Sunday, Another Embuggerance

I have been drooling over art tablets with draw-on screens since I learned they existed. It was recent kismet that allowed the fam to be able to afford one for me.

My dream come true! Except...

It doesn't like working with my OS (:

We have to find the proper drivers to make it behave like it would if I was running a Windoze machine or a Mac. Which probably means that I need to wait for a far more experienced grackle to write one. Fun.

I'm meanwhile waiting for the technogeeks of the QPP to unearth something that might actually work. And hoping for the best.

I did commit to doing, at minimum, a daily doodle.

Meanwhile-meanwhile, I'm still trying to ungrinch my knotted shoulder. I've gone past good old goanna oil and into the deep heat. Regular applications will continue until I have full movement again.

And now to work on my offerings before the cat sits on my spacebar. Again.

Challenge #04486-L102: Living Up to the Name

They had the ability to see trouble through their dreams. The brauniin village had troubles of illness, and no humans to aid caused depression. The came to the run-down house, what was left of it, to begin repairs. But each night they left out gifts of medicine, blankets, clothing, little beds, and other gifts to help treat the ill and show kindness. -- Anon Guest

[AN: Brauniin usually choose households or mortals to help and prefer to remain unobserved. This, therefore, is

Saturday, Parkrun Volunteers Soaked

It was a VERY wet parkrun, this week. I spent a majority of my volunteer time holding up my Bunnings Brolly for all the people coming in with their tokens. Yes folks, I signed myself up for token sorting.

I want to get my exercise next week, but if they need folks to help, I shall see what I can do.

In other news, I have a new toy to play with. So I'll be messing around with that at a later

Challenge #04485-L101: What Manner of Fate?

While ze could not stay due to promises and the heavy hand of Fate, sometimes Fate decided to give a kindness and let hir stay for a time to visit the young children. They were growing healthy, strong, and were as close and as protective of each other as any family could wish. They also were learning the lessons of kindness, and how to care for others as well.

Friday, A Day at Home

For four days, I at least tried to get dressed, go place, and do thing. For one of them, I gave up because feeling awful. Even on that day, I got as far as getting dressed before crawling back to bed.

Tomorrow, I have to get dressed, go place, and do thing. Again. But today? I am taking it easy. Well. Relatively easy.

I still have no idea what to put into my rant for this week. I'm feeling weary so I

Challenge #04484-L100: C'mon, You Know You Wanna

Humans teach some of their Galactic friends how to ride various ride-able animals. -- Anon Guest

Two bovines, three equines of varying sizes, a collection of ungulates, and a gently-swaying elephant. After that, the species available were diverse, bizarre, and generally accepted to be as dangerous as every imaginable hell. The Humans looking after the animals probably explained it all.

The saying went, If it's too big to fit in their house, the Humans will try to ride it.

This was not

Challenge #04483-L099: Inspired Desperation

The assassin tried for the apparently sleeping wizard with the cat in hir lap. The tiny gnome, a dragon in disguise, seeing the assassin's thin hand said "Ask for help instead, it'll be far less painful, and they'll help you escape your contract." -- Anon Guest

[AN: Whoop. Forgot about Bibrid. He doesn't have to be in every Wraithvine story you know]

With catlike tread, a cautious way Zeb felt. It was pitch black inside the inn when it was this close

Wednesday, Feeling Much Better

Good sleep and lots of hydration helped me shake off the lurgi nonsense. So today is going to include shopping as well as my general offerings.

I'm trying to branch out, get my works seen - or heard - by other audiences. It took me a while, but I've found some arenas that might welcome my short stories and I'm trying them out one by one. I might dig up one of the older ones I'm proud of for a scifi podcast

Challenge #04482-L098: One Good Turn

Only sheer willpower allowed this young human to drag this very badly injured elf and hir gnome friend to safe shelter. Despite their own injuries and exhaustion so profound they could barely even see straight anymore, they had only one thought. They could not let these two die. It was only after applying bandages they collapsed to the floor, and blacked out. -- Anon Guest

The wall of water had come out of nowhere. Lilly was fortunate to have grabbed a log

Tuesday, Patreon, PLNs and Embuggerances

I started this morning with trip-hammer sneezing and an asthma attack that the preventer is only just now dealing with. Then I had to confirm that a chair in our house really had to be thrown out because it had mould.

It did, and it did have to be thrown out. I enlisted Mayhem for help, had to clear a path [it's a big chair], and bent my thumbnail backwards in the process. Ow.

And I have PLNs to go shopping today.

Challenge #04481-L097: Place of Special Interest

You find them in odd places, people clustered in groups, armed with note books or 'guides to'. Focusing on what seems like nothing in particular or hovering at railway station on spots near the tarmac at airports. "Spotters", "Twitchers", eager to see or spot something rare. Planes, birds, rare engines. -- She Who Knits

There was a shelter-house at the crossroads. Generally a place for travelers to find relief from the weather. They were expected to restock the firewood and any long-term

Monday, Back in Business!

I have my compy back at last and now I can focus on the offerings. The backup reads went well and I got props for a "female gaze" moment in one of the reserve stories I had for the event.

Now that the compy is back in place, I have to defend my keyboard from the cats. Because removal and restoration stirred up my desk debris.

This is only slowing me down. I'll be getting on to the offerings shortly. Of the

Sunday, Plans Gang Aft Agley

I was going to take a leisurely morning and tune into AMothintheArchive's story-reading stream, do my wrist stretchies, and see if I could actually unriddle the workings of Zhrythm at last.

Then I tried to start my main compy and got an embuggerance.

So my plans to have an early night and run a game are shattered. My plans to make my offerings and tool around with things are also in shards. Now I have to get dressed, go place, and do
