Dear Diary

Tech Support Duty

MeMum's having issues with technical stuff again, so I'm leaving the kids with a freezer load of chicken and mutton and the grill press to fill their bellies with warm spicy meats. They definitely know how to thaw and grill a steak. And they certainly know how to eat way more than an adult portion.

Growth streaks are coming. I'm certain of it.

Miss Chaos has up and decided that she doesn't like fish. This shortly after we served her some. Well, fine. One less person consuming fish is one less person encouraging over-fishing and whatnot. She may change her mind about fish later on. We'll see.

I got no 'bites' yet from my call for Beta Readers. Yet. If it's just MeMum and I on these books, things are going to get... tricky. I prefer to have a lot more eyes on a document than our four.

And at least I know my mum reads my books. Even if she disagrees with how I wrote them.

Today's Patreon stuff may well be delayed until tomorrow. I'll have the time then to do all of the stuff I do for sure. Including this week's Wordpress Wednesdays.

Any suggestions for a topic?

Welp...

[Shown here: Screen shot of a generic and completely unhelpful rejection letter. Text reads: "Dear Author, Thank you for your email, and for giving me a look at your material. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I must pass, but I hope you will accept my best wishes for your future success."]

There goes my last hope.

Before I pick myself up and do my Robin Daffy impersonation, I will give myself a couple of days to figure out what the actual shit I can

MUTTON!

When I was a kid, you could get mutton everywhere. For those poor babies who don't know what flavour is, mutton is a full-grown sheep's meat. It completely mystifies me as to why everyone wants random lamb a-ding-dong, because mutton has a rich flavour that should be experienced.

And since Australia flourished on the sheep's back at the time, you could not only get mutton for cheap, but there were also plenty of sources of a thing called 'hogget'. Which is Olde

Done, Done, Done, Done, Done, Done...

Today's title comes from this lovely tune which suits me to a T today. I am DONE.

I finished Clockwork Souls yesterday, and I just now got it converted to assorted formats for interested beta readers.

Loyal readers of this particular blog can read/comment on the docx version here if they so choose.

I've enabled commenting in all formats in the Clockwork Souls folder on my Google drive.

Not that I expect much action from this. But I will be looking

Set Your Timers

My car is going in for a service at 10 today. That gives me a little less than three hours to get my shit together, and in the middle of trying to write this post, I got this bullshit:

[Shown here: Error message over an empty post titled (Untitled), message reads "Are you sure you want to delete this post?" and in a smaller font, "You're about to delete "(Untitled)". This is permanent! No backups, no restores, no magic undo button. We

Finishing Season

Seems to be the time of year for finishing stuff up. I'm 1500 words away from the end of Clockwork Souls and I've just-last-night reached an ending for my fanfic, Crime and Punishment.

I'm going to ponder which fanfic I'm doing next because I can't not write. There's a few juicy ideas I have excerpts for. I just need to pick the shiniest one.

Announcements when that happens, of course.

Today's another cleaning day, and having our new toy means that all

I think I got it now...

I'm into the swing of eating mostly protein. And my bod's still getting used to the change. I may have overdone the "energy" portion of my fodder last night because, dangit, I needed a treat after the run-around I got in finally posting yesterday's instant.

It went a little something like this:

  • Write story according to schedule
  • Attempt to merge in picture
  • 504 error apparently obliterates story
  • P A N I C !
  • Cursing
  • Realise that story is potentially lost forever and I

'Tis Tuesday, I must Patreon

The kitchen has been unfucked, and with some good fortune, I may be able to convince my little darlings to put away the clean stuff once they're conscious.

Of course they've fallen into the holiday mindset of staying up as late as possible and sleeping in as long as possible. It's the holidays. I'm only awake because I literally can't sleep past 5AM.

That said, I'm in my "not going anywhere" ensemble of Kigurumi and toe socks with optional uggs.

And because

Double Scheherazade!

Scheherazade is famous for telling a thousand and one tales. I'm about to firkin double that. Where's the firkin paparazzi?

[Of course I know my count is off. Leave me alone on this. I'm taking the win. When my story count is normalised, I will let everyone know about it.]

Today... after I'm done with this, I'm offski to grab this week's money and then I'll be back to extract some Blasts from Streemian (and cancelling those stalled posts) before I get

Second Day to Take

Short version: The family wants extra time to slack off.

Long version: The next Jurassic Park movie is playing at freaking last and I'm fairly certain they also want to play loads of Factorio again.

I'm allowing it.

Monday, I will begin posting my Blasts manually. Mostly because, every time I do that, Streemian comes back to life again. And it's been more than a month of inertia on this.

I no longer have a novel to summarise, and that frees up

Done! Hugs Plz

I have just accomplished all the things that have terrified me for a firkin month.

  • Appointment for jabs scheduled
  • Appointment for car service scheduled
  • New mower person contacted
  • MOTHERFUCKING SUMMARY DONE AND SENT OFF TO POTENTIAL AGENT

So I am most definitely taking a majority of a day so I can recover from all the anxiety this is causing. Not to mention that this potential agent is literally my last chance according to the people I sent US$400 for the list.

Holidays... Mostly

School holidays commence this afternoon. Huzzah. I have two weeks of mostly living in my Kigu to look forward to.

Except Monday. I'm getting my flu needle then. For all other things, I am jamming in my toe socks and Kigu and Not Going Anywhere. So there.

So of course my Beloved has plans to get me out and make me do stuff. Which will happen with the mandatory whining.

Beloved has plans all the time. One of which will arrive today.

Dilly Dally Dawdle

I accomplished two things:

  1. I called the mowing company and they're going to give us a quote
  2. I reached my protein intake goal

This is a massive hurdle as I spent some five years pre-keto training my body to run on very little indeed. Which wrought living HELL on my metabolism and may be one of the root causes of my lingering sleep issues. Y'know, alongside anxiety. And just... being fucked up.

So getting my metabolism back to some variety of a

Turn Up For the Books

Mayhem has PLNs to finish this semester early by getting their work done ahead of time. Which means most of today, and all of the rest of the week are his to do with as he pleases. Well. Except for the Traineeship. That's still going on.

But there is a minimum of 24hrs in which to faff, and I think he plans to enjoy that.

Meanwhile, I had my car service people call me, for which I am grateful indeed. One less

Blurgledy

I should most definitely not stay up until 10 at night watching murder documentaries.

I should most definitely not stay up until 10 at night playing Factorio.

I should get to bed at a reasonable hour - anywhere between eight and nine thirty - and get a reasonable amount of sleep.

I should focus on doing the things that needs must be done, instead of faffing off to play a building-things-incessantly game.

Long story short, I didn't get a lot of sleep
