I've got this... I think...

So now I have a pattern of operations for mini-painting, which definitely includes making sure the kitties are fed before I sit down to do any detail.

All that's left at this stage is a HELL of a lot of dotpainting and touch-ups on any spill-over. Since I've been really careful this time, that's not a lot of touch-ups.

Now I really have to investigate washes at the Warhammer Shoppe in Chermside. Wheee...

But not until tomorrow, when the last coats of my guy's red trim are dry. I'll be bringing all the dudes I've painted to show my attempts. Maybe get some recommendations.

It's Tuesday, so I should photograph my Dude So Far for my Patreon peeps.

I also need to find time to make something music-esque for my podcast, edit another episode and all that blablabla. Oh, that I could stop time and do all the things I want to do...

But I gotta use the time I got, so... Let's use that.

So. How do I pitch something to Netflix?

In case you haven't heard, Toastyhat/Emptyfeet has finished her second video which is potentially part of a trilogy or more depending entirely on her moods and desires to get anything done. Even as a duology, it has a happy ending and I am glad of it :)

But I really want to see this entire thing as an animated series on Netflix. Because I think it deserves it. I would binge the living shit out of something like that. It's that awesome.

I got the shakes :P

Unfortunately, I have learned what is too shaky when handling thick, white paint. Dangit.

I was able to thin the blobby mess RIGHT down to the thinnest possible layer, so I'll be repainting at my earliest convenience. AKA - NOT when I've consumed like four to five caffeine tubes.

I'm kind'a sad now

So that was the last session of the year and it was cut short because our DM has a dreaded throat lurgi. He's off to the States until January so our shenanigans are on HEAVY pause.

Therefore I am painting my 3D-printed mini from HeroForge(tm). Google them. It's like the Ultimate Character creator. Be warned - it might chew your bandwidth a lot, and it will be slow.

Writing Stuff and Learning Things

Thursday. The day I can potentially cut my novel-writing week short by just... spending all day writing my novel.

Why? Tomorrow is D&D night and I want to try catching a Nanna Nap(tm) so I have more energy for roleplay shenanigans. Allegedly.

Crisis... not over yet

Pippi has had a reaction to her stitches/surgery because she's a gadabout little acrobat with a bad dose of the Zoomies(tm). So they're leaving the stitches in until Saturday, and she's staying locked in the laundry during the nights when there's nobody to supervise her.

Getting stressed about things just encourages her to be more Zoomy, so I purposely chilled and did a bit of painting.

I have until roughly 10:00 to do all my Patreon stuff. Then it's off to the shrink for fun times in BusyLand. Then home-again to finish off whatever's been left undone and get me some ice cream because I will DESERVE IT by then.

My practice dude is looking almost finished and I'm kind of proud. I have learned lots from him and he may never be Actually Finished to a point where a model painter would point and say, "nice"

Mo hassles.

Tomorrow is a really big day, run-around wise. Pippi is getting her stitches out in the same hour-ish that Mayhem is attending some kind of welcome-to-your-McJob party. I also have a shrink visit and I have to wish MeMum a merry birthmas.

Busy day.

I have to do a money run today, and unfuck the house, and go get a new stash of Halo Top because it's my Sanity Treat.

There's loads of stuff we gotta do.

We gotta:

  • Get more kibbles for the kitties
  • Trade in the absolute bags of bags of monetarily-beneficial recycling
  • Get me some new sandals because the extant set I firkin LOVED have been loved to death.

Aaaahhh

I'm looking forward to getting some decent rest, this weekend. Toasty, the legend, needs a breather from drawing her fid. Therefore, I am getting an entire night's sleep tonight.

My experiments are yielding results:

  • Wet pallets make the paint go 'funny' over an extended period of time, turning the paints there into washes by accident. Solution - mor layers!

Reprieve?

I got a phone call yesterday afternoon and my car is free from limbo. It was an oxygen sensor and they say they've fixed it. A test-drive will make sure. I figure if nothing's fucked up by the time I've gone full circle by way of Costco, then nothing's fucked up.

Whee.

So today's schedule includes unfucking the house, rescuing-testing my car, and potentially seeing how white applies to Practice Dude A.

Wore My Grubs

I have been rattlecanning in the pale light of the dawn, with ominous, dark, thick clouds threatening rain.

Nice thing about putting a thin coat of primer on things is that one coat is dry before you've finished futzing about with the camera to take photos. So I got all my layers done and documented the progress for my peeps on Patreon next week. Woot.

  • Car's in the repair shop. Again
  • They have managed to duplicate the big problem [suspected misfiring]

My car has a little problem. According to KIABIL, it's misfiring, and the engine light is on constantly. This JUST after it's been allegedly fixed. I swear to firk, I have the worst luck with technology. Especially technology I only peripherally understand.

Anyway, part of my shenanigans today involves getting my jumpy car out to the repair peeps, getting a lift back home, and returning to stealing my Beloved's car. Sigh.
