Thursday, Shopping PLNs

Today's usually a day of rest for me. BUT...

I need to get cat food. I need to pick up a few little things. I need to make sure we have enough.

Enough bread. Enough butter. Enough eggs. Enough cheese. That sort of thing.

I have to wait for Costco to open before I get going on that. And it's going to be hot as balls today. My goal is to get what we need and get back into the AC before the maximum.

There's a couple of hours between then and now. I might even get my offerings out before that hour rolls by.

I did get the barest essential ramp made for the shed, but the rest of the gravel has to wait for a cooler hour.

It was already perishing hot when I poured out the second bag of gravel for the ramp.

My yard's going to need a LOT more fortification.

Let's get on with getting on with things.

Wednesday, Let's try this again

Rain, cloud cover, and thunder and lightning... all of these band together to screw with out internet.

We're expecting rain and I can only hope that I get a twofer out today.

I also have to edit my anthology because my issue with counting struck again. Missed a digit between 151 and 153 and now the count is off.

Fun.

Tuesday, Boxing Day and All the Fun Times

I got bogged trying to return my car to the shed, got a neighbour's help getting it out and safe, and I now have some lovely wheel holes in my lawn.

Other than the bogging event, we had a relatively quiet celebration with all the usual things. Gifts, tableside debates, and WAAAAYYYY too much food despite my best efforts to prevent that happenstance.

Sunday, Christmas Eve, Quiet Company

Traffic was relatively sane on the quest to fetch MeMum, though there were enough dangerous drivers to alert Mum all the same. Something something, panic about the holiday death toll.

I was a supremely careful driver, today. Making absolutely, positively certain that nobody would hit us.

We arrived in one piece with only a minimum of shrieking. So now it's time to chill and enjoy each other's company for the duration.

Saturday, Big Cleanup and Prep

Tomorrow, I take off to get MeMum so she can be up here for the big holiday. That means my offerings will be late. The day after tomorrow, the most you'll see out of me is a seasonal greeting.

And THEN.... sometime after I get MeMum back home on Boxing Day, two stories to make up for the lack.

Henceforth, the normal state of proceedings will return.

Friday, Ham Day and Unfucking Marathon

The ham is thawing and we have today and tomorrow to get the house nicer before visitors happen. Yay.

Procrastination has bit us all on the butt this time around.

BUT I do also believe in miracles in association with effort, so we should be able to pull through regardless.

Thursday, Pudding Day and Catching Up

I forgot to do Wordpress Wednesday, so that's what I'm doing first thing. It'll help me wait for the butter to thaw.

Wednesday, Wordpress and Perishables

I'm getting the perishable stuff, cooking, and wrapping today. All for Crimbo Prep so I can get stuff out of the way. Nice and organised.

Mayhem's decided to buy some Crimbo treats instead of making a second pie. Handmade is labor-intensive, after all. It took him three days to do the first pie. Dude made the pastry and everything.

Tuesday, Back Online!

After eliminating all possible problems at home, we turned to the ISP. Who admitted that there's been an outage in the whole area.

As a side note, I joked that we'd get internet access back on the day when I'm due for intensive running around and... yeah. The dodge ball of Apollo smacked me good.

Saturday, Parkrun and internet woes

We had one fuck of a storm last night and currently, our connection to the internet is limited to my phone.

Unless I can get everything fixed before bedtime, there's not going to be anything from me until further notice.

My phone data is limited, and I'm using some of it just too get this message out there.

Friday, Unfuckening PLNs

I have the BG3 brainworms making me write stuff again. I will ATTEMPT to retain focus on the important bits.

I did get some more written for my Beauties summary, but I decided against doing any programming jiggery-pokery. Emotional fortitude and all that.

Today, I get all the mail off the dining room table, in preparation for the upcoming holiday. Hooray. Alongside all the other unfucking processes and occupations I regularly do.

Thursday, Side-projects Day

Wednesday, Wordpress and Milestone

Today, I am writing my four thousandth story. I'm going to be spending some of my spondooly in getting that thing out to as many eyes as possible.

That will be happening later. For now, I do the minor tasks in waiting to go get all the things we need for the interim.
