Saturday, Parkrun, Foot Injury, and Wrapping PLNs

I sat out parkrun this week because of my toe blister. The site is reddened and swollen today, so it's going to get another dose of Savlon when I get back home. If it gets worse, it's going to the Doctor after Crimbo.

Powers know I won't be able to see the Doc before Crimbo.

I have almost all I need for the final gift prep. I would like a thing to make the lable writing fancy, but if I have to go with not, then I will deal with that. Besides, I have very nice ribbons that will make the actual gift tags not matter. Yay, I guess.

I shall be wending my way home soonish to now. And hopefully writing may offerings soonish thereafter.

And then... wrapping presents. Huzzah.

Challenge #04373-K355: The Other Side of the Gurney

It was a hell of a battle, by all rights this marine SHOULD be dead. But we saved him. Any other being that had lost that much blood, and that many limbs, would've been long gone by now. There's a reason other medics claim that humans are almost unkillable. I really wish they'd stop that way of thinking. They're tough, but not THAT tough! -- Anon Guest

[AN: Continuing on from this ]

The crew took turns sitting with their Ship's Human. Human

Friday, More Baking and Further Prep

I'm doing the second batch, today. I also have to clean out the catio at some point.

I'm planning to make the bikkies first, then rest my poor feet while I do all the expected output things. Then, when the afternoon starts to cool, I shall venture outdoors and sort out the catio.

Huzzah.

I am a busy, busy bean, today.

In other news, I managed to give myself a blister between my toes at some point on Wednesday. I have a

Challenge #04372-K354: Only Looks Harmless

The humans mocked another human calling them a hippo.

The human, much to the shock of their Alliance friends, thanked the mockers.

The mockers were shocked and swore at the human.

The human said "You just compared me to one of THE most feared animals on the planet next to the humble mosquito. An animal that is fast, powerful, literally a living, amphibious, tank. So thanks!" -- Fighting Fit

Of all the things that could happen in the Edge Territories, this was

Challenge #04371-K353: Itinerant Educator

Magic done improperly by a person very new to it can go very wrong. Fortunately, a very kind wizard helps fix the mess and gently teach proper safety. -- Anon Guest

Magic is everywhere. Many find it as natural as breathing, but there are those who can learn to harness it via education and skill. Teachers find those with magic in their bones, usually before a great upset causes trouble for them. Or for anyone around them.

But for those who choose

Wednesday, Rant Due and NBN!

Between one and five this afternoon, the NBN crew come around to do the box installations that will make us fully connected. And then I find out whether or not the weather is going to have a bad influence on our connectivity.

Yay.

Tomorrow, I should also feed my starter, no matter what else I have going on.

...which reminds me, I should get my butter out of the fridge so that it's nice and soft for bikkies. That done, I shall

Challenge #04370-K352: Strangers in the Woods

A: "It's all natural!"

B: "So're arsenic and cyanide." -- Anon Guest

There are, in magical worlds, places where the people do not trust magic. They shun it, exile those with magic in their bones, and even watch those using sleight of hand with suspicious eyes. The threat of a noose, or a pyre, lurked within those hateful eyes.

They also mistrust anything new, anything from the outside, and anyone who doesn't look like them.

No matter what you do to improve

Tuesday, Free-Roaming Shenanigans

Following my foot stretchies and organising my travelling meds, I am offski to MeMum's to help her go to place and do thing. Yay.

So my daily tale won't be happening before sunset, belike. I may get a few more sentences into A Devil's Tale at about lunchtime, and I am counting that win.

As for the remainder of my offerings, if they don't happen today, I will catch up tomorrow.

Meanwhile... the rains are threatening to flood Adorable's locale again. So

Challenge #04369-K351: Impromptu Intervention

They knew humans work longer than most. But this just kept going until they collapsed. Working instead of dealing with their feelings in a healthier way. -- Anon Guest

The manual said to watch your Rescue Human carefully for signs of distress. Community notes in that area also detailed some confounding signs of a Human masking their signs of distress. Though Companion Grosk tried to collate them, the final list looked like literally anything a Human could do.

Human Neis was either

Monday, Attempts at Organisation

I have some butter fridge-defrosting at the moment. I've located my melon baller. I know where all my bits are. I shall locate and acquire some lables tomorrow.

Almost all set up for making my Crimbo present for everyone. Yay.

I'm taking my lappy for the hurry-up-and-wait. Which means there shall be progress on yet another chapter of A Devil's Tale.

I sincerely hope to get it finished early next year.

I also sincerely hope to stop at a sextology. Mostly because

Challenge #04368-K350: Desperate Measures

They could not speak, yet they ran up to Mr. Sunshine and quickly pulled on his sleeve until getting his attention. Trying to get him to follow, the eyes filled with pleas for help, they pointed to where forces of the local CEO government were trying to drag away their children, and their pets. -- Anon Guest

Sunday, I've Done it Again

My schedule is getting large again. Lots of stuff going on this incoming week.

Monday: Driving and Physio
Tuesday: Helping MeMum go place and do thing
Wednesday: Finally, the NBN connection (and driving)
Maybe Wednesday but likely Thursday: Baking the Crimbo presents for everyone. (And driving)

I will perhaps have more time to chill on Friday, but I have doubts. Something else is bound to pop up.

I have the rest of today, though, and I'm going to enjoy it.

...alongside the

Challenge #04367-K349: Too Cold to Hurt

The one thing about being too cold is that, when you're badly hurt, and your crewmates are trying hard to get you to safety, and get you help, it's not so bad. One the cold numbs the pain a bit and two, it slows down your system, giving them more time. At least you know... you may just make it this time. -- Anon Guest

Cold... hurts. It aches the muscles and creeps into bones. Grinding joints along the way. Thing is.

Saturday, Parkrun Progress and Shenanigans

My battery's at less than 50% so I shall attempt to make this quick.

Attempt.

The physio is working in that I was able to walk the entire 5K without needing to support it with the cane. Yay for my left heel. Alas, my right knee has had enough of supporting me and decided to be a huge bitch the entire time.

I shall be talking with my physio about that come Monday. Replete with descriptions of the clicking and clunking that
