Friday, UNFUCKING and other things.

The spare room needs a solid joosh. The house needs degarbaging and we missed rubbish day this week. So it's a derecycling.

And the day after tomorrow, I have to sally forth just to pick up kitty litter. Because Costco was out when I went to pick up other stuff and things.

Bleh.

I have put some laundry on, I have stripped the bed in the spare room and put some of that in the wash. At the expense of my sinuses.

All the better to make things ready for Crimbo day.

I have stuff to co-ordinate, lables to make, bikkies to wrap for everybody, et cetera. But that can wait for another day.

I have the time and the hours to write things, so that's what I'm up to now.

Thursday, Shopping and Nonsense

We're running out of other stuff and I have to brave the pre-crimbo crowds just to get it.

...halp...

I have no idea how exhausted I'm going to be by the time I make it home, so if I am, the story for today will become part of tomorrow's twofer.

And on top of everything else... I need to make bread. Again. That will be starting tomorrow with the Grand Pre-Crimbo Unfuckening so MeMum can stay over for the big day.

Challenge #04735-L351: One Head Under the Crown

A long reigning king has reached the end. The eldest has the strongest claim, yet his rule is unlikely to last long. The middle son is inclined to autocracy, yet, deft in international politics and likely to keep the kingdom at peace. The youngest is quarrelsome with his peers, yet, sympathetic to the plight of his people. And there is the bastard, a playboy likely to leave governing to the parliament except when he wants to indulge.

Wednesday, Baking done with and Rant PLNs

I am DONE with baking for the meanwhile. Thank grop. The kids were left unsupervised with the second batch and accidentally invented something cool because they wouldn't listen to or didn't remember the original instructions.

The original plan: Dip the tops of some bikkies in treacle, then test to see if icing sugar or cornflour stopped them being sticky thereafter. The kids did the dipping and then covered them in caster sugar. AKA table sugar.

The end result is not sticky. Yay.

Challenge #04734-L350: Welcome to Pax Humanis

Such a shame, so YOUNG to be a mass-murder, they're only 10./ "Wait, they're still breathin', tho'."

What? But...such shallow breaths and restraints?/ "Th' nice cat lady an' th' scary guys say use this thingy an' th' bad men won't chase me no more!" -- Anon Guest

Timi had had quite enough of the bad men. They all came to her big house and had a lot more food that Timi and her sisters ever did and they did things to

Tuesday, Mor Bikkies, Patreon, and Technical issues

So... my laptop is dying and I know it. My fam has become aware. Even a friendo on the interwebs knows that when I use a laptop, I have to use an attached keyboard with the loud tikkatakka. And even that has moments of fail.

Meanwhilst... I got logged out of my Auspost account and I can't remember the email I used for it.

I got the second batch of crimbo bikkies going off today. We have some experiments in order today,

Challenge #04733-L349: Sensory Overload Episode

They thought it was yet another knomira sitting and screaming not getting their way. But an observant individual sees they're covering their ears and back against a wall. And realize, this isn't a knomira, it's a person who's struggling due to the size and noise of the crowd. -- Lessons

"Stoppit, stoppit, stoppit, stoppit," the voice carried over the hubbub of the crowd. Given that it was a commercial concourse on a nexus station, it was a safe bet that this was

Monday, Backups and Bikkies

The backup reads are on later today, I have collated all the ingredients necessary to make the crimbo ginger bikkies. I just need to wait for a few things. Like for the butter to thaw.

At least there's loads of eggs so I don't need to worry about that for a bit.

I can hope.

They've started into the new bread, so I'm glad I got flour for the next bread. Yay.

I'm waiting for the butter to soften before I start

Challenge #04732-L348: One Taste of Home

The camp was quiet save for the soft sound of weeping. Bibrid, in their guise as gnome, sat next to the young individual and asked what was wrong. The person was homesick, but it would be at least another month or more before they got to see home again. He, of course, listened and his best to be soothing. He understood what it was like to miss one's home. -- Anon Guest

Challenge #04730-L346: Improvised Weaponry

The pirates caught the ship's human in their jammies and socks. The human captured them by shuffling feet on soft surfaces and touching the pirates. The touches leaving painful spots. Rumor spread humans could shoot lightning from their fingers. Those that knew better knew it was just static. -- Fighting Fit

Ships' night is normally a strategic time for space pirates to attack. Unfortunately for these pirates, normal and Humans don't mesh. Human Zorq was in their BVD's and socks when the

Sunday, Stream, Eggs, and Supplies

I am getting two firkin platters of eggs this time. It seems we run out every other day. I'm kind'a sick of going. And because we are close to Crimbo, I'll stock up on a few other things.

Once the stream shenanigans are done with, of course.

I shall attempt to get the story done soon. Distraction has me in its grip, alas.

My knotted shoulder has moved up to a knotted neck. Warmth and Deep Heat aren't doing much and I

Challenge #04731-L347: This Will Pass

It's storming and the kids are scared. Wraithvine calls to Lilbit after confirming the kids have no allergies. The soft purring and pets soon have the children sleeping peacefully. -- Anon Guest

It was definitely a dark and stormy night. Between the lightning flashes, it was black as pitch out there. The wind raged against the mountains and the trees. The thunder shook dust loose from the rafters, and the children were hiding under the tables and shrieking at most peals.

Saturday, Gradual Improvements

We've cleared most of the floor in the laundry room. I've cleared a patch in my bedroom. We will eventually nibble all the issues in the household to bits. Not in time for Christmas, but it might be the new years' new thing.

I'm baking and doughing today. Baking tomorrow, and getting started on the crimbo bikkies the day after that.

Time is getting closer to the big day. Mum's anxious. I'm anxious. Weather bureau says rain in the afternoon of... It's

Friday, Mor Bread and Further PLNs

We're down to the equivalent of one loaf [the kids started a new loaf without finishing an earlier loaf] and that means I gotta make more bread. I also PLN on baking the crimbo bikkies on the 15th.

Dough today, baking and dough tomorrow, baking on the 14th... and different baking on the 15th.

Yay.

At least I have the gift wrapping sorted.

Apart from the gift labels. I'll stop by a dollar shop soon enough and get something.
