Monday, Backup Reads

The Archive's about to start reading to each other. I've somehow managed to get the video out this morning, and I hope to go nowhere and do nothing, today.

I want to go nowhere and do nothing.

My plans for the same yesterday were dashed by MeMum's compy having a cookie overload. And complicated by confusion with the instructions. So I had to haul my bum out there and sort things out.

I finally have a solution to Mum misplacing her tech notes - chaining them to the firkin furniture. So now, whenever she needs a lesson, it can go into the relevant tech notebook and NOT GET LOST. Huzzah.

There will be more excursions to educate in my future, for sure.

Today, my PLNs are limited to working on various offerings, chatting with writer friends, and otherwise having some fun.

Onwards to today's offerings.

Challenge #04697-L313: An Unnerving Supply

Conglomerated Meat Products Limited has a rather infamous reputation, beloved by customers for low prices and hated by nutritionists for how those prices are achieved. At least they were, and those detractors would love more information. Alas, the last three health inspectors to visit the plant have vanished without a trace, the police somehow never finding evidence of foul play… -- Deathshead419

On paper, it looked like a very good business. It never ran out of supply, and could fulfill a great

Sunday, Writer's Group Stuff and Things

The Archive is reading things. The Promptcast is about to read things. My things are not happening on the Archive's twitchcast, but will be happening on the Promptcast's stream.

So I'm keeping an eye on things and trying not to get distracted.

Not going great so far.

OTOH, I have written the thing for next week. Still operating on the questions to ask my future audience.

Offerings whenever I can focus on them.

Update

Had to do an emergency tech run for

Challenge #04696-L312: Important Gifts

A family gives Wraithvine a large pouch of catnip seeds for hir to grow the plant, not only as a medicinal tea, but a treat for Lilbit. -- Anon Guest

Gratitude comes in many shapes. Gifts as simple as a hug, or as complicated as an artefact that could prove useful in varied eventualities. This family could not spare much more than a small pouch of seeds. Of course they wished they could give more. Compared to how Wraithvine had changed their

Challenge #04695-L311: Remedied Choice

A traveling hellkin was a highly skilled medic who knew how to make most medicines, use magic to heal, and was an accomplished surgeon. They did not discriminate with their treatments, and only charged as much as a person was capable of paying. Even if it meant just asking for a simple meal, or, not asking for anything more, than a thank you. -- Anon Guest

If someone looked no further than first impressions, he looked like a wandering vagabond carrying a

Thursday, "Free" Day and Pay

We get income today. Huzzah. A weight off my shoulders, at least until I need to go shopping again.

Life's getting expensive.

I'm recording and arranging the next video, today. Possibly fiddling with a co-op project. And of course reviewing some fellow writers' microfictions so that I'm eligible to be read on stream.

And treating my ankle.

I want to play some games today. And tomorrow. I'll see what the assorted distractions allow me to do.

Onwards to the imaginings.

Friday, Increasing Shenanigans

I just finished writing chapter 570 of A Devil's Tale, so that means five more chapters to record for Adorable. Or maybe the eventual professional voice recording person. Whoever that may be.

I have a video to share, a story to write, some memetic nonse to indulge in... and I might even pull the finger out and arrange for the blood test that's been pending for like... a month.

Procrastination is strong when you don't want the local vampires sticking you with

Challenge #04694-L310: A Better Solution

They were born the only child in a family of immense wealth that had gained the ire of the local populace, and was taken from that place while still young and impressionable. The family were not killed, the local populace didn't want them to be able to have THAT much of an escape. Worse, the child, raised in a humble, poor, community with love, kindness, and knowing the values of a family that cared, was sent back to them older, and created

Challenge #04693-L309: Combat Hypocrisy

If war is diplomacy by violence, then the currency of exchange is in the bodies of the youth. And so a General must make his bitter calculus, choosing which men to hurl at the enemy defenses in the grim hope that the righteous side is victorious. -- Deathshead419

The best kind of war, say many philosophers, is the one you don't have to fight. Many war hawks have ignored this wisdom and prefer to throw fighting youth at the enemy until one

Wednesday, Rant Due and Other Shenanigans

I overspent again just making sure we had adequate supplies. Much though I'd love to pull my head in, we do run out of stuff.

And Mayhem has the Lurgi. It's so bad he's asked for "Shandy" - my horrible concoction of an omnicure. I made sure he also has a source of chicken soup.

In a few minutes, I shall begin making my offerings public. Starting with the storytime video. I have a co-op story to get on with, the rant

Challenge #04692-L308: There's Always a Catch

Below the waves is a shrine. Those who lay upon the alter join the sirens, gaining a new form and an enrapturing voice. And Arbin had best learn to use these new pipes, for the sacred duty of sirens is to ensure at least one is always singing a lullaby. For if the song ever falls silent, something lurking in the darkest depths may awaken at last…

Tuesday, Patreon, Shopping, and Fiction

Not necessarily dealt with in that order. It's going to be a strain on our economy, but I will get us stocked up with bits and bobs, stuff and things, and things and stuff.

Costco will be open soon, so I'll be icing my ankle ere I launch for the Leyland's tour. Everything else will be happening after I return victorious with my haul.

Gotta line up the stuff for my Patrons. Gotta get a rattle on with the side projects. Gotta

Challenge #04691-L307: In the Hour of Greatest Need

An apprentice healer saves a mysterious stranger from a fever. The thankful stranger gives the healer a box, promising that when the time comes, the box will open and the debt will be repaid. -- Deathshead419

Devryq never knew the stranger's name. They were just a fellow traveler at the waystation-house. One in need, because they were deep in a fever. Deveryq hadn't thought of rewards, just of the need ze could see to.

It didn't matter that the stranger was a

Monday, Backup Reads and Ongoing PLNs

I have new glasses, and the weight of the new lenses is causing some pain in the nose stop area. Not at all helped by there being a firkin pimple on one side, right where it would be the biggest annoyance.

I got rid of that thing, but the area still hurts.

I have finally sorted which idea to use for this week's prompt - another one I didn't vote for. So I can work on that, the prompt from the Promptcast,
