Day Zero

A 364-post collection

Sunday, Day 0, Stream Shenanigans

I don't have news regarding whether or not today's one case is an import or not, but I'm betting on import. There's sixty-three active cases and sixty-two of those are in hospital. Only one with the potential to be on the loose.

There's two streams today and I really hope to be awake for both. Fingers crossed.

The good news for me is that I started a ball rolling. Turns out Jobseek(er/ing) is no longer a thing and now there's an app for that. MeMum will be alarmed [Mum, if you're reading this and need to track down tradies, the search term is i4T. I'll show you next tech visit]. The good news for Miss Chaos is that her long-awaited motivational object is finally on its way. I don't have to ring people about it.

Huzzah.

In the news:

  • Splash section full of mourning Royals
  • Hospitals using gloves full of warm water for Plague patients to keep their hands warm and comfort them
  • Old shipwreck surfaces on the shores of NSW
  • More vaccines spark blood clot concerns
  • Snakes on a Car, not the sequel to Snakes on a Plane captured on camera. The green snake was on the outside whilst the family was on the inside

And now, I watch Toasty do Arting. Story somewhere after that.

Saturday, Day 0, Overindulgence

I've already had noodles. I've already had some peanut brittle. I've had too much lolly water and I'm feeling a little nauseated. Blah.

I have eleven hours to write one story. Bet it takes me all of that to get it done. I spent all of yesterday doing all my various bits of work. I got it done all the same.

There's a parcel on the way and, given the shenanigans with this one, I'm thinking of ordering the next Grand Prize

Friday, Day 0, Exhausted

I woke up at a little past one in the morning, today. It's half-past six now so you can bet I'm about ready to fall over.

HOWEVER, I also have domestic unfuckening overdue and a thousand words I want to write and a Bikkie in Progress(tm) currently cooking. Woot.

The PLUS side being that some ducks are lined up nice and neat. Miss Chaos has her very own bank account, and the Tax File Number is in the post. Huzzah!

Thursday, Day 0, Further Shenanigans

Day Two without local transmission, but there's six imports, so technically Day Zero. Seventy-three total cases, sixty-seven in hospital and one in the ICU. That's six with the potential to sneak out and raise hob.

Today, Miss Chaos is getting her bank account herself and Beloved and I will be teaching her how to do net banking, how to be wary of interweb scams and so on. I already told her to stay the heck away from wish dot com. Not only

Tuesday, Day 0, Learnding!

I've taken some baby steps on Clip Studio Pro, this morning. Yay. Now my vid-making "studio"1 has a new logo. Reveal under the spoiler-cut for those who are catching up. Lol.

Four new cases today, all of them imported. Seventy-five total, seventy-one are in hospital and two of those are in the ICU. Four have the potential to start the local transmissions again.

Queensland is once again counting the days without local transmission. Yay. That's an experience I won't miss when

Monday, Day 0, SESP Lives!

I have been investigating and learning and finding out. I can use what I already have to make SESP1 a thing again. Which means spending some of my hours working on a thing for the thing. Yay.

Labors of love take a hot while.

Meanwhile, in news of the plague, there's one new case and it's imported. Seventy-two active cases, seventy-one in hospital and two in the ICU. That's as many as one with the choice to break free and wreak

Sunday, Day 0, Enough sleep?

Three new cases, one domestic and two imported. Seventy-four active, all of them are in hospital, and two of them are in the ICU. This now reveals that my math has been off about everything this entire time. Yay.

Ugh. At least I've learned that those in ICU are a subset of those in hospital.

Still not looking at the news. The lockdown and global shenanigans combined to make me sleep a lot because anxiety and depression can synergise like that. I

Saturday, Day 0, Hiding?

Eight new cases, one local, seven imported. Eighty-two active, seventy in hospital and one in the ICU. That leaves eleven that could get loose and cause a whole bunch of trouble for Queensland. Sigh. So much for end-of-summer beach time.

Ah well. Better safe than sorry.

Today, I take some well-deserved me-time and an early sleep so I can be awake in the wee smol for Toasty's stream. I may catch up with Critical Role. I may fall asleep to hideous murders.

Friday, Day 0, Fish Day

TEN firkin new cases, but only one of those is local so whack-a-doo, let's go to the coast YAAAAAAAYYYY... Eighty-two active cases, sixty-seven in hospital, one in the ICU; which leaves FOURTEEN of them to go out and create havoc if they come over with a massive case of the Knomira's.

Yeah nah I'm not going firkin anywhere these holidays and I shall be watching all of this inevitable mayhem unfold from my mountain fastness. Thank you for asking. Door price is

Thursday, Day 0, Maundy Moneys

Not only is it Maundy Thursday - the traditional day when the highfalutin hand out "Maundy Money" - it's also April Fools' Day. At least in Aus. Tomorrow's when the pranks really emerge from the intertubes. Be warned.

I'll probably stick to puns when I get to thinking them up.

Today, the PLN is to do my usual work nonsense with unfucking the house on the side because tomorrow is a public holiday. Yay.

I may or may not get on that

Wednesday, Day 0, Wordpress

TEN new cases, eight of those local transmissions. Seventy-eight total, sixty-four in hospital, two in ICU, which leaves twelve with the relative freedom of a hotel room until they are clear. Masks are mandatory for when you go anywhere and we are hunkering and bunkering and just being blobs for the interim.

Judging by the acceleration, we're going to be locked down for a lot longer than the three days. We've done this before and we can do it again. Of course,

Tuesday, Day 0, Locked Down

Brisbane, and perhaps the greater portion of Southeast Queensland, has been locked down for three days. I got this news in the afternoon of yesterday. Ten new cases this morning, four of them local. Seventy-three total active cases, sixty-three in hospital, and two in the ICU. That means eight people are stuck in a well-furnished box and bingeing Netflix or whatever.

I... am trying my hardest not to spiral into my previous lockdown mood, which was huddling in the bedroom and seeking

Monday, Day 0, here comes Scheherezade

Three new cases, Seventy-one total, sixty-six in hospital and two in the ICU. So that's three left spinning their wheels in a hotel somewhere. According to our PM, only one of those new cases is a local transmission.

Adding to the panic is the fact that the bloke initially diagnosed said he held a party whilst still infectious. Miscommunication, actually, since the party consisted of him and his four housemates, who are already isolated.

Grrr.

TAFKASPG has continued being an annoyance, so

Sunday, Day 0, It's Loose

There's another case of local transmission this morning. Six new cases. Seventy-one total. Sixty-two in hospital. Two in the ICU. That's seven with the potential to cause even more trouble.

I'm not looking at the news this morning because Toasty's streaming already and there are untold PLNs of Beloved happening later on after sunrise. So now I'm trying to get as much done before I find out what else is going on.

I may be required to drive after minimal sleep -_

Saturday, Day 0, Scramble

According to the government, there's seven new cases and the news is a new local transmission. I heard ten cases yesterday afternoon, but I have to trust the official sources.

Sixty-nine total cases [not nice], sixty-two in hospital, two in the ICU... and five remaining in captivity. It's hard to not panic.

Case 0 is in Stafford and has been communicable for a week. The alert is out for the Brisbane and Moreton City areas, so not in my or MeMum's neck
