Plague Diary

A 2019-post collection

Friday, Shaking it off.

The entire house has Lurgi. Mayhem's got a stomach upset to go with the runny nose, clogged sinuses, and general lack of energy.

I'm... mostly okay. The head fog is terrible. It's like a sneak peek into living with dementia. Words have been escaping me, I've had to wait for the loading screen to get to 100% before I remember why I entered a room. I spent a majority of yesterday reminding myself to get petrol and then forgetting to do that.

It's concerning.

I have secured the ingredients necessary for my gift to everyone, but have decided to hold off until a bit closer to the actual holiday to bake them. So they remain fresh and tasty by the time of the actual day.

I shall also make certain that I have all the things necessary to make them pretty presents, too.

And hide under a rock for the next pay cycle because, despite my best efforts, I overspent yesterday.

At least we have enough supplies to help the entire family fight off this dratted bug. Including enough Shandy ingredients to last out a siege.

Thursday, PLNs in Process

I finally had an affordable idea of what to give the folks I love this year. Yay. Small amount of shopping to do, a little ingredient hunting, but otherwise I'm confident about the yuletide celebrations. Huzzah.

I had to figure out which of my prompt stable was Hollidays-branded and then I came up with a bunch more. Thanks, Archive. Now I have way more in my stable than before.

  • Tech bros have made customer service GenAI bots. I now have fuel

Wednesday, Rant due, but Lurgi

I don't know about doing anything extra today. If I do put up something, it'll probably be about home remedies. Because I can share something about that with minimal thought.

...and speaking of minimal thought, Satisfactory is running its Ficsmas event and there is little more fun than running around an alien world, scooping up falling presents, and listening to the in-game AI chide you about wasting time.

It's very tempting, not going to lie.

So is crawling back to bed.

Mayhem's

Tuesday, Home Remedies and Recovering

Adorable sent me some supplies, yesterday, and I began with mixing up some Shandy. Today, I've set up some Ginger Garlic Chicken Soup. It's brewing in the slow cooker as I type. I might be making some rice to go with because digestive issues.

I'm still focussing on getting enough rest and fluids.

As for symptoms, the running nose is technically slowing down, but I'm still sneezing myself hoarse, coughing myself dizzy, and nursing the headache from hell.

Hoping the painkillers kick

Monday, Lurgi'd and Bread

I did not bake bread yesterday. I kind of have to do that today. I may be doing so at a rate slower than an arthritic snail.

But there will be bread. "Twice proofed" since it spent 24hours in the fridge rather than 8-12.

The first loaf is incubating while the oven preheats and the Dutch Oven gets heat sunk into it. I have everything lined up for the inevitable bake.

I'm keeping up my fluids and planning a lot of rest.

Sunday, Lurgi, and Bread

I was doing all right until about 2PM yesterday. That's when my nose started running like a tap and my throat started hurting like I'd been gargling thorns.

I am not a happy camper.

Mayhem's making a sorta-chicken soup with available materials when I wanted to venture out and get things. It's probably a good idea to stay in and keep up on my fluids.

I'm either overheating or freezing. My head's full of fog, and I am currently in terror of

Saturday, Called For Rain

It's wet as heck out in our destination, Kedron is flooded, and the great Brisbane River is rising.

...which may or may not mean a soaked and waterlogged Crimbo at a later date.

Yay.

Not.

So now I'm attempting to focus on my offerings du jour whilst also getting a head start on the bread I needed to make this weekend anyway.

And because it's raining, I have no idea if the game I'm planning to do early tomorrow is going to

Friday, Mor Shenanigans

I have to drop off Mayhem early this AM so I can do the shrink zoom meeting happening today.

Which means hoping he remembers to launch early.

I did finally get to signal for help at the GameMaker community. Yay. I've yet to make a start on my weekly rant.

Ugh.

I'm just so tired and the day hasn't even begun.

Maybe I'll get everything done today. Including cleaning the Catio.

I need all the luck I can get.

Thursday, Meds Run

New script in hand, I shall be wending my way to getting more of what it takes to stay stable. Well. Relatively stable. But that can wait until the road trip to drop off Mayhem. More of a chapter will happen thanks to that wait. Yay.

Since I don't have to be anywhere else, I may actually have a chance to work on Pseuducku. Huzzah.

Miss Chaos now has two game creation programs and is in the midst of messing around and

Wednesday, More Experts and Rant

I have a divided day because experts in the middle of the afternoon. I know what's going to wind up in my extended rant for today, but I do not know when I'll be able to finish and publish that thing.

I know I'll get at least a couple of sentences into my novel because waiting room. Yay.

Meanwhile, I'm doing what I can whilst I can. Including my stretchies.

Moving on to an attempt at my Instant Story.

Tuesday, Tech Support and Tired Bean

It's MeMum's birthday so she got free tech support - which included making her mouse pointer way more visible, showing her how to navigate her smart TV, and figuring out how to make DVD's work with that same setup.

Mission accomplished there.

Now I'm back home, I needs must focus on my offerings for the day. For tomorrow, I am back on the bullshit.

Looking forward to free time to work on other things, but I also need a lot of sleep.

Monday, Busy Week Ahead

Today, I have Physio. Tomorrow, I'm off to see MeMum for tech nonsense. Wednesday, I'm seeing different experts and so on.

I will attempt to get my offerings out in good time, but... Time is not on my side.

And I have to get at least eggs at some point.

I also have a phone with an expanding battery [Not my current phone, my old one] that I need to take to a safe disposal point. There's expired meds I need to

Sunday, Game Night and Heel Health

I did need my cane to make it to my desk this morning, but the need of it is waning as the day progresses. Yay. The physio is working.

I just finished a session with my international maniacs and I'm about to take a nap the instant this blog entry is done. Offerings happening when I feel less dang tired.

I may get to Patreon posts. I may get to asking the GameMaker community about an error in the thing. I will

Saturday, Parkrun and a Movie

I made it roughly a quarter of the way through parkrun before I needed my cane. And now it's my friend until I can walk without discomfort again. In the meantime, I am literally cooling my heels with an ice pack from the freezer.

It is my sincere friend when my heel feels like I have stepped on a thousand legos.

Beloved, Adorable, Miss Chaos, and I went to see The Wild Robot and... I'm not crying, you're crying.

It's interesting to

Friday, Wet Weather

It looks like the rain has set in. Dangit. I was really trying to be well enough to do parkrun this time around.

I have been in the wars. Achey breaky feet, hot and cold running rhinovirii, and the Sneezin' and Wheezin' Season that NEVER FIRKIN ENDS!

I still got the sniffoos, but I'm otherwise functioning as human for the meanwhile. So far, so good.

Except Mayhem now has the Lurgi. Or at least, has succumbed to it. Poor chook. Soup and
