Shenanigans

Wore My Grubs

I have been rattlecanning in the pale light of the dawn, with ominous, dark, thick clouds threatening rain.

Nice thing about putting a thin coat of primer on things is that one coat is dry before you've finished futzing about with the camera to take photos. So I got all my layers done and documented the progress for my peeps on Patreon next week. Woot.

I shall be further futzing about with base colours later on today. Energy pending. My practice dude currently has a bit of paper tape over his head so he looks a bit like a political prisoner at the moment. Later on, I'll be working on the actual colours to go on and documenting that.

For those of you following the Car Saga(tm), I haven't received any news beyond "we're trying to figure it out". So that's that part of my nonsense.

But first, I owe all of y'all some content.

Story first, shenanigans second.

Faaaaaarrrrkkk...

So here's the situation:

  • Car's in the repair shop. Again
  • They have managed to duplicate the big problem [suspected misfiring]
  • BUT they still don't know what is causing it

Trust me to get a new engine and have it turn out to be a lemon.

So my car is in limbo once more as the techie people unriddle what the actual fuck... My Beloved has had a birthday and some SINFUL amounts of carbs to go with. There is a pavlova in

@#$%!

Insert pictograms and grawlixes here.

My car has a little problem. According to KIABIL, it's misfiring, and the engine light is on constantly. This JUST after it's been allegedly fixed. I swear to firk, I have the worst luck with technology. Especially technology I only peripherally understand.

Anyway, part of my shenanigans today involves getting my jumpy car out to the repair peeps, getting a lift back home, and returning to stealing my Beloved's car. Sigh.

At least I have ice cream.

Interesting Day

There's an apocryphal curse, May You Live in Interesting Times. It's been an interesting day already.

Starting with:

  • Beloved home from work on a day off
  • Mayhem home from school because exams
  • Cleaning day
  • Jolie figured out how to escape exile in the Catio
  • Chaos and I had to chase her and chuck her out again

I've also learned that I need to launch in order to build anything in Roll20, so... I might not be building anything in Roll20... yet. I'll

Shenanigans Wahey!

So. I think I have a rough handle on Roll20. I shall attempt map-making anon. What I really need to know is how to undo something I don't like. I shall be experimenting as I familiarise myself with the tools there.

I really want to make a campaign for D&D.

I also want to finish some fanfics and today is looking to be the day. Mayhem apparently doesn't have to be anywhere, so I shouldn't have to go very far

So That Happened...

We had a short session last night because (a) One party member was away sick and (b) the plot arrived quicker, but...

Despite all that...

I was bloodied twice in one fight, surprise-attacked by a troll, and learned that my faux german accent was too much for our new DM so I'm toning it down next sesh.

It's not easy being squishy.

Thankfully, I have tactics of a sort. Tactics and ten darts. I'll have to engineer a system to make sure

Aaargh...

So we had some hail. Light hail, thank goodness. But it served to wake me the heck up and make sleep impossible for me since.

On the plus side, I did get another story edited for episode 15 of Inter-Mission. I'm that little bit further forward on that count. Yay?

The best news today is that my Beloved will be bringing me an emergency supply of Ashwagandha so I can brain during the rest of this week. It's almost time to be

Fun times ahoy

My brain is back to being like a sieve. Even more so than normal. Well, what passes for normal when I'm actually on Ashwagandha.

Bad news: I gotta wait a week before my order is ready. Y'all know this.

Good news: Beloved apparently has a stock of Ashwagandha at work. Enough to see me through until the eventual delivery day if there are no further complications.

Bad news: Beloved is not back to work until Tuesday because they were working on Saturday.

Aftermath, Part 1

Fun was had, last night. Fun will be had during the wee small hours of tomorrow's AM. I will be WRECKED, but I'm going to enjoy it.

There are the remains of two cakes in the house. One is almost doomed, the other is only initially doomed. I've gained some significant weight, and I might diet all through the rest of this month and the next one... but not today.

Today, I have treats.

I also have a Tiefling Monk who's basically

Welp...

Exam schedules have Mayhem going into school closer to the afternoon than the morning. I'd better not get a text from the office about this.

...I'm probably going to get a text from the office about this.

Still, there is today's exam, then two more on Monday and Tuesday next week, then he has allegedly the other three days to slack offski. Supposedly.

I'm trying to cram my work into those interesting time windows, but I have my doubts about my ability

More Shenanigans

Yesterday, our internet access went down. Our Wifi LAN was fine, but the internet connection is down. This has been happening on and off since we moved in, and through various ISP's, it's been the same. Every now and again, with no hint that things are going to go pants, the internet connection just firkin DIES.

This morning, it's back up again without so much as a how-do-you-do. Whatever.

At this point, I'm starting to wonder if it's us. This area, some

I has a very frightened baby kitty

There is a wee sleekit timorous beastie in the house and this time, it's a cat. Yes, folks, I have finally finished working on the kitty shelter and obtained my little feline from a friend.

She's 19 weeks old and absolutely terrified of this house and all the weirdoes in it. Not surprising in the slightest, IMHO.

For those disinclined to do the math, that's three months and one week old. 1/4 of the way to being a grownup kitty.

She's

Uuuuuurrrrrgh...

If firkin course it didn't work out like I had pln'd. Turns out we needed mor tools, mor mats, and mor bits [not mor dakka, but it was a close call].

Sigh.

We resume faffing about later on in the AM.

If I actually get to work on anything during these wee small hours, it'll likely be more of Episode Nine of Inter-Mission.

...my soul hurts, but I still PLN on learning how to weld, and making the firkin walkways at bloody

Shenanigans!

Today, thanks to my numerous errands and trials, we will not be wasting half of today getting matts and tools.

Nope.

TODAY will be halfway wasted by making a tool out of the matts I fetched. Yay!

At least I'll be learning how to weld. Woot.

So this morning is going to be devoted to those episodes of Inter-Mission that I'm lagging on. By the way, you may have noticed that the link to my podcast has changed sites. That's because Soundcloud

Another day of shenanigans ahead

This time, we're finishing up the paint job and maybe attaching the roof. I'm getting used to the idea that we're going to just... spend half of Saturdays just getting stuff, now.

So yeah, we now own a new paint sprayer and this one might suffer the slings and arrows of being stored for extended periods and not develop leaks like the old one.
The old one did more resemble a Super Soaker than anything industrial.

The new one looks a bit
