Pain Hurts

A 213-post collection

Thursday, Payday and Prep

I have a video to prepare now so I don't have to rush tomorrow. I have half-hour breaks every two hours to get my dumb injured ankle to literally chill out.

I'm using that time for other creative things on my lappy.

I have the usual nonsense to create for the temple of notes. And the hope of having spare time to enjoy some things.

As for my knee stretchies, I am repeating, "Progress is not linear" like it's a mantra. Translation - I'm not having consistent results. Yar boo sucks, I guess.

I shall now commence getting on with getting on with shit. And procrastinating on pitching my books. Whoops.

Wednesday, Rants and Other Things

I just posted today's Peertube video, I think I might rant about technology this week. Old fool yells at cloud. Again. Maybe when remember-when-tech-was-good palaver.

Slop and mush and reheated rebooted, revamped retro nostalgia. New ideas are scary.

I could have a go at how relative "fire bad" attitudes are.

Just looked up the quote. It's "Technology bad, fire scary, Thomas Edison was a witch." So I'll paraphrase if I get there.

But first - the fiction.

Tuesday, Patreon and Nonlinear Progress.

My right leg's doing much better than my left on my chosen knee stretches. In fact, my left leg is a lot worse today. I remind myself that progress is not linear and
I have months in which to improve my knees' ability to withstand bending and walking.

I will get there. It's just going to take a bit of a while.

Another concern is that I've started needing the bracer on my right knee again. I'll talk about it with my

Monday, Ahead of Things?

I'm making progress on my knee exercises. Slow, nonlinear progress, but progress all the same.

Currently enjoying breakfast and waiting for Mayhem to stir himself for the drive towards work.

Soon, the backup reads, the daily shenanigans, and getting the video ready to post because my stupid ass forgot to make it yesterday.

Doing what I can how I can and hoping to heck I have the spoons in order to do it.

...yay

Sunday, Archive Reads, Motivation and Lack Thereof

I've been awake since 1AM but I haven't made anything unless I was icing my ankle.

On the plus side, I have been working on a potential Halloween story. Powers know what I'm going to do for a cover, but that's a problem for if it gets finished. For all I know, it might be out next year. September is dwindling away, after all.

I am reminding myself to be kind to me. If it gets done, it gets done. If not,

Saturday, Slow Movement

I'm in the midst of recording chapters for Adorable. I've allegedly begun work on the next entry for the Archive. I have yet to begin working on my daily offerings. And I have at least one cat getting literally in my face as I attempt to work.

And I have to break every two hours to cool my ankle off.

At least I get to noodle around with fiction other than the daily offerings while that's going on.

It's slow, but I'm

Friday, Slow Going

I have attempted knee stretchies. Or at least knee exercises. I'm sure some of them are going to work. Three to six months, the info says.

Icing my stupid ankle now takes at least half an hour because I have a third axis to chill it down. On the plus side, half an hour to work on various alternate projects.

On the minus side, more opportunity to space out and not do the regular offerings. I'm emotionally lagging on motivation, and pretty

Wednesday, Rants and Videos and Other Stuff

It's half-past nine and so far I'm feeling like...

[Shown here: A simplified humanoid figure oscillating rapidly left and right. It is captioned, "I have done nothing productive all day"]

Which is a lie. I have finished up half a chapter of ADT, I've been working on some fun fiction this morning. And I'm reaching for motivation to start submitting books at people again, but it's the kind of work that makes my bones feel heavy and uuuuuurgh.

If I had an

Sunday, Plots and PLNs

So I looked up my downloaded docs to see if I had other ideas for All Hallows' Read and -nope- there goes that thin hope. So I'll farm a few ideas in Ellipsus or, if it works for me, Scrivener.

So no Halloween story this year. Maybe next year. I don't know. All I need is something scary to write about, and there is plenty to be scared of in this cruel world.

The trick is turning it against the perpetrators, Twilight

Friday, Strategising PLNs

I've been going on drips and dribbles with ADT these last two days. Mostly because the lure of three firkin fanfics are calling me with their siren song. I'm aiming to use my ankle icing time to add a few sentences into one work or another. I successfully added a sentence to three fics so this break will focus on the book first, and then drift off to wherever the muse drags me.

So far, so good.

The bread's done, the story's

Monday, Backup Reads, Cyclone Headache, and Work Load

My head hurts, my ankle needs to be chilled every two hours, I posted my video, I have finished another chapter.

I have yet to think of what the living fuck I'm doing with the Archive prompt. I have the All Hallows Read idea to work on.

...I have fanfic ideas rattling in my head and clamouring for release...

And there's the usual shenanigans of the daily offerings.

I have no idea how or when it will all be done, but I

Sunday, Meatspace Mission

Kaity took the resin printer, last night. She just forgot one little thing. Which is why I am writing this so close to the technically-afternoon.

Because every visit to Adorable on a Sunday also includes a breakfast at the Markets. Which is fun and a little expensive.

Gotta indulge now and then. Keeps the mental energy stable.

Or what passes for stable in my case.

I have the story to do, the video to arrange, and the All Hallows Read to wrangle

Friday, Big Shopping Day

I have my knees on, I have my ankle brace on, I have a long, long journey to several stops ahead. We're out of all kinds of things and my poor little TARDIS car is going to be PACKED.

And I am going to be exhausted.

My story will be happening sometime this afternoon, because all the shops will be opening shortly.

Meanwhile, check my Peertube for one of the archival ones. Read for you by yours truly.

Thursday, Easing Off

I woke up at 2AM, this morning, but preferred to browse my phone rather than work on ADT. I might get a paragraph or two in, later today. I might not.

Shopping looms, but I can get away with waiting one more day for that achievement. Which also means I'll have more funds to fuel the foods.

I have a storytime video to arrange for tomorrow, the obligatory offerings, and figuring out what the hell I need to do to improve my

Tuesday, Patreon, Copyright and Bread

I have a loaf in the incubator, Wilson warming up for the next batch of bread, and I've learned that LibGen, a database of stolen works used to train AI, contains my book The Amity Incident.

Fun.

Alas, the information of what to do seems to be behind a paywall and I have no idea what to do about it. Some searching has dug up A lead, but I'm not entirely certain it's the right one.

I've done a few paragraphs in
