Challenge #03698-J045: Just Their Luck

Two good-luckers decide to come together play poker. The game lasts nearly a record length before they call it a draw. The watchers enjoyed it greatly! -- Anon Guest

[AN: I know fuck all about Poker. Also there's way more than two Luckers]

There are events that exist only for the spectacle. People gathered from all over just to see it happen live.

The Luckers were having a Poker match.

There were no prizes, because these were all Good Luckers. The favoured of fortune. They couldn't lose. Which, when you got to think about it, made it almost impossible to win. Which was why it was such a spectacle.

Challenge #03697-J044: Mostly Harmless, I Promise

Tons of security rush into the domicile

"What's going on here?"

"It was reported you're building bombs!"

"Oh, I'm making bath bombs."

"Explosives to use while you wash??"

"No, fizzy little balls to add to a bath for aromatherapy."

"It was reported as a Bomb."

"The eavesdropper needs to learn to listen to the entire conversation." -- Anon Guest

"Explosives are not permitted in enclosed vessels," intoned the guard. "We still have to inspect the process and the product."

Human Liz sighed

Monday, Long Monday No More

Thanks to Game Night happening in the early morning, I now have Mondays relatively free!

Huzzah!

For today, my problem is remembering that it's Monday, and not getting a day ahead of myself.

My PLNs today include the Tale Foundry backup reads, dungeon set-dressing, fic tagging, and doing what I can to create more novel.

Beloved's binging chapters at warp speed and it's hard not to feel rushed about it.

I need to go searching for a way to do the dang

Challenge #03696-J043: Scrounged Family

How do you determine who is family?

It's not by blood.

It's a simple thing, really.

Who are you willing to fight for, to die for, and protect?

Who makes you happy every time you see them?

Who worries of you, and holds your hand if you're in need?

Those are your family. -- Anon Guest

Charity Mudbarak never had much of a home. Nor that much of an example of parental behaviour. What he remembered was the others in the mud

Sunday, Game morning & Tale Foundry

Just finished game time with the international maniacs. I'm watching Tale Foundry and about to ponder the prompt.

I also wish to get onto Animal Crossing: New Horizons to do the whole turnip thing. It's a THING. Turnips == profit + stock market joke.

So I'll be warming up the Switch to play whilst I listen to the Foundry.

Story happening live on stream after that. It's going to be fun. The cats wish to be fed hours ago.

Challenge #03695-J042: Soft Space for All

Aboard a ship heading to the edge, the human creates a special room filled with pillows and stuffed animals. They are asked why the odd room? Two words, emergency de-stressing. For everyone. -- Anon Guest

They began with soft lining for the floor, walls, and ceiling. Following that were large enough soft furnishings to, as Human Bakr put it, "confound a horse."

There were also animal effigies in soft fabrics.

There were also soft, colourful lights and ur-music with calming and meditative

Saturday, Parkrun

This time, my defences against Sneezin' and Wheezin Season worked and I did the whole 5K walk. Yay.

I have had a post-perambulatory reward. I have had a nap. I have futzed around on Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

So now I really should get on with other stuff. Starting with the daily tale.

Tomorrow's game session is early in my morning, and there's a higher chance that I will be streaming after Tale Foundry, so keep an eye out on that.

Onwards,

Challenge #03694-J041: Let Our Motto be Broadcast

"Why do you have THAT many weapons on your walls?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Isn't it a bit .... overkill?"

"Nah, I just really like all these pretty sharp things."

"Are they actually useful?"

"When have you ever seen me without a blade during an emergency?"

"Fair point." -- Anon Guest

Human Reg had one of the more interesting mottos: "It's better to be prepared than be embarrassed." To that end, she always had a knife, a multitool, or both somewhere on her

Friday, Continuing PLNs

I have cleaned out the Catio. I have fed my Starters and made The Bikkie. I have also recently consumed The Bikkie.

I have done the Blorbo meme over on Blajaj

So now I'm all set to do more set dressing, fic tagging, and chapter summarising.

I tried to do a new cover with Lunacy, but...

It's a bit on the pathetic side.

Look you:

Challenge #03693-J040: Nothing Wrong in Here

A strange noise is coming out of the human habitat. When they look in, the pet is rushing around like it's half-insane. The human chuckles and calls it the "midday zoomies". -- Anon Guest

Companion Xaal had detected strange noises inside Human Per's habitat. A rhythmic thumping and an irregular vocalisation that could imply physical or mental distress. Alarmed, ze entered the emergency code that let hir into the Human's area.

Human Per was jumping up and down, arms and legs going

Thursday, Remedicated and Revitalised

I have my meds [Yay!] and I have learned that they discontinued the best brand so now I have to settle for the next best thing.

So far, so good. It took a while to kick in but I am no longer in agony from the light of my monitor so all is well.

I'm getting on with getting on, today.

  • Tag a week
  • Summarise a chapter
  • Set dress some dungeon
  • Figure out WTF I can do with the stuff I have

Challenge #03692-J039: The Largest To-Read List

A person had a perfect memory. Working hard, they went to the B'Nari to get an artificial body, but kept that eidetic memory talent of theirs. Then they went to an Archivaas world, and asked to please spend time in the libraries to read, and make friends. -- DaniAndShali

Records, memories, events. Experiences. Emotions pressed onto paper in nothing more than black and white. Some preserved these in ridiculous measures. Climate-controlled mega-structures containing labyrinths of stacks. Not just books. Movies. Holograms. Games.

Wednesday, Wordpress and Doctor's

I need the superior painkillers because Cyclone Season is upon us. Western Australia got the first one, but Queensland's overdue for the second one.

I'm out of those things I need and the prescription is needed for more.

So I might be a little late with getting the nonsense out in the world today. Stay tuned to my socials.

Meanwhile, I shall be working on the stuff for Tale Foundry. Reviews and kudos to everyone who did something neat.

Maybe you'll find

Challenge #03691-J038: One Abandoned Prize

A Human, and their Havenworlder spouse, find an early-shattering, almost pre-shattering, ship in nearly perfect condition with all of its materials, well almost all of it's materials, intact. And they're able to claim it. -- Anon Guest

One being's trash is another's treasure. Truer words had never come out of the entire insane mess that was the Human race. Things thrown away in eons past became valuable in later years. Things valuable in eons past also became worthless.

Thus, the cycle of
