Shenanigans

A 68-post collection

Another day of shenanigans ahead

This time, we're finishing up the paint job and maybe attaching the roof. I'm getting used to the idea that we're going to just... spend half of Saturdays just getting stuff, now.

So yeah, we now own a new paint sprayer and this one might suffer the slings and arrows of being stored for extended periods and not develop leaks like the old one.
The old one did more resemble a Super Soaker than anything industrial.

The new one looks a bit like it could turn malevolent, but the hose is sturdy and we got most of the frame covered in the first coat of white paint. I also got me covered in a first coat of white paint. Fortunately, a nice, hot shower and a good scrub-over got rid of that noise. I even got it out of my hair.

...and I'm going to be doing it again, today. On the coldest day of the year. In shirtsleeves because I don't want any of my coats getting paint on them. Oh pity me.

I. HATE. The cold.

I am not going to be a happy camper.

On the other hand, I will be one more step closer to having a kittycat shelter worthy of a pampered feline, so there is that. We have the materials for most of the walkway tunnels. I'm pretty sure we're shy a few things for the actual connection to the cat flap. We'll get there when we get there, I guess.

For now, though, I am enjoying a moment's quiet time in the warm. Enjoying it whilst it doth last.

I have to wake up Beloved. We have painting to do.

The Waiting Game

We have a concrete floor to the Kitty Kondo(tm) and, because the cement truck got bogged, we have a war zone in our backyard. The concrete needs today and tomorrow to cure, then things can get started again with the Spakfilla and the roof beams and the paint and the sundry whatnot.

Protip from an ameteur: Always budget more time than you think you need for your concrete. Trust me on this. We paid for half and hour and most of

Challenge #01754-D293: Caught!

"I can explain! I swear!"

"Let's hear it."

"Aw hell. Just skip to the beating." -- Anon Guest

It was one of those situations. Stealth mission. Retrieve the Macguffin of Wherever, and do so in such a way that there are minimum fireworks, thank you, Taako. Taako automatically gave Madam Director his usual forged picture of innocence and Who Sweet Little Me routine.

She wasn't fooled for an instant. Neither was the boy. Angus McDonald, world's greatest boy detective.

And now, several

"I'm gonna need you to punch me in the face."

"Sure thing!"

"I'm a little worried that you didn't ask for a reason..." -- OohLookShiny

"There has to be a reason?" said Magnus. "I mean, I like punching and fighting and stuff..."

"Yes," said Taako. "That is true. But listen. We're friends. You should at least pretend that it's some kind of moral quandary for you."

Magnus clearly did not understand. "How's that?"

Back to School!

My little darlings are off to their respective educational bastions. Though Mayhem is going without his mandatory laptop, because apparently, Overwatch and YouTube is way more important than being ready for school. Hopefully, he's motivated enough to actually set it up, tonight.

I'm still betting he'll just leave it all week and get the chewing-out of a lifetime come the weekend.

Meanwhile, Miss Chaos has curly-ish hair. The gene that missed MeMum and I has landed on my littlest darling and she

Challenge #01167-C072: That Darned Charisma

(it's a comic, scroll down) -- Gallifreya

[AN: I actually have something similar happen in my current WIP and we all know how real D&D players would handle this, sooo...]

"Welp. I now have a reformed evil spouse, I guess..." Kevin sighed. "Since there's little risk of progeny, I can take him with me as a lovestruck NPC, right?"

"Uh... yeah. Actually."

"Character sheet."

"What?"

"Gimmie the character sheet. I need to

Post-Halloween ouchies

Halloween was a moderate success for Chaos [Mayhem skipped out because birthday party.

We went off to a more densely populated area and sought out every house with a front door light on. Chaos was happy enough to quit after one neighbourhood.

My feet are still mad at me. I haven't walked that much for a very long time [I used to crisscross the Brisbane City Centre on a regular basis] but haunting one neighbourhood with Chaos in tow was too much

See, Rabbit? Hatchworth and Mayor McToilet know they did something bad

Nobody knew how it happened. Not even Rabbit, who had had the wild flight of imagination to begin with.

Later inquiry revealed that Peter VI had left Steve in charge. Steve left Walter Girl Carolina in charge, who had then promoted Walter Girl Paige. She, in turn, left Michael Reed in charge. Michael noticed that he was the
