Challenge #03709-J056: What's it Feel Like?

They're 6 ft tall, they look like great, big, fluffy, plushie versions of lizards, due to their home planet being a rather cold place, and humans are absolutely sqee'ing in delight. To the humans, these creatures, Deathworlders like them, are so absolutely adorable it's almost painful! -- Anon Guest

They were called the Quetzaloq, and they were indeed feathered lizards. They met the Humans on a frosty world they were both looking at for resort capability. For an uncomfortable moment, ape met reptile across a frosty field and both assumed the other was native to the area.

It's an honest mistake.

When they also simultaneously realised they were observing each other's duck blinds, they had a good laugh about it. Then the Humans did what Humans always do, and spread their pack-bonding all over the place.

Challenge #03708-J055: What it Says on the Tin

Only humans would be stupid enough to create a space-race track that went THROUGH an asteroid belt, and called it their "obstacle course section". Thank the POWERS the small racing shuttles had safety features! -- Anon Guest

[AN: Hollywood has mislead so many about what asteroid fields are like. So in order to enhance the reality of my imaginary future, I'm turning the obstacle course into a ships' graveyard]

Explaining the Manic Million to non-Humans was always the problem. Anything the Humans

Challenge #03707-J054: Response Beyond Rime or Reason

Some, slightly drunk, mix of young half-elves and humans sneak up behind Wraithvine and friends, and drench them in ice cold water as a prank. Thank goodness, the day WAS rather hot, though the idiots THOUGHT they were being funny. -- Anon Guest

It was a common prank. First step was to have the common spell of Frosty Touch. Second step was to have at least one pail of water. The prankers chill the water until it was gelid. Then they picked

Challenge #03706-J053: Vision Hazy, Try Again

A young goblin has a problem. Way too many of the dreams they have at night tend to come true. Especially the bad dreams. No one listens to a goblin's warnings, though. They end up asking for help. -- Anon Guest

Kosh didn't think much about it. The staff that did most of the work in the Trollhead Tavern had taken the broom from him so he could serve customers and bus tables. Honestly, he was just glad that the clientele didn't

Challenge #03704-J051: For Your Protection

Beware the pretty little flowers, their petals soft and sweet. Do not inhale their scent, my dear, or you will be off your feet. Do not touch the flower, or your fingers, they will burn. And do not eat the berries, or for a grave you will swiftly yearn. -- Anon Guest

[AN: Could be the cashew pear, but there's also the Manchineel and the Gympie Gympie to contend with. I'm going to make something up for Alfarell]

Challenge #03703-J050: For Love of You

When you feel sad and tired, remember that I always love you. This vibrating heart, even my lips can vibrate too. -- Anon Guest

Cordelia could read her husband the Earl Kormwind like a book. More accurately, she could read it like a street pamphlet handed out by any group with an agenda. One made to reach the most people with the simplest message.

It was in the lashing of his tail, the angle he held his head, and the way his

Challenge #03702-J049: Ka Mate! Ka Ora!

Is it wrong of me to want a bunch of Havenworlders to perform haka? -- Anon Guest

[AN: Absolutely not! Just a reminder that this is not my culture and I am unfamiliar with the most of it]

Of all the wonders that welcoming Humans to the Alliance introduced, nobody expected cultural sharing. The Alliance soon learned that Humans were naturally inclined to share everything they loved and, in more than one occasion, some things they hated.

Everyone knew that exposure to

Challenge #03701-J048: As You Wish

An elderly individual comes up to Gikka, while Wraithvine is giving lessons to his apprentice wizard, and the elder holds out a necklace shaped like a dragon in flight that glows with immense power. What is this charm? It holds the power to grant one wish. Any wish the wearer wants to make. But it only works once, then all the magic in it will be gone. -- Anon Guest

A wish is a terrible burden. Anyone who has one knows this.

Challenge #03700-J047: Welcome to Heaven on...

I read your latest story while at work. My coworkers wondered what the cackling was about, but I couldn't help it, it was just too amusing. I saw the comment and I would like to second it. Would you do a story where the individuals actually arrive at, and participate in, the food eating competition?

Tons of security rush into the domicile

"What's going on here?"

"It was reported you're building bombs!"

"Oh, I'm making bath bombs."

"Explosives to use while you wash??"

"No, fizzy little balls to add to a bath for aromatherapy."

"It was reported as a Bomb."

"The eavesdropper needs to learn to listen to the entire conversation." -- Anon Guest

"Explosives are not permitted in enclosed vessels," intoned the guard. "We still have to inspect the process and the product."

Human Liz sighed

Challenge #03696-J043: Scrounged Family

How do you determine who is family?

It's not by blood.

It's a simple thing, really.

Who are you willing to fight for, to die for, and protect?

Who makes you happy every time you see them?

Who worries of you, and holds your hand if you're in need?

Those are your family. -- Anon Guest

Challenge #03695-J042: Soft Space for All

Aboard a ship heading to the edge, the human creates a special room filled with pillows and stuffed animals. They are asked why the odd room? Two words, emergency de-stressing. For everyone. -- Anon Guest

They began with soft lining for the floor, walls, and ceiling. Following that were large enough soft furnishings to, as Human Bakr put it, "confound a horse."

There were also animal effigies in soft fabrics.

There were also soft, colourful lights and ur-music with calming and meditative
