Thoughts, stories and ideas.

Milestones!

For the first time in my life, I do not feel exhausted after doing sprints. In this case, 674 meters on the rowing machine, set to Maximum.

For the first time in my life, I have properly pink fingernails. As in, no longer pale and vaguely pinkish, but mostly vaguely purple-ish.

For the first time in my life, I can easily remember the day of the week and what date it is. I always needed some assistance with that one.

For the first time since I was eight years old, I have clear breathing after a workout.

For the first time in my life, I'm getting buff.

Exercise and good diet has results, dear readers. I barely eat any kind of carbohydrates and I'm doing fantastic. That brain function is finally starting to kick in at freaking last.

I'm still derping about where I leave my phone, but it's getting less and less as time passes. I can remember things easier. I'm not getting distracted any less easier, but I can focus a little bit better every day.

Today is also the day I'm cutting cheese from my diet for a month to see if dairy byproducts are having an effect on my digestion. I'm hoping not, because I firkin love dairy. I am allowed to cook things in Ghee, because it's purified fats and none of the buttermilk.

But I have to use coconut cream in my smoothies and anything else that I feel needs some creamy goodness. I probably will be able to deal, but the first thing I'm getting back from the absence is pure cream. I adore cream.

And -hey- if it cures me of the Perpetual Morning Sniffles, I will be a happy camper. It's the one thing that Keto hasn't cured yet. We're working on it. For all I know, I might be very subtly allergic to Kale.

But the biggest, commonest culprit in all things Digestion, and digestion is key to whole body health... the biggest culprit is cheese. Which is also addictive.

Curse my creamed-rice-white genes!

Challenge #01491-D030: Why Am I Here?

http://writing-prompt-s.tumblr.com/post/156109857968 "The world’s best have been transported to a single building, each having their own field of expertise. You, an average Joe, have also been transported. You have no idea what you’re so good at, but everyone else seems to be afraid of you." -- Anon Guest

The right hand rule sucks. I kept finding myself back at my own marks. Upstairs, downstairs... everywhere was closed in. No exits existed. Not even in the extensive

My mornings are full

At least so far. The good news is that Chaos is taking a bus to and from school. The bad news is that I have to be home at a certain time to be sure that she's home safe and sound.

Good thing I already have a nice chair on the verandah. I can camp there with a lappy or a tablet and do something creative whilst I wait.

Beloved and I are making a helper site for all kinds of people.

Challenge #01490-D029: Prophecy From Another Dimension

You should write for Steemit...

Oh, that's right! You already do! Just "discovered" you there today... Having fun reading you, THANKS! -- @creatr

The message arrived via postcard under their door. They pondered over it for hours, because they had never written a word in their life. Everything was too busy. There was no time. There was no space to create anything in. Their space was a mere bed-sit[1] with cardboard walls and loud neighbours. It was the exact opposite of

Aches and Pains

The rest day after Resistance Training is full of them. My trapezius, biceps, and thighs ache. I need a good long soak in a nice hot tub.

BUT, I know I have more muscle mass now. It really hurts.

Also, there's a low pressure system making itself known to my nose. So now the left eye socket of my face has a headachy pain. The lingering after-effects of getting my septum straightened. Joy.

As soon as I'm done with my daily story,

Challenge #01489-D028: One Hazy Mid-afternoon in an East Sussex Hospital Ward

"She has amnesia,"

"Thank god!"

"What?"

"...I-I said, THAT'S TERRIBLE! " -- OohLookShiny

Nurse Blakely wasn't fooled for an instant. She had seen what had happened to Miss Doe. Helped patch up the damage. "You sound like you know how September Doe got her injuries, Mr..." she checked her notes, "Smith."

"First, her name is Holly Buckley. Second, it's my job to keep her safe. Third... I really failed this time. And it involved some werewolves. Well. Three werewolves, a volcano, and a

Results!

So I've been intermittent with taking my readings. I admit that. What I'm trying to do from this Saturday onwards is take a comprehensive reading of everything I can measure, and noting it down in a log.

For my "defaults", I'm using some measurements I already have. Mid-January, before I was going to go to Tucson and see my best band in the world. Which, because my memory from that time, I am calling the 15th of January, 2016.

On the 15th

Challenge #01488-D027: Unrealised, Unrequited, Unrecognised

“If [he][1] was unable to see that I had feelings for him (at least five, but sometimes as many as seven)…” - Carrie Fisher -- RecklessPrudence

Lyr watched Ambassador Shayde attempting to flirt with Rael. The impossible force against an oblivious stone. There had been more than one instance of interspecies dating that floundered heavily on the sending a signal stage. And not merely because of cultural difference. Subconscious body-speak could cause the most inconvenient miscommunications.

One species' flirting is another's

A good start. Almost.

Everyone is organised, lunchboxes are packed, everyone is clean and dressed and ready. I even have time to sit down and write this blog. Before 7AM.

We just forgot to go on our walk, today.

If we still have time by the time I've finished my salty broth, I may poke my love to go walking. The plan B is park the car far away from Chaos' new school and get our walking in that way.

But the fact that I have

Challenge #01487-D026: On the Other Side of the Fence

“I have at least 14 bad angles” - Carrie Fisher -- RecklessPrudence

Carl made a career out of being abnormal. As one of the rare few who could not be cured, he told the jokes than nobody else dared make. Like, "Hey did you hear about the dyslexic biker? He joined Hell's Angles." or, "Public transportation is a real pain. You just try catching the sub every day."

And it worked. People laughed. He earned a living. He kept a home and

Falling behind

I haven't scheduled my Blasts From the Past over on my Steemit account for a while. I need to do a whole bunch and then try to keep up with it.

The problem is, I'm feeling tired. Exercise is kicking my butt again, and I think I am just now getting some kind of rhinovirus. I know how to beat those. Chicken soup and lots of ginger.

And possibly taking it easy for a while.

I need me some pick-me-ups and comfort

Challenge #01486-D025: Worth a Life

“unfortunately it hurts all 3 of my feelings” - Carrie Fisher -- RecklessPrudence

Oh crap. She'd tripped over a Faerie nest.

Of all the authors who featured the Fair Folk in their modern writings, A. A. Milne said it best: Their bodies were so tiny that they could only process one feeling at a time. What hardly anyone remembered about Faeries is this: immortality can drive cogniscent beings insane. Milne's traditional cause of faerie death is not what these hyperactive creatures needed.

Swing mis-swung

We're going to have to take off closer to eight in the morning so that we don't have to wait on Chaos' teachers for half an hour.

Delivered unto school today: One hand-cranked spiralizer so Chaos can make zucchini noodles, two visual fact sheets for lo-carb, and one in-depth one with some of the involvements.

Not all of them, of course, but lo-carb hi-fat diets can help a lot of people. Starting with the basics seems a good way to manage things.

Challenge #01485-D024: To Fix a World

“No motive is pure. No one is good or bad-but a hearty mix of both. And sometimes life actually gives to you by taking away.” - Carrie Fisher -- RecklessPrudence

He only wanted to do good. To improve things for everyone. To make the world a better place. There were just a few things that he needed to make sure of. For the good of everyone. Well. Almost everyone. There were some... bad elements... that needed dealing with.

The drains on society,

Slow start

I didn't get to sit at my computer until 10AM, today. We went shopping after getting the kids to school.

And I'm learning how corporations are getting everything messed up so they can make more money. Like, even more than I suspected. The profit motive is the most insidious and venal motive there ever was.

Monsanto is excellent at killing things. And that includes its customers. And the soil their products are used on.

I am very glad we're going to be
