Challenge #04001-J349: Weirdest Roommate Ever

A: So I’ve got a spider in my apartment…

B: Spiders are actually good, just leave them alone.

A: Wait, really?

B: Yeah, they eat other pest, so it’s better to keep them around.

If you can't read the glitch texts it said "I am all that stand between you and the roaches Joseph. You have chosen wisely to uphold our alliance my friend." -- Anon Guest

[AN: I'm not doing glitch font for the story. I may go as far as using mild L337, but that's it.]

"He's pretty big and his name's Harold," said Joseph. "It was a joke on 'hairy spider' but.... uhm. He kind of asked for more formality?"

"I think you mean 'she' if it's a large spider. The females are generally larger than th--" Bea startled out of her attempted infodumping. "Wait. What?"

"Harold's really big. And smarter than the average arachnid. I think," said Joseph. "I haven't exactly spoken to a lot of arachnids. Can they speak?" He had spent his formative years in a far more pristine household. Acclimating to life in the wider world was an ongoing process.

Thursday, Side-projects Day

Today, after I am done with my offerings, I shall try a few things I have remaining unfinished. Maps for another game I'm planning to run, more tooling around on Cheev Three of Stencyl's lessons, and recordings of at least one chapter for the rest of my PLNs.

And at least one paragraph into my summary of Beauties and the Beastly.

Somewhere in there, I should at least try to come up with a rough draft of a "Dear Employee" letter to

Challenge #04000-J348: Scheherazade IV

They were a member of Pax Humanis, but was so elderly their days hunting down the truly evil of the universe was over. These days, they trained new assassins how to find the ones who truly deserved to be eliminated, and how to eliminate them in a way that scared the crap out of other evil people who were on that same path. -- Anon Guest

[AN: Yes I know it should be story 4004 because Scheherazade told a thousand and one

Wednesday, Wordpress and Milestone

Today, I am writing my four thousandth story. I'm going to be spending some of my spondooly in getting that thing out to as many eyes as possible.

That will be happening later. For now, I do the minor tasks in waiting to go get all the things we need for the interim.

I managed to bork my wrists before I was done getting dressed. Mayhaps my morning routine needs to do the wrist stretchies before I put on my new knee

Challenge #03999-J347: From Little Things

"I'm nothing."

"Incorrect - you are a seed."

"I'm worthless."

"You are helping many people."

"Why are you giving me this acorn?"

"This is you, and your very, very long life. Plant it in fertile soil, and come back in 20 standard years. Keep helping people as you are, and you will see your answer."

"I don't understand."

"You will, I promise." -- Anon Guest

Ive didn't understand, but did as ze was told. Planting the gifted acorn as directed in the

Tuesday, Tech Support Excursion

Patreon and all my other offerings will be LATE today. Because the instant I finish my morning routine, I'm offski to MeMum's for extended tech support and budget wrangling.

It's going to be interesting times, as Mum has just broken something else in her new TV.

And to top it all off, I have a cyclone headache this morning. Huzzah.

Of course I've taken my painkillers. I can drive with one of these bastard heads and have done so before. With good

"Okay. I managed to hotwire the nav system. Sending instructions to your screens. The good news is that we're all traveling in the same direction. Some more news... gravity is in our favour. We're drifting closer and closer. I... don't know if that's going to be a good thing."

Monday, Tale Foundry Reads, Continuing Technical Issues

My writing group is sharing their diverse tales today. A thing that will likely keep me until the afternoon.

In the meantime, I shall be doing my stretchies, working on the entry for next week, recording a chapter of Adapting, and maybe doing something for Chapter 353 of A Devil's Tale while I'm at it.

Perhaps even some minor tweaking to my work in Stencyl too.

Tomorrow is the day I don't have scheduled obligations, so that's the day I sally forth

Challenge #03997-J345: One Spell From Concerning

A mage, a very strong one, sought out Wraithvine and asked, very politely, if they would be be willing to spar her. She wanted to see how well her abilities matched to the legendary wizard's. Of course, this was a sparring match, not a full-blown wizard's duel where one was trying to kill the other, so while tiring, it would be safe enough. -- Anon Guest

For training purposes, no Wizard of a higher level is permitted to use harmful spells on

Sunday, Stream Stuff and Things

I just finished the game stream, and am doing my pre-literature stretchies. Following Tale Foundry's stream, I shall get on with the daily tale.

Chapter Count: Finished Ch 352, about to commence 353. Getting closer and closer to my arbitrary limit where I believe I should wrap things up and finish up the dang STORY.

But I also have some plot to resolve in there as well, so I'm not going to rush too hard. And there's a lot of book 4

Challenge #03996-J344: Artefacts of Reverence

When Wraithvine, Lilbit, Gikka, and their immortal dragon friend who's disguised as a little imp, go through a town, they see an unusual sigh. Wraithvine's hat is everywhere in toy shops. But it's not as a hat... but as a stuffed doll for little kids. -- Anon Guest

[AN: Two nitpicks. The Dragon disguised themself as a Gnome, and a hat is more likely to be a dress-up accessory than a stuffie. I carry on.]

The world had changed. That was its

Saturday, Parkrun Without QPP

Beloved and Adorable are in foreign climes, so it was just Chaos and I for the parkrun. Mayhem doesn't want to join the cult the activity and that's his choice.

Sigh.

The good news is that APM is getting Mayhem some saleable work skills. I already put my hand up for anything he can teach me. You never know what might come in handy.

I'm doing my stretchies before moving on to my daily offerings. In between Jolie smudging for attention, because

Challenge #03995-J343: How to Leave Without Notice

Jay is approached by his supervisor with offer of lessons to tend to kids, and to treat injuries. Next few assignments might need the knowledge. -- DaniAndShali

"I don't really know what I can teach," said Jay. "I know what I survived, but..." He trailed off, resuming his usual performance of attempted invisibility. An old habit from his time before he escaped.

"That's what you can teach," said Counsellor Tye retained hir normal calm affect. Being the island of tranquility in the

Friday, Finishing Preparations

I did one thing I've been planning to do for literal years and it's a Crimbo present. Yay. Not saying anything more about that because spoilers. I can only hope that it's welcome when received.

I've done my stretchies, cleaned out the catio, and fed the felines. In a few short minutes, I shall start with my regular nonsense. Including the Stencyl stuff and some chapter recordings. AND The Bikkie.

I am not going anywhere and doing very much but my work

Challenge #03994-J342: Another Game of Tag

A swift deathworlder with a strong ship refuses to believe humans cannot be escaped if someone simply TRIES hard enough. They get 1 day head start and the human has the equivalent of one month to catch them. The gambling on this went wild. -- Anon Guest
