Wednesday: Leyland's Tour Electric Boogaloo

I'm doing a tech support run-around for MeMum today, and to add complications, this was one of those days where I've had...

Fucking Sleep Issues(tm)!

Yep. Came over all tired from shenanigans yesterday [my main compy is officially unfucked now yay] and went to bed super early.

Which means I achieved consciousness in the wee small hours of this morning. On one hand - more hours to do my stretchies. On the other... I'm guaranteed to want an early night tonight.

Woof.

I want to be CAFFEINATED today.

This morning was slightly disturbed by the news that Mayhem was doing APM today. He'd already rescheduled once because he was scheduled on the same day as my shrink appointment, so this is the second time that he's synced up with my other plans.

24 hours notice, thanks Buddy.

As with always when I have plans in meatspace, I shall make my best efforts to have my things out today, but if I fail, it's a twofer tomorrow.

Whee...

Now I need to get dressed and torment my feet.

Challenge #04174-K156: An Object Lesson

A drunk, razzing the elf, tries to steal hir wizard's hat. Only for the hand to be burned by an angry miniature dragon trying to protect its "lair".

https://peakd.com/fiction/@internutter/challenge-04044-k026-hoard-lair-hat -- Anon Guest

"I tried to warn you," said Wraithvine, who hadn't even put down hir tankard. "A wizard's hat is always protected. You're lucky the booze in your breath didn't light. That's a horrible way to go."

The drunkard was very suddenly sober, nursing a scorch on

Tuesday, UNFUCKED!

My PC is officially unclogged. The extraneous files have been obliterated, the old install and last traces of the old install are no longer part of the map.

...though the old install still turns up on the startup and I don't know why...

Like all desperate bargains, I paid a steep price for the fix - at least half my Firefox tabs and windows.

I can rebuild. I've done that before.

I got a couple of hours before Beloved and I go

Challenge #04173-K155: What the Boss Makes

You do not want to go there!

"Why not?"

For every day you earn working, they only allow you to keep a few seconds of it, their taxes will take EVERYTHING from you. You make clothing, and you will have it ripped from your hands and you will only be allowed to keep a few threads. They say it's for your own good, but the truth is, if you make a dollar, you will only keep a dime, and THAT is only

Monday, Bricked PC and Stream News

I currently can't run a stream today. My PC is bricked thanks to my own incompetence at doing a thing. I now must wait for Beloved to return and un-brick it because levels of technical difficulty.

I shall finish with the backup reads that are ongoing, and then get on with the important things. Feeding the cats. Creating my offerings. Trying to figure out what the flying flip I'm doing with myself for the remainder of today.

I may or may not

Challenge #04172-K154: A Very Important Side Quest

A city is having its Founder's Day. The day when a party of adventurers, humans, hellkin, and a few other races, came together to found their own town. And now, it was a large, beautiful city. A person, seeing Wraithvine and friends, comes up to them and, politely but earnestly, asks them to be their dance partner in the dance competition to be held that evening. -- Anon Guest

Much can be achieved without hate as a hurdle. Proof of such is

Sunday, Unfucking My OS

I am now operating exclusively in Linux. This took a complete new installation and drive wipe to do. I now have to wipe the other drive because nothing works over there.

Very little works over here and I don't know why.

I'm hoping that the wipe on the other drive sets things up properly and de-kinks the bugs.

Bugs like... having to hold down ALT and FN in order to type some proper quote marks and apostrophes.

I solved that last time

Challenge #04171-K153: Against All Odds

They were running with several of their friends toward the emergency escape vehicles away from a nasty, previously unknown, hazard on the planet.

Their friend starts to mention on how slim their chances are on escaping unscathed.

"Don't tell me the odds, just keep running, I always beat the odds!" -- Fighting Fit

Inspired desperation is one heck of a drug. When the chips are down, when it's do or die, incredible feats are possible.

So when the swarm burst forth from

Saturday, Parkrun and Stream PLNs

My right leg hated me, today, so I wasn't as fast as I could have been. I made it anyway.

I now have a system running entirely on Linux, but setting up is still an issue that needs resolution.

I´ll be running tomorrow's stream from the old Linux setup until I have this one properly set up for all my shenanigans.

Once I have that all lined up, I can wipe the drive with the original setup on it and then

Challenge #04170-K152: Do Not Disturb

A deregger grabbed one of the station cats by the fur dismissively. The cat clawed the he** out of them, and then several other cats pounced, biting and attacking.

Jay merely looked up from his tea with Lilicoon and Sunshine and stated "They did it to themselves." And pretty much ignored the chaos. -- Anon Guest

Friday: Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump

Somewhere in that favoured land the sun is shining bright. The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light. And somewhere the left is laughing while children play in muck...

Because that corrupt president's been found...

GUILTY AS FUCK!

Tumblr's writhing in glee over this. The Fediverse is having joyful fits. There's hosts of people chorussing the words "Convicted felon Donald Trump."

The schadenfreude is delicious this morning.

...and yes, I did look up the poem Casey at the Bat to

Challenge #04169-K151: Foiled Escape Plans

The weather was warmer than usual, and though the CEO's and their reporters were touting how this was a good thing, and that a warmer, wetter, world was good for the people, others were taking notice. While the CEO's, subtly, not so subtly, began building sea-walls to protect their mansions, the rest of the populace of the world began to defy their masters, and work on ways to curbing emissions. Those CEO's that tried to stop them... got a sharp reminder that

Thursday, Bread Prep and PLNs

I will likely be up until past 10PM today. Most of that is because juggling dough and proofing my chia sourdough.

I'll be seeing how well the new scales go tomorrow.

I know from testing that one of them displays a weight up to two grams above the other. But at least they're consistent. I can manage once I figure out where the finessing lies.

It's honestly better than having a different weight every time I put the same thing on the

Challenge #04168-K150: Clever Move

In the Alliance Paintball League, a team of former Vorax managed to finally defeat a human team. The after-party was quite a huge feast. With the humans joking going "We'll get it next year!" It was a lot of fun! -- Anon Guest

It was a good hunt. Not always high energy, but definitely high tension as both sides had stealth and cunning aplenty. In an arena like this, Deathworlder versus Deathworlder, it was anyone's guess who'd get the final shot.

Wednesday, Rant Incoming, Psych Day, and Sundry

I got myself a very crammed day, today. The daily offerings, the weekly rant, a telehealth psych appointment, and at least one side project to work on.

Yay.

The telehealth's due in less than an hour, my Smashwords account is migrating to Draft2Digital, and I do not have enough hours in the day to deal with all the stuff I have queueing up for my conscious hours.

I don't know whether it's depression or old age that's eating my days with sleep.
