Realm of the InterNutter

Thoughts, stories and ideas.

Friday, Duties and Dallying

MeMum now has a new phone because her old one was getting decrepit. The battery was going bad. I've done what I can to make it adjusted to her needs, but there's an issue with the alarm. I might need to go back, fiddle around, and teach her how to turn her alarm off.

Hopefully, getting her to read the screens will solve it.

I have reviews to write for the Archive, a story to write for the Temple of Notes, and I'm working on finishing a chapter of ADT. Not very far to that goal, so yay.

B'Nar's been rejected again, so tomorrow will see me hurling it at another unlucky agent. I think I'll keep pitching it beyond five. Maybe to ten. Then get my friends in the writing groups to look at it and see what needs fixing, and what variety of arena it could go when I get sick of shipping it around.

Adapting is going to be the first to find alternative publication. It's been hanging around with just me for company for way too long.

Interestingly, it's the one that hasn't had any kind of feedback. Positive or nay.

Either way, I know I'm a better bloody writer than Shadiversity.

Onwards to working on things.

Challenge #04814-M064: A Natural Warning

During a massive storm they put their tent up over the nest of tiny yellow dragons with blue spots, protecting it from the weather, and then slept peacefully, if uncomfortably, in their carriage.

They awakened to find not only were they now completely immune to the deadly stings, but the small creatures now nested in the carriage protecting them from bandits and other deliberate hostiles. -- Anon Guest

[AN: Microdragons are fun creatures, but not that magical. I have to invent some

Thursday, Free-roaming Nerd

I have bread in progress and MeMum needs tech support. Fun times ahead.

Here's the PLN:

  • Get myself presentable for public appearance [done]
  • Feed the cats
  • Prep the bread process for the kids to take over
  • Wake kids and notify them of same
  • Make sure I have everything I need
  • Ice my ankle
  • Leave for MeMum's

I shall make certain that all is in place including a full tank.

As is always the case when I'm on an extended Leyland's Tour, there

Challenge #04813-M063: Forbidden for a Reason

She was an ancient vampire, the one she loved? Well, she was a werewolf. They knew their love was, technically, forbidden due to ancient rules. Werewolves and vampires did not stay together like that. But they didn't care. They took precautions, and they were in love. -- Fighting Fit

Children of the night... what complicated drama they make.

Under the light of stars, a wolf runs, and a bat flits through the sky. This would not seem out of the ordinary even

Wednesday, Shrink, Bread, and Other Things

I have bread in progress, a shrink appointment, my ankle to tend and some offerings to push forth. Including the weekly installment of My Baby Now.

(Quasi Update) I forgor to write this while I was getting on with all that stuff in the first paragraph. Whoopsydoodle.

Nevertheless, the weekly story installment is out. The flash fiction is about to get out. I'm one more fold away from putting the dough to rest in the fridge, and I'm still slightly nuts.

Yay?

Challenge #04812-M062: Strength Against Weakness

Remember my students. A bully only has power over you for as long as you let them have it. That includes family members who bully you as well. But remember, the only power over you that anyone has, is the power you give them. Believe in yourself, and you'll be able to believe in those who truly care. -- Lessons

It sounded so nice. Believe in yourself and the horrid people would leave you alone. Cordelia's problem was that some of the

Challenge #04810-M061: Old, Yes. Helpless? HA!

She was older, heavy, with hair that was greying and she walked slowly with a cane. But when a young ruffian came up and tried to be an ass toward her, the individual found that cane could still be quite an effective, painful, deterrent. No one mocked her ever again. -- Anon Guest

Birron was old enough to know better. Many grownups told him that. But he also wanted to fit in with the awesome, older kids. He was willing to do

Monday, Backups, Physio, and Shopping

My physio appointment has moved up to today so I'm using the opportunity to get a few things whilst I can. Including eggs, because the fam is firkin ravenous for them.

I has moneys, so shopping is less of a concern. So is paying for my physio.

I can commence the regular bill cycle very soon, but not the irregular bills because my savings are a teeny bit shot to shit.

The big things have to wait a little while. Next payday,

Challenge #04809-M060: The Pygmalion Project

They felt the warm hand upon their stone form, their eyes opening, their flesh restoring, how long had they been asleep. The being before them had kind eyes.... "are...ze...an.. orc?"

The being looked upon them and shook a heavy head. "We're not called that." / "Iz been zleeping for a long time. Wvat...are....ze called dzen?"

"Once I set camp to rest, we can talk, is that alright?" / "Of courze."

It was a long talk late into the night, and

Sunday, Stream Shenanigans

The Archive is doing its thing. Soon, the Promptcast will be doing theirs and I shall be working as moderator on their chat.

And probably also working on the prompt from the Archive as well. Maybe even working on today's story. Going hog wild over here [/sarcasm]

I shall have money enough to start paying the bills again tomorrow. I'm going to leave it one more week before I call the Mower in to tame the yard. Insulation against disaster and all.

Challenge #04808-M059: Subject Zero

Dragon's blood is powerful, but, is said to carry a terrible curse. When the need is great, a warrior drinks the blood of a dragon for strength. -- Deathshead419

Dragons are powerful. They're a fact as large as mountains, as devastating as tidal waves, and as hazardous as living itself[1]. Thus it was no shock that lesser species required a large amount of dragon parts to make their magic.

They were warned. Take only that which was discarded, or given freely.

Saturday, Pitched Again

B'nar's been cast aside by one, so I've flinged it at another. Yay.

I got my humidifier, and Learned Something last night. Turns out I get cloggy in the bronchi during high humidity. And I somehow need more hydration in my atmosphere to ameliorate that shit.

Don't ask me, I just live here.

Anyway, my humidifier is smart enough to not add to the vapours in the air after it gets to 99% and that didn't effect my sleep, thank grop.

Challenge #04807-M058: Closed Temporal Loop

In the early morning of April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic sank beneath the waves, carrying 1,500 souls to a cold, watery grave. The story told to history is that she sank after hitting an ice berg. The truth could never be allowed to get out… -- Deathshead419

1912...

Nobody would believe the truth, not all of it. They barely believed that the Titanic sank until they saw the survivors and the remaining lifeboats. So many were lost. So much was

Friday, Sneezin' and Wheezin' Season Mitigation

I have been having a couple of severely Bad Air Days. Frequently on Max(the nebuliser), dizzy because air problems and so on. Easily solved by the stupidest mitigation ever - a fucking humidifier.

So now my PLNs include getting a big one for the bedroom since the little desktop one doesn't do so well at keeping my breathing easy.

My PLNs now include going outside, going place, and getting thing. Bleh.

Meanwhile, this morning, the rain has been landing on us
