Saturday, Day 0, Scramble

According to the government, there's seven new cases and the news is a new local transmission. I heard ten cases yesterday afternoon, but I have to trust the official sources.

Sixty-nine total cases [not nice], sixty-two in hospital, two in the ICU... and five remaining in captivity. It's hard to not panic.

Case 0 is in Stafford and has been communicable for a week. The alert is out for the Brisbane and Moreton City areas, so not in my or MeMum's neck of the woods. Nevertheless, I've made certain I know where my mask is. I'll be carrying it with, just in case. I'll make sure I also have gloves, also just in case.

Thank the Powers That Be that I'm not allergic to the hand sanitiser that's all over everywhere. MeMum isn't that lucky, and has to sanitise gloves. Double-masking [one to protect you, the other to protect me] seems to be the rising style so IF I trip over a packet of the paper surgical masks, I'll grab it for my family needs.

Why am I mentioning MeMum? Tech Support. I have to find files and unfuck apps as well as teach How To Screen Phone. It's going to be stressful for both of us. What I don't know is whether or not Beloved or any other member of the fam is joining me on my adventure.

In the news:

  • The Evergiven, owned by company Evergreen [just to confuse people] is still stuck in the Suez Canal. The hopes of 10% of the global economy rest entirely on what one relatively small backhoe is doing to liberate the Evergiven's prow. Blame lies not on the ship captain, but the mandatory guide vessel who apparently didn't know what they were doing. This is going to have consequences for as long as a decade for sure
  • UK strain is loose in Queensland, but not anywhere that I have been
  • Bindi Irwin had a kid. It's a girl
  • New Suicide Squad movie promises a lot
  • MP who trolled women on Facebook laughed and said he didn't know what he was apologising for. If I was running the world, he'd be put in a cage and negged by pretty ladies until he wanted to scrub his entire skin off. Then he'd have to write an essay connecting what he did to what he experienced. I'm an angry B-word
  • Inspirational speaker with interesting deformity catches Covid, puts work on hold
  • Anti-lockdown protestor fighting arrest in court
  • More about the Evergiven and the massive clusterfluff as it unfolds
  • CCTV shows a girl outsmarting a potential predator
  • Now's the best time to travel! Please fund the tourism industry in a time of VIRULENT PLAGUE! We had to sell our spare yacht last week...
  • One of the key ladies in the continuing Parliament shenanigans has accepted an offer to meet ScoMo. I kind'a hope she kicks him in the nuts
  • News about Biden's palm notes, when they didn't give a shit about the Muppet's LARGE PRINT speech notes on foolscap...

I'm going to write a story, and then figure out what's happening today.

Friday, Day 0, Shenanigans Commence

There's three new cases, sixty-five active, sixty-two in hospital and one in ICU. Two apparently free to chill in a hotel somewhere. At least according to my math. I have all sorts of assorted shenanigan going on and one big difference between now and every other Friday before.

Today is Payday!

::curlytoot noise::

That's right, folks. I'm giving myself money I've already earned at a rate sufficient to fly under Mr Taxman's radar. Don't worry, I also already earned it at a

Thursday, Day 0, Keep rolling rolling rolling...

I made a phone call! I got the data! I've got things shifting about! WHEEEE!

There's four more cases, sixty-seven total, sixty-two of those are in hospital... and one in the ICU. Four people are relatively free.

Thanks to an unexpected hike in Bitcoin at a local level, I now have a LOT more than I need. I'm plotting to help some people out wherever and whenever I can. But I'm still siphoning off value from my Peakd account because the fuckup

Wednesday, Day 0, the Germans have a word for this...

Three new cases this morning, sixty total, fifty-seven in hospital and one in ICU. Which means that two of them are apparently waiting for the inevitable. Argh. At least they're all from other places and we don't need to worry until one of them escapes the security measures.

What the Germans probably have a word for is "the sensation that your life has become needlessly complicated". And to be honest, there's a definite sense of "the house that Jack built" to the

Tuesday, Day 0, Shrinky Shenanigans

Four new cases, today. Fifty-eight active cases. Fifty-four in hospital, two in ICU. That leaves only two who are spinning their wheels in quarantine. The artist formerly known as Spanish Prison Guard[TAFKASPG] has decided to knuckle down and actually do the work they promised me. I hope.

They've turned suddenly polite now that I don't have a lot of ready cash to siphon from my Peakd account. I remain suspicious.

