Plague Diary

A 2039-post collection

Monday, Day Zero again

Two more cases related to known ones. Blargh. Meanwhile, anti-lockdown protesters in Brisbane are trying so very hard to get more lockdown. Way to go, people. The reason you think the plague is a hoax is because you were protected by the firkin lockdown. Gah.

Around and around and around and around...

Vaccine talk is increasing globally and it's plausible that, in a few short months, the anti-vaxxers will be the biggest problem in stopping the plague.

I still say Hoaxers should be put on bedpan duty in the covid wards. One way or another, it will shut them up. I'm very uncharitable about the people keeping MeMum locked in her house and unable to socialise. She's a technophobe and needs someone there to install things, so webcam noise is not an option.

Sigh.

I glanced at the news and most of it was wailing about the economy. The economy is tanking because all of you prioritised business over people. Now you're paying the price because this damned plague is STILL HERE.

Growl.

Onwards to the nonsense you expect out of me.

Sunday, and another Day Zero (sigh)

Honestly, I'm making note of what day it is to help me keep track. The groundhoggening is real, folks. I had a glorious slug day yesterday and I now have a crick in my neck from Gamer Lean.

Today's case is related to a known one. Yay?

You know that old console thing where you'd shift your body or tilt the controller to influence your performance on the screen? That. Only apparently I get right up to my monitor and tilt my

Saturday - Day One!

Finally and at last. One. DAY. With zero nonsense from the Karen Squad, anyone related to the Karen Squad, or anyone within six degrees of anything the Karen Squad might have breathed on.

I still remember when we were within two days of Day Fourteen. All the same, this morning's news. is a relief from all the Day Zeroes that have been happening.

Here's to many more days of no plague.

Yesterday had me all over everywhere. I learned about ReTurn -

Shenanigans! (Day Zero)

There's outbreaks in North Queensland linked to sewerage somehow. I'm vaguing on the details but there's also a beach? I don't know if it's related, so don't go connecting any dots.

We've had a firkin WEEK of Day Zeroes and it's honestly shitting me off. There's like five different articles calling for all of Australia to "finish the job" and I bet that's going to involve locking up all the firkin Karen Squad.

So far:

  • It's a Student-Free day for Chaos
  • Mayhem

Thursday, Further Shenanigans, and Whoops No Ducks (Also Day Zero)

I'd ask what else could go wrong, but I know what happens to people who say blatantly silly things like that.

Long story short, the ducks I thought were ready to march are still lost in the pond. I will chase them down when I find some of that elusive free time. Today's shenanigans include finally changing the batteries in my car so Mayhem can get some driving in during the nonsense this arvo. Yay.

There's two more cases and they're all

So Here's Teh PLN... (Day Zero)

Two new cases closely linked with a school (institution) and a hospital (also institution). Then there's that muggins from Victoria who got bagged by border control in Brisbane airport. Thanks, arsehat. Now an entire plane of people have to put their plans and lives on hold because you had to be an entitled git.

Onwards with Teh PLN because some of this nonse can't wait for one arsehat. I made myself a busy day. Just look at this:

  • Instant story
  • 100 words

Tuesday and still day zero

Only one new case today and no news to find about where it is. My bet is Wacol. If not Wacol, then some institution where the protocols are sacrificed for cost-cutting.

Today, I shall offer up things I've written to my Patrons, and do my Instant as usual. There's also a minimum of a hundred words in KOSBOB that I'll do during Bus O'Clock.

Good news - I've returned to making those masks.
Bad news - I burned my finger in the

Monday - Day Zero, the Groundhoggening

Four more cases from Wacol. Again. There is definitely a pattern. Meat processing and institutions are hotbeds of infection.

New Zealand is emerging from their second wave lockdown and will now have to be on alert for the third. As long as the plague rages somewhere, places with sense will have to be firkin paranoid.

China now has a 'carrier killer' and the sabre rattling between them and the US intensifies.

One of the covidiots who went ackers from quarantine will become

Sunday! (Day Zero)

Four new cases, all linked to previous ones already found. No sign of Patient X as far as I know. Which makes the planned get-together later today potentially "interesting"...

None of us have been anywhere near the infected zones, but there's still Patient X. The unknown, infectious, potentially asymptomatic person who came into contact with the Melbourne Shoplifters, and is now roaming around random places and causing outbreaks in surprise locations.

Calling it now, they're a maskhole Karen for sure.

I have

Saturday, and more Day Zero

Three new cases linked to Wacol. Sigh. They really need to rummage through the back drawers to find where the flaws are in the protocol there. Then put some firkin plaster over it. Or something.

Today's PLN is very simple:

  • Write Instant
  • Eat carbs
  • Play games
  • Sleep early
  • Be up close to midnight to watch Toasty stream early in tomorrow

Yay.

I'm still staying away from a majority of the news, but it seems like institutions [for the elderly, for the disabled,

Friday (Day Zero)

Two new cases, according to the Queensland government. No details on the site I use about how when or why. I will likely find out from MeMum at a later interval.

I'm skimming the headlines, and apparently some Emus are dying of bird flu. Bad for Australia all around.

A returned traveller in Quarantine is suffering because asthma plus dust mite allergy plus a lack of balconies. I sympathise. She's definitely not a Karen, because she's been gracious to the people responsible

I never did get the hang of Thursdays (Day Zero)

Yet another case linked to those Covidiots who went to Melbourne to go shoplifting -_- As far as I'm aware, they still haven't tracked down the Patient X who's the missing link between some cases they've found so far. As far as I'm aware, the second wave in NZ still doesn't have a single source.

That's what makes this plague so horrific.

One asymptomatic person with a lot of contacts can wreak a lot of havoc.

I'm still staying away from

Wednesday! Day 1!

Today's Wordpress is probably going to be about helping the Long Haulers adapt to their new normal. The Chronically Ill community is having a sudden influx of scared, confused, and possibly angry people who are suffering and they need an understanding voice.

Even if they listened to the Muppet, and caught the plague, it is still not their fault that they caught it. Blame lies on the advisor if anyone. Infectious diseases are non-descriminatory.

Today, I am keeping Discord over on another

DAY ZERO TERTIUS

One new case, so I'm happier about my place in the world. Physically speaking, I'm still under my rock and growling at anything that gets too close.

Sometimes, it feels like MeMum and I are the only ones who have been doing Polite PPE for the duration of the damn plague.

Mayhem's having a birthday today - nineteen! I'm letting him sleep in because we have cake later in the afternoon.

The things I can do on my compy are getting smaller

Monday (Day Zero Secundus)

It's Monday, there's two new cases today, which is less than the alarming nine of yesterday. I feel secure in allowing Miss Chaos to keep attending school, but I shall be keeping a weather eye on the case count.

A very paranoid weather eye. My firkin life is on the line. Even though it feels like I'm the only one who cares about that, I'm probably the most important person who does. If that makes sense, then what are you doing in
