Realm of the InterNutter

Thoughts, stories and ideas.

Thursday, Spinning Wheels

I have to track down quacks, and today's a good day for it. Fingers crossed I don't get lost in the shuffle this time.

I'll be doing that between videos I have in the background for attempted focus assistance.

I actually managed to draw Kosh in his sleepwear, and then accidentally posted it twice. First post spent five-ever uploading and I thought it was borked because I couldn't find it anywhere. So I posted it again and cancelled the first one. Or so I thought.

Then BOTH posts turned up. Sigh.

I know the interwebs will likely forgive me. What I do know is the chaos gremlin who inspired me likes it. That's all that counts.

Onwards to the offerings and the ring-around.

Challenge #04245-K227: Long Time Learning

He was heavier, had more muscle, and was taller than all the other kids. Yet even the tiniest among them had knocked him flat. This went on for, he was unsure, until the King finally called a halt. Confined to a room with a bathroom "grounded", he was fed, given bed clothes, told to sleep. Next day, again.

Now an adult, he thought of those painful lessons. Grateful for it, It wasn't might, it was the heart, that made a person strong.

Wednesday, Writer's Rant and Shenanigans

Mayhem's entered negotiation to have two days off a week, in which to decompress, fill out his Learners, and otherwise have a life.

The sooner he's transportationally free, the better things will be.

For all of us. I'll have some freedom back, I'll have what passes for my social life back. I'll be able to run long-range errands again.

But that's a little bit away from now. Whatever days we get, I'll rearange my life accordingly. I'd like to have Tuesdays and

Challenge #04244-K226: Downtrodden Uplifted

It was a havenworld. The inhabitants? Almost all Uplifts, former slaves that had been freed, and their therapists helping them recover. The protectors? Three, 2 - person teams of Pax Humanis members that worked on 8 hour rotations. When dereggers come to try to "claim a prize"... they find that it's not the claws of an Uplift they must worry about, but far deadlier fangs. -- Anon Guest

Gengineering should never be used to make toys. The more you think about that

Tuesday, Everything is Sideways

It's afternoon and I have barely started my nonsense for the day. Things that interrupted today's process are:

  1. A late night leading to a late start
  2. Driving Mayhem to work
  3. The cats
  4. Dinner creation

So now I'm doing what I can to get to completing my offerings before other stuff has to happen.

If I can focus long enough to do that.

Also, I may be getting a call from some maybe-scammers at some point. I need every luck I can get.

Challenge #04243-K225: Why? Why Not!

The cloak they wear is made of carefully tanned thick buffalo hide. Upon it, overlapping, are dragon scales. Oddly enough, each scale has a name etched into it. They buy the scales from the dragons, and dragon kin, fairly, one scale per individual, have it signed using a special metal quill, and use these for the cloak.

Why? Because they love all dragons and dragon-kind. And their life's mission is to make a special shrine where the names of them may forever

Monday. No stream today because death cough

I'm not dying, I'm just doing a very good impersonation of the last act of Camille or Carmen Buranda. I'm currently taking a dose on Max and I need to go shopping because the cats need more food.

Fun times ahead.

I thought I had more cat food than I do, so it's an emergency run for assorted things. So there's a significant chance I won't be back before stream time. Which is why no stream today.

I may do stream tomorrow.

Challenge #04242-K224: Hero of Justice

A sheathed, dusty, blade that was hidden in a thief's lair is stolen by a young hellkin seeking a way to defend themselves.

The blade finds they are able to speak to their new wielder, and helps them learn how to be a true hero. Not a false one wrapped in gold, but a quiet one wrapped in hope.

Justice is an odd thing, beyond an eye for an eye. For example, harming

Sunday, Stream and Games

Ran a game in the wee small hours of this morning. Due to be running in a game sometime after darkness has crawled over the land.

I've had a really good long rest, I somehow acquired a cyclone headache. I took my painkillers, and I'm still waiting for them to kick in.

So the offerings shall occur, and I hope to heck that I do them quick enough to have fun in between now and then.

Onwards to the nonsense.

Challenge #04241-K223: A Study of the Alien

One of us does not speak, together, we speak as one. They do not recognize us as intelligent, until we work together. We are tiny, but we are strong. Worry not large one, we will save you. Worry not other large ones, the smaller ones were already healed. -- Anon Guest

We did not understand the invaders, when they came. They did not understand us, either. They thought we were animals and, to be honest, we thought the same of them. They

Saturday, No Parkrun and Continuing Embuggerances

I don't know how to get the pi-hole software onto the hardware, my heel hates me, and I'm creeping ever closer to maybe needing a fifth dang GoogDoc.

Time will tell about that.

Stencyl won't let me progress until there's an update, so now I'm keeping tabs on the updates page to see when they enact their jiggery-pokery. Huzzah.

I've finished a fnart piece for an artist on Tumblr, and I only hope my efforts don't insult them. So far... radio silence.

Challenge #04240-K222: Midwinterfeast Blessings

The child given a small toy, it was such a simple gift. A little dragon-shaped doll. Toys, when deeply loved, can have their own life. This toy fought with a wizard, loved a child, and protected the travelers to help the child, and new parent, find their way past darkness, toward home.

Friday, Raspberry Pi and Jiggery-Pokery

I did not, in fact, wreck the thing forever. The machine is assembled, the OS is installed, so now I'm pondering the software. Which is going on the world's smallest data chip. Currently in its carry-case until I find or figure out how to install the software on the thing.

My current issue - where does data chip go? I cannot figure out the receptacle for it to reside.

It'll be unriddled in time, I'm sure.

Soon, mu-ha, we shall have... AD-FREE

Challenge #04239-K221: The Secret of Sillies

Researchers from around the Alliance had been trying to get a bead on WHAT the cause for the human's sudden impromptu-parties called Silly Seasons. What they found astounded them.

The Alliance is very safety conscious, as well as conscious of absolutely anything that could cause offense. Leading to almost everything, save for human areas, to be mostly bland, soft, inoffensive grey. Simply put, the frequent outbreaks in some areas were humans being completely, and utterly, out of their heads with boredom. --

Thursday, House of Pestillence

Mayhem has a lingering Lurgi, this time. He might be starting to believe in the power of sanitising communal keyboards and may begin to believe in sanitising his hands before touching food or his face.

Time will tell.

Pseuducku news: It's not me, it's the app. My trouble with sound files is a bug in Stencyl that needs fixing, not anything I was fucking up. Yay?

So alongside doing yesterday's rant that I forgot, I shall now make room for a side
