Challenge #04026-K008: Socially Engineered

Don't be a bully. You have NO idea who, or what, might be watching. Do NOT be a bully, you have no idea how strong the ones you're picking on, despite them being much smaller than you, truly are. Just... do NOT be a bully! -- Anon Guest

Of all the small crimes of Human society, the most pernicious and egregious has to be the bad habit of bullying. Asserting dominance and some fragment of superiority by putting someone else down. Climbing up the social ladder by stepping on other people's fingers, as it were.

Humanity has spent centuries trying to reprogram social mechanics to eliminate it. Some methods were more effective than others.

Such as listening to the victims, and acting accordingly. When a child is caught out and reprimanded for unapproved behaviour, they're less likely to repeat it. But there's always a few who double down.

Monday, Forgetting the Self-Maintenance

This may be the last relatively idle day in what's looking like a busy week. I'm taking Mayhem to a thing to help him with work tomorrow. I'm going to MeMum's for tech support issues on Wednesday... and on Sunday... Beloved returns to this wide burnt land. Hooray.

I have PLNs involving a lot of hugs on that day.

I'm also plotting to do two side-projects per diem this week and see how it plays out. Whether or not I feel burned

Challenge #04025-K007: A Kinder Poison

A very elderly magic user has gotten a bit senile. Their grandchild begs Wraithvine to limit how much magic the elder can use so they're no longer a danger to themselves or others. -- Anon Guest

It's never nice to see a loved one fall to pieces. Watching Odasorin the Wonderous become lost in time and thereafter coming apart had not been something Aqirax had been willing to acknowledge until it got dangerous. After all, he loved his grandren[1]. And in

Sunday, Tale Foundry and a VICTORY!

Because I need napnaps, I count Sunday as my "light day". All I count for a win is writing a part of A Devil's Tale for this day.

If I do anything else today, that is also a win.

I think I should work on a map for a PLN'd game sesh with the rainbow crowd. Or two. Depends on my personal impetus at the time.

Chapter Count: Just wrote the first words in chapter 359 of A Devil's Tale. Which means

Challenge #04024-K006: Peacemakers Reunited

Fate was not done with Kosh, or his love, not by a long shot. They are reborn in two different noble families, and, as fate would have it, arranged marriages means they were fated to wed once more once the time came.

Fate's wheel turns. Lives are lived again, and turned about in the process.

Two houses, alike in villainy, meet their heirs together in the hope of forging peace. Prince Delyn was

Saturday, Parkrun and Progress

I have finally and at last finished Chapter 358 of A Devil's Tale, the epic story of a devilborn whose love life has gone to hell. The chapter was dragging under the weight of shinier ideas elsewhere. [coughcough Astarion Baldursgate coughcough]

I am getting there, though.

Bit by bit, I shall reach the point in which the mandatory war happens, thence to be followed by snippets of Happily Ever After. For all the epilogues I planned when I was in the middle

Challenge #04023-K005: Couples Hobby Hour

Lilicoon teaches her best friend, Jay, how to crochet and some of her other hobbies. It's surprisingly useful later on. -- Anon Guest

It was, initially, a good excuse to get cozy together. And Jay would be the last person to admit that they were a little touch-starved. Snuggling in innocent ways with someone as soft and fluffy as Miss Lilicoon was a welcome balm to the wounds Jay kept giving themself.

They shared therapy sessions like that, sometimes.

This was more

Friday, DISASTER and ruined PLNs

I wuzgunna record a chapter of Adapting for a potential future need, this morning. BUT... those PLNs have gone to shit. Because I was "clever".

The long story:

  • Attempting to switch from YouTube to NewPipe on my phone
  • Required huge amounts of files to do that for some fucked-up reason
  • Couldn't get them piecemeal on my phone
  • Bright idea#1: PUT THEM ON MY GOOGDRIVE!
  • Overload the GoogDrive
  • Panic because still writing things
  • Still wanted to switch to NewPipe
  • Bright idea#2:

Challenge #04022-K004: One Person's Nightmare...

The world had been a toxic sludge pit. The CEOs were all dead now thanks to the pollution that had caused that disease outbreak. The populace was rescued by the CRC. Now, nearly 5 centuries later, inoculated against it, some return to rescue their former homeworld, with the CRC's aid and blessing. -- Fighting Fit

Most of the volatile components left on the world had broken down to less harmful ones. The world once named Rykodaan was, at least nominally, safe for

Thursday, Easing Into It

Once I start planning to do a thing, I end up doing the thing. Amazing. For example - I added a few more paragraphs to A Devil's Tale. I made three attempts at getting the enemy ships to fire back at me... and autokilled them every time. Whoops.

I have three days left in the week and two side-tasks to schedule into them. So that means that I can take one day for messing around for fun.

Probably a day when nothing

Challenge #04021-K003: Unfair Comparison

When did it start? When did I start hating my brother? As long I can remember, he wasn’t at home. “Your brother is really amazing. When you were born he helped me a lot.”

“The young master? Since he was a baby he was reading everything. He really was a special boy.”

“Your big bro? He could already BAM when he was young. He’s my pride as a son. When he comes back I’m sure he’s gonna love

Wednesday, Wordpress and Small Progress

I decided to work on the Fic Tags today. Something that's gone neglected for the majority of last year. I want to get this app of mine out into the wilderness, and that means making sure every fic is searchable.

My exercise this morning was making certain the earliest fics were tagged. Next time, I proceed from the last place I left off. When I finally get to entire weeks of untagged fics, I will work on a week at a time.

Challenge #04020-K002: Just Use a Whetstone

It's before humans met their first aliens officially, the ship had engine problems and was forced to land, fortunately safely. Doubly fortunate, not only were the humans very friendly, but very handy and took directions well, especially the kids. Repairs might take a bit, but at least it was a cozy experience! -- Anon Guest

[AN: This would have to happen on one of the Deep-Time colonies]

Good news, their attempts to invite alien life to their new world had worked. Sort

Tuesday, Patreon and the Morbs

The Morbs(n): A feeling of ennui, depression, and generalised gloominess in which the possessor wonders whether there's a point to continuing. In brief, listless, lackluster depression.

I.

Have.

The Morbs.

I just feel like I'm doing so much for so little in the way of rewards. I posted about that on Tumblr this morning. It's so rough getting out of bed on days like this.

I will have better days. Knowing that is the only reason why I fought to get

Challenge #04019-K001: Careful Scrutiny

What looks like an ordinary cat is sitting on the slightly crumpled lip of a garage awning. However, those that can see through the illusion realizes it's a young dragon watching the humans quietly. -- Anon Guest

As far as domestic cats were concerned, this one was a bruiser. Larger than the average housecat, and clearly a shorthair. It was also clearly nestled on a bent portion of roof. Some humorous images could circulate if anyone paid attention to it.

In this
