Dear Diary

A 3614-post collection

First Monday

It's the first Monday back to school, and the kids were actually organised. Huzzah. Which means the last quarter hour of this morning is free for blogging and getting organised.

Unfortnuately, I also have to untangle the slings and arrows of the carers' allowance and I need Beloved to supply things like income details. The good news is that I made an account with the Government so I can at least sort this out a little easier come next time.

The really good news is that one of my stories, Surprise Attackers, netted me close to $40! That's big news for me. I caught someone's interest and they might be paying attention in the future as well.

Of course, they aren't all winners because my time windows are narrow and I have PLNs. As well as what passes for a life.

The pork soup/stew turned out nice, but my little darlings apparently think otherwise. I must get Beloved to do one of their famous fixes for the entire mess or they'll just snork grilled pork for an entire week. Not that that's a bad thing, but the soup exists to let them have veg and fibre and all those other good things.

Beloved can't help very much, either. Spring Carnival is going to keep them locked away from the world for quite some time. Hell, I'm probably very lucky that I get to watch the first Jodie Whittaker Doctor Who episode with them tonight.

Of course, today is also a cleaning day, so some busy times are ahead for yours truly.

Sunday!

Another school semester is about to begin. Keeping my little darlings on the regular daylight cycle has been a trial, this week. Enforcing bedtime tonight is promising to be a bigger trial :P

The soup is at the final stage before adding vegetables: Getting all the bones out of it.

Slow boiling has divorced the meat from the bones we used to make the broth, so now we have to scoop up solid matter from the pot and pick the bones out

This Not-So-Little Piggy...

We have gone the whole hog. Purchased an entire pig. It's all in chops and we just spent a majority of the morning separating all of it into serving-sized portions for the ravenous horde.

It's knocked a hole in our budget, for sure, but we'll be spending less in the long run this way.

Tonight, though, there is going to be a lovely pork soup. We've taken the bones out of a lot of our chops for ease of the grill press,

The Aftermath

I was careful with my cheat treats, yesterday. Staying in moderation means that I don't start the day with a massive asthma attack or a set of digits doing their Thick Snag Impersonation.

I am going REAL strict. Waiting as long as I can before having my salty broth. My beverage of choice is going to be filtered water.

We've already had our feast this week, so dinner is likely to be something wholesome and good according to the new regime. It

Forty-Six!

I'm one year away from singing that aria from Pirates of Penzance. You know the one. Ruth sings about being forty-seven in a world where men all want 17YO brides [gross!].

In other news, I am posting up Well Rendered just as soon as I finish up this blog entry. Last tweaks and then it's off to the races. So to speak.

I get the gift of watching my 'sales' spike for a free short story. Hopefully, it's enough to inspire a

Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, I am forty-six.

Tomorrow, I'm posting Well Rendered for free up on Smashwords as my gift to all of y'all for supporting me in your own way throughout the years.

Tomorrow, I find out what my dear darling family has planned for me. Though I suspect it will be an evening out and that's pretty much it.

Tomorrow, MeMum is going to ring and sing at me :D Which is the highlight of the day to be honest.

And tomorrow, I

Today's Gonna Get Complicated

Because of the public holiday, my usual cleaning day has moved to today. Which means I have less time for my usual array of combo procrastinating and farting about.

So, alongside the normal Patreon posts today, I also have unfuckening my house to deal with. Also the usual five hundred words and Instant Story and attempting to get the heck back into fluff and cuddles with Free Katz...

I woke up at 3AM again [early night] and proceeded to procrastinate until 6.

October, Willpower, and changes of PLN

It's October, and I would be putting Adapting out towards another potential partner, but I feel so good about Baen's tracking system that I'm willing to wait for official notice of rejection before seeing if the grass is that green on the other side of the fence.

I was gonna just spend all day writing. Maybe even get into that TAZ prompt that's been neglected in my in-box.

I was gonna write my Instant and then take a leisurely drive up to

Hello, Hello, I Must Get Going

It's that time again. I just posted the last installment of Sweet Child of Mine, which means that I may just be getting a new influx of people curious to find out what the hell else I'm doing with my alleged life.

Today, we have a delicious amount of nothing planned. Which is something of a rarity with a spouse who seems to hate lying around at home. Once I'm done with today's Instant [see my other posts, lovely newbies] I shall

It's official

Spring has sprung, my dear readers. The weather is warming to the point where I don't need my fluffy hat to prevent my sneezing myself into oblivion.

Yay?

On the other hand, it's moving into Summer and I've done exactly jack and shit on the Sleep Evil Sleep Project.

Biggest hurdle - getting an accurate 'read' on where I left the animation so that I can get back on and sync the next bit. I did have a program that could play

That's my schedule shot...

This morrow, early in the morning, both my Beloved and Mayhem had to scoot towards their workday. I had to drive Mayhem to the train station because Beloved lacked the time because Spring Carnival steals their days from now until just past November.

Mayhem doesn't think he needs to learn to drive -__-

It's easier now than it was a mere few decades ago. Like, you can get food delivered and such, but... living independently without a car? You gotta get

Now What?

Steemit has changed it's rules and regulations in an effort to get rid of the spammy shit. Which also meant a reset of the stuff that made posts happen.

Yesterday's story was finally posted up there. I'm going to work on today's shortly.

I still have ZERO readers for my All Hallows' Read short. It's less than 2K words and due to go out on the 4th of October. Which is like... next Thursday.

Ferret Fart Desperation indeed.

So I shall be

Dat Organised? Am I?

This morning, I woke up at roughly half-past three AM [I had an early evening] and gave up on sleeping at 4. Instead of my usual procrastination, I pulled up my laptop and had a good old rant about Autism tropes over on my Wordpress.

Now that I'm here for my daily blogging, I'm back in the distractions but... eh. Whatever. I have one less thing to forget, so that's good.

You watch. I'll forget I posted it and do a twofer

Gotta run!

Mayhem has an appointment with experts today. Today we find out about Schrodinger's gallstones. Today, also, I am getting a bunch of stuff for the stew I have plns for.

Slow cooker plus diced beefs plus some cheap scrag ends plus whatever veggies I like that fit in there equals yummy stoo.

Just like last night's rissoles, it won't last long.

We have to order more pig parts, sheep parts, and perhaps goat parts if we're feeling adventurous. We're definitely going to

Holidays

My little darlings have two weeks off from school and I am already suffering from the effects. Not horrendously, just battling the inevitable tides of inconvenience like King Canute.

Did you know that malls don't unlock their doors at 6AM? Thus making certain that the convenience of ATM's is therefore inconvenient because you can't get in to get your money?

I didn't.

So instead of doing a money run when I get up and therefore can't forget it, I have to watch
