It's beginning to look a lot like summer

While I haven't seen the obligatory dead snake, we did narrowly avoid a red-bellied black as it was crossing a road, so I'm going to count it. Deadly though they may be, I cringe at killing out shy and venomous retiring wildlife. And it's summer. There's pretty much part of Australia on fire every day.

I have the AC on in the computer room and I'm not wearing much more than my cotton nightshirt... and I'm sweltering. And it's only halfway 8AM so yeah. My plans are to estivate1 the worst of it away.

Hell, I'm only up now because I couldn't sleep any more.

Today's pln is to get some stuff I can store, now that we've obtained all the presents we dast. Just laying in supplies. No big deal. A brick each of some of our fave diet drinks, and then it's home again to nap the heat of the day away.

But first - I need to get today's Instant done and schedule the next batch of Blasts From my Past.

And for that, I should really stop reading comments on my stories for five consecutive minutes.

It's a struggle. It's a real struggle.

A Change of PLN

I love using Sir Terry Pratchett's feegle word 'pln' for a plan that is not... the best-cemented plan on the old drawing board.

Today's pln was to go and fetch Chaos back from her stay with Capt S. Bring along KIABIL to fix some shit, eat a lunch and finally go home.

Another fabulous workday

Mayhem is due for another fine day of his traineeship. I am overdue for Yuletide shopping.

I have some squirrelings from previous weeks, but I gotta say it is not looking that great for the gift front. Plus practically my entire family is difficult to shop for.

And I should really lay in a supply of diet fizzy water for the feast. And hide it somewhere or the kids will drink it all in less than a day.

Contingency PLN

So. Patreon pulled a genuine Dick Move, charging all the Patrons for their patronage. Some folks can't afford that and it will kill the staple of Patreon income, the One Dollar Donation.

And this will obliterate half of my Patronage. And, currently, drop my income from that down to $9 a month.

Not exactly inspiring, is it? All this work for such little reward.

There's a ceremony thing for Chaos' school closing whatsit, and that means that today's story might be delayed until the afternoon. Connecting to steemit is not an easy process and I prefer to do my Instants at home for just that reason.

December!

I have gifts to pln. A feast to pln. A house to prepare for the yule.

And all the usual nonse.

And this during the time of year that I'm least inclined to go out and spend money.

I have secured duck and prawns, but we can't feast off of just that. I need a few li'l extras. Veggies will have to wait until practically Christmas Eve. Drinks... I can stock those up.

Planning for fun

I have been writing some funny fucking stuff, but it's not ready for publication, yet. I have some scenes of chaos to do.

And probably a lot more chaos, yet.

I'm having huge amounts of fun. Listening to the Adventure Zone and powering through the ad breaks so I can listen to more Adventure zone and get inspiration points for the five fucking stories I have going with NO END IN SIGHT...

Definitely holiday mode

I had a lazy morning that started at half-past two in the morning. And though I published a couple of fanficcery chapters, I still got in some snoozing.

And since I plan to take Mayhem to the post office to apply for a Tax File Number, I should get going real soon now.

Friday!

The second-last Friday of the school year. Mayhem has his traineeship, and Chaos has one more week of a schedule before it all gets disorganised.

Mayhem can beg off going to Coominya, this year. He has work to get to every week. And I don't even know if Capt. S wants company this year.

Whoops

I may have entered Holiday Mode. In which I space out for longer than usual and take a relaxed attitude towards everything I do. Everything still gets done, no mistake.

It's just that it's way more spaced out than usual.

Who knew I was attuned to the school schedule this hard?

It's nearly seven and I haven't done shit for getting my work done. Mayhem has a Webinar tonight and a job tomorrow. It's going to be fun keeping track of those.

Disorganised!

Mayhem is done with school. Chaos is not. Mayhem still has the traineeship going on.

This is going to be fun.

I still have to be organised enough to get one little darling ready to take on the day whilst simultaneously getting the other little darling to do some minimums around the house.

Little finicky details

Mayhem has another day at "Summer School" to finish off the things and get his book list.

I have a dental appointment today, so that's going to stress me out some. I fully plan to bring my novel-in-progress with for the office wait.

Lord knows how I'm going to pay for it, tho.

We've not had a lot of free cash, lately. Which is worrisome for me, because having enough money to do things is kind of important.

Getting complicated

Today is Mayhem's last day at school. It's also Chaos' second-last week.

HOWEVER...

The Traineeship in Banyo continueth onwards. And that includes Thursday nights doing a webinar, and Fridays off in Banyo working on the thing.

So yeah, my weeks are about to get complex.

And I think I may have contracted MeMum's wog, so I'm making myself a small batch of ginger garlic chicken soup and mainlining that. OR it could be an overdose of dust and I'm overreacting, but best
