Challenge #04755-M006: Two Dogs Cold

The ship had to land, fortunately it wasn't cheese grater, but there was damage. The place they landed was freezing, locked in the dead of winter. The human protected the ship with an igloo, but what really saved the captain and the two small crew members besides the human? A big, fluffy newfoundland dog, and an equally fluffy, if a bit wriggly, husky. Who, for once, wasn't constantly complaining. -- Anon Guest

[AN: They might be lucky that one of them wasn't a Caucasian Shepherd Dog]

It was cold outside. The atmosphere was technically breathable, but not very nice. For health or for general attitude towards existence in general and existence in this place. Nevertheless, Human Joop was out there, making bricks out of snow. Ze had a shovel, a timer, a store box without a lid, and a livesuit good enough "to keep the wind off".

Whenever the timer bleeped, ze would stop what ze was doing, trudge inside the ship, and take a break for hot soup and hotter coffee.

It was the work of many hours to cover the ship over in snow, and Captain Xae got to breathe a little easier. Because Tiny, Joop's Newfoundland, got up from 'incubating' him and the rest of the crew to go greet their Human. Nanuk, Joop's Husky, soon trotted after for their share of pats and scritches.

Tuesday, Patreon and Bread

We're down to our last loaf of bread so I shall be informing Miss Chaos that she's making the next batch. That will be happening later in the day. When she's conscious.

Meanwhile, I have Patreon stuff to post, a story to write, and an ankle to ice every two freaking hours.

And thanks to Trackbear, I now know that I've written almost 13K words for various creative works in less than a firkin week. I had NO IDEA I was that

Challenge #04754-M005: The Better Decision

King Kormwind, tenth of that name. Looked upon the kid that had tried to drive a blade into him.

"What lord sent you?"

The kid shook their head, eyes wide with terror, their thin hands still grasping at a blade long since removed from them.

"Alright, first food, then medical care, then a bath and rest. Then I find out what idiot needs correcting this time." -- Lessons

His dad had warned him about shit like this. He told it as the

Monday, Writer's Group Shenanigans

The Promptcast is racing toward one million communal words this year. We're already at two percent and the first week of January hasn't even passed.

We're a loquacious bunch, it seems.

And competitive.

We're racing each other to put words into works and it's astonishingly fun. Keeping an eye on the Archive just in case they decide to meet, too.

I may also plug the idea of a year's goal to the Archive and see if we can get some friendly competition

Challenge #04753-M004: Enough of a Difference

Always so many this time of year. They were but infants, some with horns and tails, some with halos and wings. Some ordinary human, but born abnormal, some from other races. Left out on snowbanks, frozen middens, on game trails, or just sitting in frigid confusion, too cold and tired to cry anymore.

With magic and love, she brought them into her traveling tower. She was a harvest maiden, and she harvested the discarded and unwanted. Her family, formerly discarded, helped her

Sunday, Streams and Stuff

I had to beg off doing a query letter because backache, headache, and what eventually revealed itself to be a fever.

I'm making myself some super lazy ginger garlic chicken soup, just in case I have full-on Lurgi. The super lazy part is that I am using things I already have at home, and doing as little as possible in the prep department.

Hello slow cooker, my old friend.

An absolute blessing when you're out of spoons.

I'll get that going after

Challenge #04752-M003: A Bigger Slice

At a highly, abundantly, productive farm planet designated Kestino 12, though humans called it Always Full, was a huge feast where anyone who wanted to come, Alliance member or not, could come had have a good meal.

Sadly, dereggers, who seem to be he universe's designated party-poopers, seem to have a problem with the idea of a bunch of people getting together to hire out a planet to give everyone a FREE meal. -- Anon Guest

Saturday, Query Draft 3

I spent two hours prawning over my laptop and writing fanfic in the wee small hours, and for some reason my back hurts. Correlation is not causation. I need more data on this.

I have no idea how to log in to my KDP account and withdraw Free Baby so that's a pain in the arse for me.

I'll unriddle this in the fullness of time.

There has to be a way to find the account associated with the publication. Or figure

Challenge #04751-M002: Frozen Battlefield

They take a couple of class 1 and class 2 deathworlder friends to a human hockey game. The galactics are rather shocked at how violence features into what the humans call, a friendly exhibition match. -- The New Guy

[AN: I know bloody well present-day hockey has rules and procedures to prevent or de-escalate aggression. It's almost adorable]

There's entire comedy routines about Deathworlder sports, and how they symbolically boil down to various hunting activities. Kill the ball, kill the person with

Friday, I Sense a Cyclone

There's a low pressure system somewhere within a 500km radius of my location and my face is feeling it. I've taken my painkillers and hoping that they actually work this time. If they don't, I have another timer running so I can get a safe, second dose.

Meanwhile, I get going on other stuff. Today's story, cleaning catboxes, creating a VERY rough query letter for Beauties and the Beastly. That sort of thing.

Then I go back around and refine the things

Challenge #04750-M001: All Alone, More or Less

Victoria Constance Emalia Stanford has had the most dreadful week. Her birthday voyage has ended in an oh so unfortunate shipwreck, her favorite dress is ruined, and she’s washed ashore on an island inhabited by volcano worshipping natives. But, what’s this? Their so called God king is so handsome, so hot, strong like stone.

Perhaps next week won’t be so bad…

Thursday, New Year's Day

It's 2026 and we're all hoping for good news this year.

Unfortunately for me, I started the new year with a pre-migraine blind spot. I have taken my painkillers and I'm hoping they save my ability to can.

And yes, I already put words into ADT.

Now to commence the collection of stories for this year. Whilst editing the old collection for errata.

At least I have the cover sorted. Huzzah.

Onwards to creating this year's first element of nonsense.

Challenge #04752-L365: His Little Sister

Nineteen years have passed since Karkaul was blessed, and her son has grown into an able, popular priest of the faith. But now his father rumbles and the boy, who’s always seemed so human, must dive into the depths of his father’s molten core and seal that rift guarded only by faith in his heritage.

Karkaul's son was named Nalani, and was almost typical of a demigod. His skin was as dark

Wednesday, New Year's Eve

The year is grinding to a close and I still don't know what I'm doing with myself. Everything is, as always, sideways. But at least I'm having fun with the fic/drawing exchange with Mr. Crowbar.

Come January, I enter another year of attempting to finish off ADT. Maybe this will be the one that does it.

The count of remaining chapters dwindles ever downwards. Unless catastrophe, I should be able to get it down and thereby start to get it out.

Challenge #04748-L364: Sealed Recall

Whilst diving through an archive, Wraithvine comes upon a volume chronicling hir own adventures. A nostalgic read turns bizarre when ze comes upon a tale which ze does not recall experiencing. Surely its an exaggeration, a conflation with another's myth.

Only, it weighs on Wraithvine, the language and details making it uncanny. Only investigating this fully will let hir know the truth of this lost memory… -- [Deathshead419](https://www.internutter.org/bb/user/deathshead419]