Today, I am writing everything on the go. Today, I am

Monday, Day 0, PLNs in motion

There's two new cases, today. The total active count's at fifty-four, with fifty-two of those in hospital and two in the ICU. Nobody's chilling in a Queensland hotel today.

I'm draining my Peakd account, which is a test of endurance, and watching the markets as they haver and haw. With good fortune and good timing, I shall be able to have the money I need to finally fix the bathroom by June. It's just that slow, folks.

I mean, look at this:

Sunday, Day 0, Stream Day

Four new cases, giving us a total of fifty eight active cases. Three patients in ICU, fifty-four in hospital. So I'm guessing that only the four newest ones are the ones who aren't in hospital yet. This is scary beans. No local transmission, but... also more chances of it kicking off.

I'm powering down my Peakd account for reasons that are related to the continuing need to fix our bathroom before the sink finally breaks someone's leg. There's other reasons, but I'm

Saturday, Day 0, Shenanigans

There's nine new cases. NINE. Fifty-eight active cases. Only nine of them are chilling outside a hospital. Yikes on bikes going on hikes.

Despite my inclinations to buy a bunker at this point, we have a scavenger hunt today. Digging up or obtaining the things necessary for Chaos' planned two-day jaunt in the wilds of the Aussie bush. There's a lot of stuff. Fortunately we have some of it from Mayhem's days in the Scouts [all five of them lol] but there's

Friday, Day 0, Digging a bunker...

There's EIGHT firkin new cases, all from overseas, and the total depends on who you're asking. Forty-eight in Premier Palaszczuk's twitter, Thirty-nine if you're looking at the government website. Either way, I'm e-shopping for bunker options in case it turns into the zombie apocalypse.

Kidding. The closest I get to leaving my house is going out to eliminate weeds in the yard. I personally pulled up enough goatweed and cobblers' pegs1 to clear access to the shed for the landbarge. Yay.

Thursday, Day 0, I Have PLNs

Six new cases, totaling forty-one, thirty-five are in hospital and one is still in the ICU. So that means five people are chilling in their hotel rooms and awaiting freedom.

Beloved has received a pair of gloves they don't remember buying. Perhaps they are in lieu of the fun-sized chainsaw they ordered and still haven't received. That alone makes me less inclined to buy that fab lying-down desk I keep seeing whenever I browse Tumblr on my phone. But oh the temptation.

Wednesday, Day 0, Wordpress

Two new cases, all captured in quarantine. There's thirty-five active cases, thirty-three in hospital and one in ICU... which leaves just one sufferer in relative comfort. Still scary beans.

This week marks the last installment of Destiny's Fools, which means next week is my time to go off about stuff for a bit of a while. Be warned.

In the news:

  • Concerns over the AstraZeneca vaccine causing problems are being ignored
  • ScoMo warns all of Aus about the PNG plague situation
  • Stonkloads

Tuesday, Day 0, Patreon Due

Six new cases this morning, leaving a total of thirty-eight active cases and all of them are in hospital. Yeeks with beaks, folks. Bunkering too hard to tell the difference between me and a hermit at a glance.

I'm posting my Patreon nonsense today. And I haven't written enough other nonsense to supply my $1 Patreons. I need to complete something real soon now or my Patrons are SOL... And so am I because I can't afford to suspend fees again. Plague

Monday, Day 0, Better news

Only one new case today, and the active cases have dropped to thirty-six. A little bit of relief, but definitely not enough. The new case could be one for the history books, but that's awaiting tests to be certain. So here I stay, under my firkin rock.

My phone's newsfeed has been going off about how Hollywood has decided to come to Sunny Queensland and other Aussie destinations so they can do plague-free filming. I can only hope that every single one

Sunday, Day 0, Slug Day

I'm actually writing this [or starting to] at 11PM on Saturday night. Sunday will be happening inevitably. I've been awake since half-past nine.

There's four new cases on the site I consult and the active case count of forty-two. All in hospital. Worrying. On one hand, people are getting better. On the other hand... forty-two fucking cases. Yeeks.

I'm going to watch Toasty's stream, write a flash fiction, sleep, and perhaps catch on episode of Dimension 20 if the mood moves me.

Saturday, Day 0, Feast Day

There's two new cases and a total of forty active cases. I saw one piece of news where Brisbane Hospital is on lockdown because a nurse got infected. ...yaaaayyy...

So close to hiding behind my mask again and getting that Plague Doctor cosplay after all...

Ugh.

There's no noodles and no sugary goopy ice cream, so my PLNs include a short trip to the carb shops to get myself some treats.

But first, the news:

  • Meghan Markle apparently playing 3D Chess with
