvious the security was seen as a comfort. Rather than protecting others from Chains, protecting Chains from their constant fear.

One would think that Security Officers would be wearing full battle-rated livesuits, whilst being

Monday, Disorganised Today...

I need to draw a duck. I need to write at least one chapter.

Just so I have content for my Patrons.

Because Tale Foundry cancelled, I don't have a story for them. Though I do have something for a different writing contest. I just need to double-check the limits and cook up anything extra if necessary.

I might add the extra anyway because I do have some spare ideas to add for the fun of it. And because I know I

Challenge #03850-J198: This is Not a Place of Honour

Gikka has gotten into the bad habit of sticking her hands where they don't belong. Something shiny ends up being something that needs fast treatment, and faster prayers, to save her from losing that hand. Sometimes even a thief needs to learn to be prudent. -- Lessons

Certain words, chained together in a specific way, are a guarantee of doom. In this case, it was Gikka peering into a crevice and saying, "Hey there's something shiny in there!"

Wraithvine said, "It should

Sunday, Smouldering Holiday

I got that odd pre-burnout depression mixed with Asthma Brand no-air panic attack going on, so I'm going to line up the treat food and spend the rest of the day in bed and watching garbage.

I have all the post-medication signs that I should have done a nebuliser dose sooner. Including:

  • Pins and needles in the extremities
  • Tinnitus
  • Dizzy spells that are more like the entire grimoire
  • General wibbly wobblyness that means I should probably steady myself on stable objects for

Challenge #03849-J197: Liminal Encounters

As Jeremy walks though the abandoned pizzeria only accompanied by the hollowed footsteps and the memories of the forgotten place, he pause to stare at the empty stage of where they once were. So full of joys, such fond memories. Suddenly there was a gust of wind slamming the doors to the entrance shut. Jeremy rush to the front of the pizzeria. Locked. His spine tingling as if someone, something was staring at him. The stage behind the teen didn’t feel

Saturday, Parkrun and Game PLNs

Whoopsydoodles, I forgot to work on the blog before setting off towards today's story.

Successful parkrun, today. Beloved walked, and had to slow down because OW, fractured arm. She didn't take her sling, which she still needs when doing a lot of moving about.

Derp de derp derp, my love.

Something we will remember for the next time.

We have to wrap that lovely lady in cotton wool.

The three of us managed to get Miss Chaos moving faster than a taffy-esque

Friday, Unfuckening and Chat

I'm going to write my daily tale [and this blog, natch] before I set myself the task of cleaning the yuck out of the catio.

I have already made and consumed The Bikkie.

I have already done the meme in the Fediverse.

The only offering left is the daily tale.

I may stir myself towards a duck, today. I may do some work on a map. I may even write or contribute to a chapter.

Chapter count: About to commence Chapter 298

Challenge #03848-J196: Fit the Environment

They had been a CEO, but thanks to an exploding sun, their empire was ruined. They, grudgingly, allowed the CRC to rescue their living resources as they were not QUITE as heartless as some of their ilk. But man, they'd never been this tired, their feet never hurt this much, they'd not worked this hard before. Is manual labor really this harsh? They have a lot of thinking to do. -- Anon Guest

Everyone starts the same in the Alliance. You get

Challenge #03847-J195: Shadow Strategy

"You owe me."

"I knew it.... what's the price?"

"Never EVER let me hear you calling yourself weak ever again."

..."bu...but I...."

"You are NOT weak, it's time you realized that." -- Anon Guest

Lessons had been going on for a year. On schedule or off schedule, Master Kosh always seemed to have the time. Even when he was in the middle of making cheese.

Every failure seemed to grate against Ami's spirits. She desperately wanted to be better at everything,

Thursday, Cyclone Headache and Game Nite

I awoke with a cyclone headache, which is still persisting despite the painkillers I took with my coffee. It's VTTRPG [Virtual Table Top Role Playing Game] night and the further adventures of the chaos crew are bound to contain lots more dicking around.

We spent at least half of last sesh adapting to the new Owlbear, and this is the crew that takes two hours to cross a bridge.

We have fun.

The painkillers are starting to make my head fade from

Challenge #03846-J194: Sharp Choice

A being tries to tempt Wraithvine with a special wish, a test. Their ultimate dream would come true. But is the cost of an innocent soul worth it? -- Anon Guest

Immortals are truly hard to tempt, especially if they've been at it long enough. The wants of mortality fade away as time renders them irrelevant.

Mortals die. Oceans rise. Empires fall. Change occurs and little can stop it. Wants fade away as beauty can be found anywhere, friendship is temporary, and

Challenge #03845-J193: Turn of Fate

They put a knockout in the tea they served to everyone, and left a note of apology by the sleeping forms. A tear slid down a tired face, weapons strapped on, this would be the last battle. Live or die, the danger would finally be over. But this time, their friends would be spared, they would face it alone. -- Anon Guest

Promise Hardbattle had made the tea ceremony a ritual before facing any enemy. He and his friends sharing one last

Tuesday, Patreon and Laundry

I needed to do laundries for quite some time. So I made myself take a day to get that done.

With all good luck, it should be date day tomorrow. I plan on helping Beloved binge some chapters, have some indulgent meals, and otherwise share very careful snuggle times.

Then again, Beloved took another tumble because she mis-estimated her balance when she went to help pick up some dropped papers. Would have been all right if she hadn't landed on her owie
