Challenge #04845-M096: Mineral Health

They found a dragon who made a deal with them. Scrub my scales and you can keep whatever loose scales fall off. The family was shocked at such a boon. Now, four generations later, they had a full service spa for dragons of ALL sizes. Loose scales scrubbed, claws polished and trimmed, wings massaged, oils rubbed in to help with loose skin, the works. Loose scales that fell? Those were kept, polished, and made into jewelry and sold in a gift shop for adventurers that came out this way. -- Anon Guest

The family Clayfield had been potters before their clay quarry turned up a veritable trove of hard quartz. Not the kind anyone would trade for gold, nor in any kind of amount that could be traded by the sackload. So they wound up with an old barrow full of the stuff as they turned baskets of clay into slip just to sift them from their work materials.

Then the Dragon lit in the nearby meadow.

Coral Clayfield, muddy with slip up to her elbows, ventured out to meet them. She was old and had little else to worry about, and thus showed no fear in approaching a creature who could have rained fire down on her. "We don't have gold, our roof is tile and the house is brick. The rocks we have are nowhere near precious, but if you want to take the barrow, we'd like it back empty."

Monday, Backup Reads and Progress

The Archive will be sharing stories with each other this morning. I have five more chapters to read for Adorable.

...eight more to go on the WIP.

Eep.

I'm not leaving the house until Wednesday and PLN to get a cheap laser printer alongside all the other nonsense we're acquiring that day. We do need to print documents from time to time. And a laser printer promises (so far) to be the least continuing trouble when operating under irregular use. And it

Challenge #04844-M095: All Welcome Inn

They opened an Inn with a restaurant less than a half-mile from the opening to tunnels that lead to underdark cities. The rules were simple. Don't be an arse, everyone was welcome, and if you were too poor to afford food and shelter, no problem, you'll still be fed. The staff consisted of both sunsiders and people from the underdark working together, with the shift changing as the sun set and rose so that the place was always open for those in

Sunday, Chocolate Egg Day

I did the "egg salad" gag where I collected all the fun-sized Easter eggs into a bowl for communal snacking.

Mayhem had some. I had a sampler. Miss Chaos has yet to awaken and scoff. So I'm holding back.

The Archive is streaming as I type and the Promptcast will be streaming today. So most of my time will be absorbed in stream stuff.

I may or may not be working on writing while stuff goes on.

Thanks to holidays, we won't

Challenge #04843-M094: Healer's Helper

Healing halls across the land hear of a miracle wine that allows healers to see broken bones and other internal injuries so they can treat them. While some lands, mainly those of greedy rulers who think such wonders should ONLY be for the nobility, forbid their healing halls to have it, most refuse such orders and beg Wraithvine to help them set up deliveries. This will greatly aid them in their work. Just like the invention of the vermin-repelling bands did.

Saturday, Caught Up?

I got the Promptcast story done. I got the Archive thing done for the prompt Hey, Yo, I'm a [BLANK].

Yay.

I have one more day until I have one more prompt to work with for a thing. Yay.

Given the situations happening all over everywhere, my PLNs remain minimalistic for travel, same with shopping. Keep it sane. Keep it in budget. Hope I can get all the shit together and have money.

Hahaha I am so funny sometimes.

I can hope.

Challenge #04842-M093: Multi-Level Marketing

They were a "sunsider", but they went to the Everdark quite frequently for trade. They were viewed and treated as unwelcome for quite a while, until it became clear they held no prejudice against any cognizant species. They always traded fair, and had no qualms of paying even a higher rate charged due to them being a sunsider. After all, most of these individuals were treated poorly up top, they couldn't blame them for acting such toward those that came from the

Friday, Erastide Looms

As the great Bullwinkle J. Moose once said: This time for sure!

I am going to work on the Archive prompt today.

I have a good idea, I have a decent starting line. I have an immense capacity for self distraction...

And therein lies the rub.

I have PLNs and it's up to me to see them through.

I shall endeavour after I ice my silly sore ankle again.

Challenge #04841-M092: Breakout Event

"Are there any who are not human among the Pax Humanis members?"

They're rare, but there are. Let me tell you about the best hunter I ever met. A havenworlder whose first target had pushed too them far. -- Anon Guest

He had been selected for his bright plumage, and kept in conditions meant to maintain his health. Little else but that. He learned to be clever by playing dumb, just to get his captors to relax and get careless.

It took

Thursday, Continuing the Nonse

I owe my Patrons a couple of things, so I shall get on with posting those before I settle down and get on with today's tale.

Also in my agenda - writing the thing for the Archive. But that has extra time to percolate, so my Patrons are likely to see it after the weekend.

And that's okay.

Sometimes, things take time.

I got a solid start on the next chapter of ADT, and debatably have PLNs to stick in an extended

Challenge #04840-M091: Fey Touched

They sat to think and dream. But dreaming too close to a faerie circle can be dangerous. Fortunately, these beings were kind, and they got the person safe before they went too far into the maze. -- Anon Guest

It can be a terrible thing to have the soul of an artist. Especially if, like Haness, you were born into a woodcutting and herb-gathering family. Ze found hirself hoping for something more than ze had, but not knowing what it was or

Odinsday, Catching Down

It's April 1 and my PLNs to lock in and focus have been blown to smithereens by a completely forgotten appointment to figure out what the heck was going on with the sullage system. Turns out the aerator wasn't and that's going to cost me close to half a grand.

...yaaaaayyyy...

I'll figure out a way to wrangle that.

I don't have very many plns today other than locking in and getting shit done. Which also includes walking Miss Chaos through the

Challenge #04839-M090: Waif and Stray

A human, an older teen, screamed in terror when the mix of avian and reptilian havenworlders found them. They were thin, alone on that barren rock, injured, and shaking. They very gently helped the youth learn they were safe, no longer alone, and deserved kindness. -- Anon Guest

Hal knew that they were lucky to survive. They were also rather lucky that they had had an obsession with surviving seemingly impossible accidents. How to survive on a desert island. How to survive

Tuesday, Patreon and The Sads

Adapting got its fifth rejection this morning.

Sigh.

I'm planning to send it to the Promptcast crew for inspection to see what it needs, or where it could go for a proper audience. I used to believe that this thing was the perfect intro to the Amalgam Universe. It still could be.

I just don't know any more.

So alongside my hope leaving my body, I have stuff to do today. Including locking in and writing the thing for the Promptcast, the

Challenge #04838-M089: Mostly Harmless, You Say

They ran in and dragged the woman with the brightly striped belt from a building fast before the fire burst out of control. She saved them from falling to their death when a support strut failed causing the scaffolding to collapse. It was the start of an interesting friendship -- Anon Guest

The thing about responding to disasters is: Nobody thinks. They just act.

Whether it's fleeing the scene of threat, or acting counter to it. The threat spurs motion and the
