There Shall Be Bread

(Music notes) So put your little hand in mine/ there ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb...

It's Day One once over again and public outcry has forced the government to allow farmer's markets to remain open even during a whole lot of plague.

Sing the chorus with me: This is how new outbreaks happen, you ignorant firkin sods.

I swear to the Powers That Be, the world is going to end through the actions of the Wilfully Ignorant. We need to make science easier to understand, or the new dark ages will come to us through a whole bunch of conspiracy theories tied to a cat.

Grumble.

Bread made my day sideways, yesterday. I still got through it and whatnot, but I went through it in the awkwardest of awkward ways.

Yay.

The dough is thawing as I type, and there shall be bread in the evening. By the night, those fresh-baked loafs will be sliced by Beloved and packed either in the fridge or the freezer. Depending.

That way, I can monitor how much bread we've got and not have to fret about it going dry or getting mouldy.

Today and tomorrow - I'm writing my story and signing offline. Watch my Instagram to see if I manage to make bread with the butts in.

Groundhog Day Zero

There's been an outbreak in Brisbane and it may be linked to the person who tested negative all the way to Japan. Investigations are proceeding at all due speed. Contract tracing and massive testing is about to spring forth.

Google doesn't want to give even one red cent to news sources it gains literally billions of dollars from advertising surrounding their searches. They're also up in arms about forced transparency behind their almighty algorithm. As a direct result, they're threatening Australians with

Groundhoggening: Day Zero

Once again, someone turned up in Queensland with symptoms. They're in isolation, but it's still Day Zero and I'm starting to get ropeable. I want to feel free to just go out and wander around and see what's what again. Instead of the laser-guided Get The Thing missions that have been all of my shopping since March.

I miss being able to just browse. I miss looking around and getting ideas from things. I miss D&D nights. I miss being

Wednesday! (Day 4)

It's a new day and there's a lack of cyclone headaches or asthma kicking my butt, so today's shenanigans will include a minimum of One Process for making the bunch of masks I've been gassing about for way too long.

It's 7AM as I write this and I am Chaos' least favourite person at the moment because I forgot to wake her at 6 like I usually do. Less time for shenanigans.

In the news:

  • Political rallies have Teh Failz now that

Tuesday! (Day Three)

I have Patreon stuff to post and the good news for the higher tiers is that I finally have a chapter of KOSBOB finished. Fresh outta the oven like yesterday because that's when I wrote a number that was higher than the last number.

Today, I write the first words in the next chapter.

In other news:

  • Victoria's quarantine hotels were filthy, which goes a long way into explaining why so many people wanted to skip out of quarantine
  • 200 people in

Day Two and it's More Fuckshit

Science has discovered that the plague can hang around in the air in small doses, but it's unknown as to whether that's enough to infect someone. So far, the chain of circumstance is looking a bit convoluted for me to be very alarmed. Nevertheless, it does explain the Superspreader incidents.

Elsewhere:

  • Protests in South Korea have resulted in a spike in cases
  • More tears for tourism
  • NSW at under ten new cases per day
  • Covid-19 has a metallic taste according to one

Day 1, once more around again

The three cases yesterday were all from outside. One already in isolation and the other two out on a boat. I don't know if they're staying there, but it's apparently a big boat and a small crew. Huzzah.

...I guess.

However, there's also Melbourne. In Melbourne, now that the numbers are crawling below 500, they seem to think that the plague is over again. This has lead to crowds of shoppers and people casually violating social distancing rules. Which, I am certain

Day Gotdang Zero

Three new cases in Queensland and no news I could see about where they were from. People are comparing Sweden's "plan" [let >5K people die for the Sacred Economy] versus New Zealand's actual action [temporary economic inconvenience for a maximum of lives saved] with a straight face. We can all see how that won't work on a larger scale because there's a real time petri dish known as the USA.

People. 9_9

China and the US continue to rattle sabres at

Gotta unfuck on Friday (Day 3)

It's foggy, we're on day three of no new plague cases, even though there's that one bloke who broke quarantine five days early and is in parts unknown. Last I heard, anyway.

I've fed the cats, fed the starters, and my harvest pancake is currently cooking. Yay. I still have yet to unfuck the house, but that is scheduled.

I'm feeling organised as heck.

Let's check the news.

  • Authorities all over the place looking very hard at frozen foodstuffs
  • NZ clamping down

Still Exhausted

I can't sleep, my body is tired, my brain is wired, and my eyes don't know where they are. Let's get today over with so I can try again tomorrow.

Apparently, I have to be willing to help Beloved cut mask pieces because they really don't want to do that one thing. Sigh. So I have to have razor-sharp timing to catch a moment when we both have time to spare and oomph to do something.

Not gonna lie, that's hard.

Today's

Day Zero. Sigh.

Two idiots in Noosa went to Sydney and then lied about where they'd been back when the borders were still more or less open. Sigh.

I think I'm detecting a pattern.

1) Idiots go into plague zone for nonsense
2) Idiots return to the alleged safety of Queensland
3) Idiots elect to LIE about where they've been
4) Idiots cavort around the scenery, potentially infecting thousands

These two particular idiots are underaged and will therefore be also suffering the wrath of parentals

Long Weekend? IDK (Day Three!)

Miss Chaos thinks today is a schoolday and she's eager to rock and roll. I don't blame her to be honest. The desire to return to routine is strong. I miss being able to go about and do whatever whenever without fear of nonsense.

...speaking of wherever and whatever, I fully expect to get that power supply for my Drobo and therefore have less to worry about when and if my extant compy dies. I still have $1.3K to save up

Sunday (Very) Early Morning

It's still Saturday as I start writing this and you know what's going on in the wee small hours during Sunday morning.

My plans today are uncomplicated.

1) Watch Toasty's stream
2) Write story
3) Look after self

There's a second day of no plague in Queensland and once again hope rises. Especially since Queensland has closed its borders once more.

I'm still trying to stay away from the news.

A Day of Indulgences

It's Saturday and I've already had way too many carbs and I'm loving it. The PLN, such that it is, is to write today's Instant and then spend the rest of my day just faffing about. Pure nonsense, no news.

Apart from this: Dogs are apparently better at detecting Covid-19 than any man-made test. Good news for us, and I hope those brave pooches don't get the plague from us Humans.

I for one welcome any appointment with Doctor Rover.

But enough

Day One Once More

No new cases today and some rumblings that yesterday's new case may be a false positive. I refuse to take chances and count the false positives as positives anywhere.

Today's agenda includes household unfuckening and no bread. We still have an entire loaf that the family is disinterested in. I shall leave the baking of bread alone for another week. The family tends to tire of a homemade loaf now and again.

Shit happens.

Speaking of immense piles of shit:

  • Calls arise
