Thursday, Day 0, Scam-aware Thursdays

One new imported case, so we're up to sixteen days without local transmission. On one hand, I've been keeping count. On the other hand... I'm evidently terrible at counting. Trust the news before you trust me. Please. I'm perfectly willing and able to be wrong. We have seventeen total cases and sixteen of those are in hospital. Looks like a whole bunch of people got better. Yay.

As far as those numbers fall, the happier I am.

Today's Scams feature is going to be The Eternal Sponge because they're always on the soak. I'm going to be calling out someone on Peakd and it's high time someone did it. I can at least make my 787 followers there aware of this individual. I gave them the chance to mend their ways and they did not. So now they get some consequences.

In the news:

  • Apparently the civilian footage of George Floyd's murder is the only reason his murderer got a conviction. Cue a call for laws to make it illegal to record the police
  • Submarine vanishes off the coast of Bali
  • Police murder a 16YO girl who called them for help without sparing a second to assess the situation
  • Plague troubles on the rise as idiots continue to act like idiots but even moreso now that there's a vaccine
  • There's another virus in Aussie hotels
  • China vs Australia continues to heat up

Let's get on with my nonsense.

Wednesday, Day 2, Debug the Mic

Twenty total cases, all of them in hospital. Things are looking up for me and my paranoia. Alas, the Death Cough remains, so I too remain in personal quarantine until I either shift the stuff that's making me bark, or Sneezin' and Wheezin' Season draws to a close.

Something there is that does not like me drawing breath. I'm used to it.

I tried to record an episode of Does Not Compute but there was NO SOUND. I gotta debug what's going

Monday, Day 0, Back to School

Two new cases, both imports. Twenty-seven active cases -another drop- and twenty-five of those are in hospital. Two with the alleged freedom of a hotel somewhere.

My PLNs today are nothing more complicated than writing stories and unfuckening the house. IF I get time and energy, then I shall be recording a Does Not Compute for MeMum concerning How To Google Docs and Google Drive. It might not happen until Tuesday. I know I didn't get very far with CSP yesterday.

Wednesday, Day 0, Wordpress

Two new cases, both imports. Which means that there's nine days without local transmission. Hoping to make it to twenty. Fifty-five total cases, twenty-three in hospital. I'm not saying those two fresh ones are the ones in a hotel, but the odds are in their favour in my humble opinion.

Today... I don't want to go off about anything, so it might as well be an exploration of how a pantser plots. I'm going to drag you through the entirety of my

Sunday, Day 0, Stream Shenanigans

I don't have news regarding whether or not today's one case is an import or not, but I'm betting on import. There's sixty-three active cases and sixty-two of those are in hospital. Only one with the potential to be on the loose.

There's two streams today and I really hope to be awake for both. Fingers crossed.

The good news for me is that I started a ball rolling. Turns out Jobseek(er/ing) is no longer a thing and now there's

Thursday, Day 0, Further Shenanigans

Day Two without local transmission, but there's six imports, so technically Day Zero. Seventy-three total cases, sixty-seven in hospital and one in the ICU. That's six with the potential to sneak out and raise hob.

Today, Miss Chaos is getting her bank account herself and Beloved and I will be teaching her how to do net banking, how to be wary of interweb scams and so on. I already told her to stay the heck away from wish dot com. Not only

Wednesday, Day 1, Shenanigans Ahoy

I have three hours to do whatever and trying to work means that I'm not falling into the YouTube wikiwalk trap that can delay me for all of that. Today, there are NO NEW CASES in Queensland! Not even any imports. It's a major deal after so long. There's still seventy cases, all of them are in hospital and one's still lingering in the ICU. I wish them well.

Today, at ten, I get my shoes and socks on, chase Miss Chaos

Monday, Day 0, SESP Lives!

I have been investigating and learning and finding out. I can use what I already have to make SESP1 a thing again. Which means spending some of my hours working on a thing for the thing. Yay.

Labors of love take a hot while.

Meanwhile, in news of the plague, there's one new case and it's imported. Seventy-two active cases, seventy-one in hospital and two in the ICU. That's as many as one with the choice to break free and wreak

Sunday, Day 0, Enough sleep?

Three new cases, one domestic and two imported. Seventy-four active, all of them are in hospital, and two of them are in the ICU. This now reveals that my math has been off about everything this entire time. Yay.

Ugh. At least I've learned that those in ICU are a subset of those in hospital.

Still not looking at the news. The lockdown and global shenanigans combined to make me sleep a lot because anxiety and depression can synergise like that. I

Saturday, Day 0, Hiding?

Eight new cases, one local, seven imported. Eighty-two active, seventy in hospital and one in the ICU. That leaves eleven that could get loose and cause a whole bunch of trouble for Queensland. Sigh. So much for end-of-summer beach time.

Ah well. Better safe than sorry.

Today, I take some well-deserved me-time and an early sleep so I can be awake in the wee smol for Toasty's stream. I may catch up with Critical Role. I may fall asleep to hideous murders.

Wednesday, Day 0, Wordpress

TEN new cases, eight of those local transmissions. Seventy-eight total, sixty-four in hospital, two in ICU, which leaves twelve with the relative freedom of a hotel room until they are clear. Masks are mandatory for when you go anywhere and we are hunkering and bunkering and just being blobs for the interim.

Judging by the acceleration, we're going to be locked down for a lot longer than the three days. We've done this before and we can do it again. Of course,

Monday, Day 0, PLNs in motion

There's two new cases, today. The total active count's at fifty-four, with fifty-two of those in hospital and two in the ICU. Nobody's chilling in a Queensland hotel today.

I'm draining my Peakd account, which is a test of endurance, and watching the markets as they haver and haw. With good fortune and good timing, I shall be able to have the money I need to finally fix the bathroom by June. It's just that slow, folks.

I mean, look at this:

Friday, Day 0, Digging a bunker...

There's EIGHT firkin new cases, all from overseas, and the total depends on who you're asking. Forty-eight in Premier Palaszczuk's twitter, Thirty-nine if you're looking at the government website. Either way, I'm e-shopping for bunker options in case it turns into the zombie apocalypse.

Kidding. The closest I get to leaving my house is going out to eliminate weeds in the yard. I personally pulled up enough goatweed and cobblers' pegs1 to clear access to the shed for the landbarge. Yay.

Thursday, Day 0, I Have PLNs

Six new cases, totaling forty-one, thirty-five are in hospital and one is still in the ICU. So that means five people are chilling in their hotel rooms and awaiting freedom.

Beloved has received a pair of gloves they don't remember buying. Perhaps they are in lieu of the fun-sized chainsaw they ordered and still haven't received. That alone makes me less inclined to buy that fab lying-down desk I keep seeing whenever I browse Tumblr on my phone. But oh the temptation.

Sunday, Day 0, Slug Day

I'm actually writing this [or starting to] at 11PM on Saturday night. Sunday will be happening inevitably. I've been awake since half-past nine.

There's four new cases on the site I consult and the active case count of forty-two. All in hospital. Worrying. On one hand, people are getting better. On the other hand... forty-two fucking cases. Yeeks.

I'm going to watch Toasty's stream, write a flash fiction, sleep, and perhaps catch on episode of Dimension 20 if the mood moves me.
