Slow Progress

Things... are chugging along. I'm into the final stretch of B'Nar, I've reached the point in my TangleBag(tm) is almost taller than it's ball of origin, and people apparently really liked my last Wordpress Wednesday. Huzzah.

...now if only the nice folks in Hollywood would notice this shit.

I know. I know. I am but one voice in the wilderness, yaddah yaddah. I would like to think that someone, maybe even a capital letter Someone, is out there and taking a few notes.

I can dream.

So while I'm out here being the change I want to see in the world... I want to give the inventors out there a nifty concept. I even have a snappy name:

Recyc-all

You know how there's some stuff that you just can't recycle? Table glass, pizza boxes (because grease), coffee cups for some reason... All that noise.

Imagine...

Imagine if there was a way to automatically sort that shit out. We have smarter and smarter technology on our hands. We have robots that can make decisions. We have programs that can imitate human faces.

So why isn't there a robot that can identify normally un-recyclable items and sort them out of a stream? Maybe even put them into a sorting line for humans (who apparently 'need' jobs) to sort out the finer details.

Imagine, for instance, if we could launder the grease and manky cheese out of pizza box cardboard.

Imagine if we could sort glass by the chemical processes needed to re-use it.

Imagine if we could re-use everything.

There's ways to do most of this already. Hell, there's a process using pressure and heat that 'digests' anything with a petrochemical origin back into a petrochemical state. It even generates electricity and has clean water as one of its byproducts.

There are ways.

We just... don't use them.

Imagine if we could merge all those ways together into something that could potentially eliminate waste. That's Recyc-all. It could exist. Let's make it real.

Especially important - let's make it profitable. Because there's no way it's going to be used if it isn't that.

I dun goofed

I successfully posted my Patreon, explaining the "Job's Done!" effect. I successfully did my Wordpress Wednesday about the Miraculous Minority and their seemingly obligatory position as Straight White Hero Support(tm). I successfully wrote my blog, my Instant, and five hundred words for my novel.

Yay.

I completely forgot about writing the flash fanfiction I should have done yesterday.

Can't win 'em all.

However, I do aspire to writing two for the price of one, this fair morrow. That should make up

I forgot the Patreon stuff, yesterday.

I'm due to make a Wordpress Wednesday, today. Based entirely on your lovely votes. Results as promised below:

(Shown here: Strawpoll results with "Tropes I Despise - The Miraculous Minority" as the clear winner with three votes. Other options: "Eugenics Gets Evolution Wrong," "Autism and Me (four parter)," "Gender Imbalance in the Romcom," and "Why Must They Go There?" having one vote each. The remaining three options got no votes)

So the seven of you who

Do the Re-organise Shuffle

Chaos starts swimming lessons, this week. I'm 1000% for. Anything that could plausibly save my little darlings' lives gets my vote. Since the lessons happen on Wednesday, that's moved up her tuck shop day to Tuesday.

That's happening this week.

The TangleBag(tm) now has starter walls. It's quicker to do the walls than it is to do the base because trebles are no longer involved. I've gone through three circuits since yesterday and it's starting to look like a wibbly wobbly

Starting Over and Over

I had to unravel a lot of progress on my ameteur string bag. Starting with a simple fact - I got my treble stitch wrong.

You're supposed to make a stitch out of the loop of yarn you wind around the hook. I forgot that bit and just left a loose loop in there. No wonder the result was an unholy tangle.

It's kind of a tangle now, with the spare twine currently residing in a spare gift bag that was lying

Your vote matters!

In things political, of course, but also for this nonsense. In this case, I want to know what you want to see out of me by this Wednesday.

Vote here and vote often. I'll be checking.

It's another unfuckening day, and I need money to bribe educate Mayhem into learning how to drive proper. Poor lad's got the quirbles again, so he's getting a minimum of one day off because quirbles.

Of course I'll be asking if he's been taking his meds.

Fun was had (reprise)

Virtuality is fun. Even when you suck at twitch gaming and you die a lot. The equipment is heavy and my slender neck couldn't handle that. I had my hardy perennial trouble with headphones because my ears be too big, so I'm not blaming them for that.

Bring on over-ear, off-head headphones that don't crush the cartilage. I know they exist, but the price is beyond common acquisitions at the moment.

Grumble, grumble, mutter, mutter.

Ahem.

Today, I am going to weave

Fun was had...

The game sesh ended closer to eleven so we managed to get home just before it was AM, but probably not by much. The usual nonsense of being unable to sleep struck. AGAIN. And my arse was awake at like 4 in the morning after only getting to sleep at minutes in the morning.

It's almost midday, I haven't done anything, and I need mor sleep.

BUT - there's also another game night tonight in which we're all playing in Virtuality so.

We Play Dungeons and Dragons!

Mayhem finishes early, this afternoon. As does Beloved's work.

Beloved will be heading homewards early. Mayhem will be headed homewards early. Chaos... still has her regular hours.

I have to work pretty fast today if I want degaussing time tomorrow. Especially considering that tomorrow has even more potential social gaming time with friends of Beloved, this time in virtuality.

I am the nerdy gaming nerd. Bow to me.

Not much progress on the TangleBag(tm), though I am taking daily progress pix

New Meds, Wat Dis?

I'm trying some new stuff that Beloved ordered online. It's supposed to help with my internal energy management etc. We shall see how it goes.

The potential side effects have me alarmed, so I'm keeping careful watch out for that BS.

In other news, I have officially begun the second circuit of the floor of my string bag. It still looks like an unholy tangle, but it's a consistent unholy tangle and maybe the second circuit will make it look more orderly.

A Change!

I finally got hold of the correct, clinical ashwagandha. You know, the stuff you can't firkin find in the shops. Well. The stuff I can't firkin find in the shops.

This is the stuff I could rely on to get my noggin sorted out to within tolerable areas off functioning. Now I have it back, and I have a way to get it reliably, I am accepting no substitutes.

[YMMV, ask your fave medico, do your own research, etc. etc.]

Rain! Rain!

Finally, after what feels like forever in the dry, the rainy season has started.

We have a good rain that's settled in, but I'm still attempting to push it towards the dams and the drought-stricken zones. We need the rain. We do not need floods washing away what there is of the topsoil.

Of course, I could argue that we should be attempting to farm kangaroos and emus that are actually used to feast/famine conditions, but that's me. The problems inherent

I Need a Day

I'm taking a break from my flash fanfiction today. I've been getting real dark of late and that's a sign of... something. I need a ray of hope. I need to stop looking at the news. I need...

I need a day of rest.

So, today, I'm focussing on the Instant, this blog, and that's it.

I'm calling it mental health. It might be a depression slump. I can't tell from here.

The news is dismal, my friends. My country's leaders are

Welp...

We just had to re-wire our household internet because mice, but before that, I had my entire site crash. So I wanted that to be a decent excuse for learning how to fix my own dang 500/502 errors.

Before I did that, though, the aforementioned internet rebuggering. In which we discovered that the cardboard box Beloved was using as an improvised server shelf was encouraging mice. Mice that nibbled through all the very important internet cables.

No wonder the internet was

You know what?

(Chicken butt)

Nah, but seriously. I think I'm going to keep monitoring my intake 'cause it seems to be working for me. Perhaps there's a psychological thing that triggers my brain into shifting the fat out or whatever, and just monitoring seems to work for some reason.

For example: The previously-mentioned glut of sugar and subsequent weight loss. See also the unaltered diet for the first few days with the altered weight loss.

I was good, yesterday. Deliberately choosing food options that
