Realm of the InterNutter

Thoughts, stories and ideas.

Saturday, Bread, Day Zero, Kitty Chaos

One more from off the shore, eight active cases [I can presume that the two now off the list got better] and mutterings of open borders in time for Christmas.

Here comes Plague-a-claus....

Ahem. I'm a bitter bitch. Ignore me.

I have kitties to sequester in their carrycases because TODAY is finally the day that I drag them off for their vaccines. Huzzah. Since I'm also making TWICE the bread, this weekend, I have Beloved babysitting my starter and maybe the actual loafs. Time windows are a THING.

At least I have a rack to turn the baked bread out onto. Yay.

In the news:

  • Muppet aids claim he knows it's over, the liars
  • China congratulates Biden on his win
  • Yorkshire Ripper dies after refusing coronavirus treatment
  • Arizona called for Biden
  • Small wedding of 55 people kills seven, causes multiple outbreaks. OFC this happened in the USA
  • Obama confesses to smoking during his term in the Whitehouse. Scandalous
  • Muppet Press Secretary caught out on double standards with past videos
  • China continues to not trade with Australia after ScoMo said mean things about them in relation to Covid-19
  • Muppet is about to be fighting all sorts of self-caused trouble including, but not limited to: massive debt, tax fraud trials, allegations of sexual misconduct, having a "hush fund" and the associated coverups, and maybe an incoming divorce from Melania
  • Article goes on to state that his claims about being able to give himself a pardon from all that are negligible at best, and dodgy at worst
  • US election officials now state that Muppet's claims of voter fraud are completely fabricated, there's no evidence at all
  • Australian fire season to get longer and worse, say experts
  • Tattooed, foul-mouthed dad of six can feed the family on $8 and hooray for him. This may be the cue for the right wing to cut support for the needy even further, so watch out

I have Wilson on my desk and the cyclone headache of yesterday only went away when I had some actual food. Like, hell. The headache from hell kills my appetite. When the painkillers don't do it, eat something. Yargh.

I might have to come up with a Keto Cheese Melt or something. Sourdough, cheese, something for flavour. Bonus. May or may not include sour cream.

Story real soon now.

Challenge #02865-G308: Actively Seeking Trouble

a continuation of this

“Yes a child would be perfect for unforeseen flaws.” Threp chuckled. Glorz glad seeing that their friend is chucking. Another person slides themselves in to the conversation “so, how many laws and regulations would this violate?” Threp replied “I remember humans have something called CPS by their standards, many.” -- Anon Guest

Threp and Glorz stared at Faera, who added, "Considering child labor laws, it may be more expensive to hire Human neophytes. Though they are a one-size-fits-most

Friday, Bread Day, Day Zero

Three new cases today, all from overseas, all detected in quarantine. Ten active cases. Ten potentials to have one of them be an arsehole.

Chaos is going through my bread supplies so I'm doing a Double Batch as an attempt to keep up. One batch today, and another batch tomorrow. Which is also the new-new-rescheduled day for the cats to get their jabs.

This is the third time I have planned to traumatise my cats this week. It is stress. Jolie is

Challenge #02864-G307: Aaw But They Look So Cute

My name? Not important. I'm a Xenobiologist. But some people know about my family. Sure our name's changed over the years, thankfully, but you can see old movies about them sometimes. I was born with an unusual gift. I can talk to animals. No, I'm not crazy, yes this has been very thoroughly been tested even with telepaths. I can talk to animals and they can understand me, and I can understand them. How is this possible? Good question, we never did

Thursday - Day Zero

One more case from overseas and captured in quarantine. We have eight total active cases. Any one of those could up and decide to be the One Arsehole.

Today, I am taking my kitties to the vet's for their immunisations. It's very important to keep the creatures in my care safe, even though their likelihood of contracting anything is minimal at best. One Arsehole works even for critters, though critters have less in the way of agency in that case.

