Saturday, No Stream Slug Day

The Archhive is not reading anything today. Neither is the Promptcast. Because it's Halloween in the US. Where they are.

So I don't have a 4-6 hour distraction from my normal offerings.

I've signed up for QueryTracker at long blipping last, and I now have a fresh PLN for pitching my books. I can seek out agents willing to look at my stuff and go through them alphabetically. I can even use it to pitch.

Starting tomorrow.

I now have new glasses, so the only things left to worry about are the blood test I have to do... and the fact that my phone and laptop are lining up to disintegrate.

I will take care of the blood first because the glasses cost four figures. I need to wait a while before spending another four figures on new tech.

Again... not today.

Today I am finishing off the bread baking, writing the offerings, and slacking off.

Challenge #04688-L304: Miracles For Midwinterfeast

"Greatfather Langeven is a childhood god. He only sees that which is good in the world, and so comes for the children who believe they have been good. Which is terribly unfair to those who've been told they're wicked their entire, brief lives. But that's a different story for a different time."

The youth had always been kind, had always done their best to help others, even though they, themselves, were constantly being told they were evil, wicked, and, sadly, thoroughly believing

Friday, Bread and New Eyes

I'm paying for the other half of my new glasses, today. As soon as the place is open. I'm also wrangling a double batch, today. Baking one set of dough, and making the next.

My videos are back in my work cycle, so that's going to be interesting to work back in to what passes for my routine.

The ankle needs a brace, today. My bad for pushing it too far after Physio. On the other hand, I had to test it

Challenge #04687-L303: The Price of Prophecy

Divine clues convince a town that a boy and his friends must complete a daring quest to avert world ending disaster. That may be true. But the Hero’s parent knows the children will face potent foes none could survive without aid. So the parent, willing to pay well, begs Wraithvine to watch over the young heroes from the shadows and keep them from harm without being seen. -- Deathsead419

Langdon was born with the blaze. Prophecy declared that the boy born

Thursday, Bread and Bothered

I have bread on, today. Can't really delay it without consequences. Alas for my plans, we are also out of cordial and that's going to need a dash up to the shops to get more.

Which means I have to wait until I have money 'cause I've currently run out. The joys of feeding a household when everything runs dry.

I think I shall wait until the account fills up before I sally forth. It'll give me time to get the bread

Challenge #04686-L302: The Fool's Choice

What’s better after a night barhopping than an impromptu car race on the rain-slick city streets? Why, doing so before seat-belt laws! -- Deathshead419

There was a time which had much more freedom, compared to the modern day. Less freedom when compared to certain other times. Like, say, the paleolithic era. But those had their own caveats. Rampant disease, early death, that sort of thing. But in this era, the age of rock and roll, or the sock hop, there was

Wednesday, Change of PLNs

I have finished working on the Promptcast thing. Or finished to my satisfaction about it. And it has occurred to me that the Promptcast stuff is exactly what Scrivener was made for. So I might transfer my extant shit from the GoogDoc to that and buy the damn program.

I'll try playing with that anyway. It's a small file so far. And I think I still have the free trial on.

Temporal awareness is my achilles' heel.

Turns out I can move

Challenge #04685-L301: Slaughter Underwater

Well drat, Wraithvine’s unexpected island vacation will have to end sooner rather than later to help free the merfolk from having to make sacrifices to the Whijioght, though ze will likely have to get very damp doing so in this follow-up to:

https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-04588-l204-a-knack-for-finding-trouble -- Deathshead419

Obviously, whatever Whijiought was, it needed to be stopped. Sacrifices to something that needed a pronounciation guide were never a good thing. Wraithvine used every atom of hir acting skills to

Tuesday, Patreon, Rain, and Shenanigans

We got blacked out, yesterday. Fun. Then we got rain. We still have rain now, and my internet might get cut off at any moment. Now I also have bread to arrange tomorrow and that promises to be exciting if blackouts continueth.

So does today. I have things to deliver unto Patreon. I have a story to create, the meme to participate in... and so many shiny projects to work on.

I think I'll give the Patreon Patrons a page at a

Challenge #04684-L300: Unfeeling Love

I do not understand emotions, although my library has the definitions I do not truly feel them. Although, it is not written in my code, there is an unfinished task in serving my master. I am missing a part if I am not with them. Is this… desire? -- Anon Guest

I am Min-yun. I am made to serve. I am a thing of cogs and gears, run by crystals and magic. My master-maker-mother commands me and I obey. I am good

Monday, Backup Reads and Over-involved

I am once again tripping lightly into my usual bad habit of picking up too many things to do. "I can fit that in"-itis.

I got the novel, of course, chugging slowly along towards the final chapters. The very shiny fanfic that is having an editing day today[too many typos]. The entry for the Archive, of course. And now I got myself involved in the Hold My Pen Promptcast. Or "Promptcast" for short.

I know not if there is a

Challenge #04683-L299: Help the Helper

They were a hellkin, but their horns never grew in. They had the tail, the dark red skin, black fingernails, though not claws, but no horns. As an adult they wore fake horns to try to be more like others of their type. Until another told them, "Horns don't matter, your kindness is in your heart." -- Lessons.

The basic Hellkin "starter set" if you wish to think about such things, is thought to be horns, teeth, tail, and weirdly-coloured skin. Red

Challenge #04682-L298: Own Employee Rights

Why were you arrested? /"I severely overworked my employee to the point of collapse while not seeing to their needs."

Wait... I thought you were self employed and had no employees. /"You're right, I don't."

So which employee did you overwork if you don't have any working for you? /"I guess I was the employee."

Okay... that's odd. /"Yeah, I don't belong here." -- The New Guy

Saturday, Easy PLNs

Yesterday, I had a PLN to take the afternoon off. Then I was called upon to help a writer in the group trim their story down from nearly one thousand words. For a reminder, the upper limit is three hundred and fifty words.

Then I got wrapped up in a collab idea.

And just when I was actually nearly finished with the day's tale, Mayhem needed an emergency shopping run. Sigh.

I'm HOPING to have an afternoon off today. And maybe tomorrow.