It's going

Challenge #02863-G306: Nothing That's Worth a Lot

A human had a poetry book that they took everywhere with them and enjoyed sitting and reading when they had time. Admittedly, time could be few and far between with their job. One poem she recited softly to herself from time to time had her liaison curious and he asked what it was she was muttering to herself. Her reply confused him because she stated it was a poem about nothing. But how could it be about nothing? All such works are

Wednesday- Day Six

I did phone calls to get the cats' jabs and my car service, yesterday. Arranging all the nonsense had me wiped out. Emotional labor is a thing.

Poor kitties are in for an adventure tomorrow.

In the news:

  • Muppet brags that he has the absolute right to give himself a pardon
  • Photo of Muppet being welcomed by former Prez shows up to embarrass Muppet
  • One off Crimbolio Rules appear for Xmas During Plague

Challenge #02862-G305: Song of Triumph

For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself then he has naught, To say the things he truly feels, And not the words of one who kneels, The record shows I took the blows, And did it my way. -- Anon Guest

It was a Human song of triumph, so of course it contained references to violence and, because of the culture of origin, going it all alone. Which is ridiculous. Society doesn't exist on an individual basis.

Tuesday - Day Five

Good things have happened. Hilarious things have happened. Tension is still in the air and there is dancing in the street. Biden won, Muppet refuses to say anything about it, and what was meant to be a concession speech happened in a parking lot between a crematorium and a dildo store.

Sometimes, in my more paranoid moments, I wonder if the right-wing is purposefully appearing to be incompetent, so as to soften the image of their impact to the left. Sure, we

Challenge #02861-G304: Well That Was Dumb

"Fuck!"

"Ow."

"...I'm bleeding." -- Anon Guest

Accidents happen quickly. Reactions to them differ. Humans have a shock response that insulates them from immediately feeling an injury. As a survival tactic, it's great for getting the people away from the threat, but in a more technologically advanced setting... it's disturbing to unprepared onlookers.

Human Dree had been working on something involving sharp tools and applied pressure. One of their multiple hobbies. The tool slipped, and the reaction was instant and automatic. "FLAKK!

Monday - Day Four

The USA has overwhelmingly chosen to not have the Muppet in office. Of course the right wing is throwing a tantrum about it. At least ScoMo's willing to roll with the flow.

The internet is more or less sighing in relief. Maybe this will be the turning point where the world brings itself back from the brink.

The real difference between the Muppet and Biden is that the Muppet surrounded himself with toadies and yes-men. Biden, even when campaigning, has surrounded himself

Challenge #02860-G303: ART!

They had some pre-shattering videos they wanted to show their friends, a mixed group of havenworlders and level one and level two deathworlders. Once everyone was seated, they turned down the lights and began the video on the large screen. People, human-looking, painted up all in blue, playing techno music on improvised instruments. A fun, amusing, experience for the humans, but maybe a little confusing, if still fun, for everyone else.

Sunday - Day Three - Leyland's Tour!

Yesterday was almost complete shenanigans and most of it was spending too much money getting supplies. Thanks to the lack of community transmission, I actually felt bold enough to shop around rather than go on the most efficient path to obtain the thing.

Things have changed so much it's disorienting.

  • Big W has two dedicated exits and one dedicated entrance
  • Golden Circle Factory Outlet has moved
  • Right next to a Silly Solly's
  • I went to six different places and forgot to get

Challenge #02859-G302: Fae Fascination

The Fates, the Benevolent ones, In olden times mothers used to leave cake and wine so they'd look kindly on a newborn. She was no fool, a neatly sliced black forest cake, a bottle of very good dessert wine and a bag of superfine merino fleece. -- Nonn7mouse

Upon bringing a newborn into the house, it is tradition to give a gift to the Fae to prevent the child being stolen, and so that the Benevolent Ones look kindly upon the new

Saturday - Day Two - Insanity

The world is going crabonkers around me and here's why:

  • Destiel [Dean/Castiel on Supernatural] is made canon in the finale and then IMMEDIATELY followed by Bury Your Gays as the forces of the Writer's Room instantly send Castiel to Super Mega Hell
  • Rumours of Putin retiring because Parkinson's/Cancer/AIDs/Who knows have escaped because someone dropped a pre-written piece somewhere.
  • USA election shenanigans continue at a mind-boggling rate

There's a LOT to unpack, here.

  • The right wing is self-owning as
