Pain Hurts

A 213-post collection

Sunday, No Streams

Two hours up, ten minutes "icing" my ankle. Lather, rinse, and repeat. For as long as I can stand doing that cycle.

I've taken loads of time to do my minimal offering output. I don't know if I can move things along quicker. I can try but...

The ankle is distracting even when I'm at my debatably most comfortable.

Add to the interesting times the fact that I'm lacking good quality time with the QPP and feeling a little lonely because of that.

At least I should have replacement laces for my extant ankle, with Mayhem as the messenger, by Monday evening. No more fretting about the in-package laces coming to pieces because they got shredded by the velcro.

Onwards to what I can do while I can stand doing it.

Saturday, No Parkrun Because Ankle

I have a maximum of two hours to do things before I have to spend twenty minutes with a cold pack on and under my ankle. Plus I have bread going on. I thought one batch would be enough, and it looks like the kids are back to predating upon it.

Mayhem's off to work this Monday, so I may have to get Chaos to contribute to the bread supply.

I have NO idea how I'm going to deal around shopping time.

Friday, New Routine and Bread

On the advice of my physiotherapist, I have a new way of working. It's a cycle of about two hours and twenty minutes. Two hours sitting up and doing things, twenty minutes with a cold pack juggled around the ankle. Ten minutes under, ten minutes over.

It's... workable.

I have enlisted Mayhem to help me bothering the bread. Just in case I have other bullshit going on.

The starter's incubating, I measured everything but the salt [my bad] and all is more

Tuesday, Patreon Stuff and Ankle Gambits

Today's theory is that my regular walking shoes are too heavy for my fragile, sprained joint. Which is why I might be getting nerve janglies when I put that thing on a cushion or up on my knee.

So far, so good.

I still can't sit up at my computer for extended periods of time, so my PLN for relief is (drumroll) taking napnaps.

I did make some arts, yesterday, but the protocol I used to share it with myself made it

Monday, Video and Ankle

I woke this morning [third time's the charm] with the sincere belief that my sprained ankle had finally healed. I could get back to doing my heel stretchies.

No.

I could not.

I aggravated my sprain. So I might be another week in the bracer. Powers alone know how I'm going to get the shopping done because it's always a Leyland's Tour.

I might have to do the driving and take a helpmeet to do all the running around.

Today, there shall

Sunday, Anxiety Spike Issues

Dealing with issues does very suck. I got myself some mondo anxiety, I got the persistence of the nasty ankle, I got a firkin Bad Air Day going on...

I'm exhausted without even having started.

And I'm more inclined to call it a day early. It's been a terrible night and I'm looking down the barrel of a terrible day.

Fingers crossed things get better as time progresses.

Onwards to the offerings.

Friday, Ankle Versus Video

I have five chapters to read for posterity, a couple of videos to edit - one for PeerTube, one for YouTube, and now that I've figured out how to keep my foot elevated... I also have Cursor to fight with.

I'll hold out for as long as I can, as my arrangement does things to my hip. Win some, lose some. I might have to sit out parkrun because ankle. Fun times.

...I'm going to catch it from my Physio because of

Wednesday, Rant Due and Cyclone Headaches

The good news is, I don't have a bubbling blind spot this morning. The bad news is that my painkillers are taking their sweet damn time to kick into gear.

I just flicked Clockwork Souls off to PS Literary, and B'Nar is in the reserve pile. The agent I was looking at is taking a sabattical. I have to look up someone else to take Adapting and Beauties.

Finding a third set of potential representatives is my task of the week, now

Saturday, No Parkrun, and Waiting For Spandek

I will bother Mitre 10 about the lack of Spandek sometime after the weekend. Parkrun is cancelled because flooding. We're still getting our hair did, all the same.

I forgot about that and washed my hair. Whoops. I will suffer the consequences with minimal complaint.

Offerings happening whenever. I'm trying to preserve my poor wrists, but it's not going well. I do have speech-to-text, but it's a minor pain in the butt.

Better a minor pain in the butt than a major

Friday, In the Wars

I have to take it easy. Both my wrists hate me, despite my stretchies. I still have nerve janglies in my right thumb, and my left got bitten by a pen when I put the lid on it.

To help with my offerings, I am installing some speech/text software.

That might help rest my wrists.

Or so I hope.

I also have a cyclone headache so that's promising fun. And tomorrow, I go do the First Timer's Briefing for parkrun. Wheeee.

Sunday, Game Night and Necessary Therapy

My feet hate me. Not shocked, considering I was testing how well they could go without a cane assisting it. I sure as heck need a cane now.

I may also need to soak my feet in cold water.

I'm otherwise rested, and should be good to get my offerings out there. At some point, I'll throw a few sentences into the novel and the Butcher's Book.

I'm not seeking out spandek until later on in the week. Today's not good and

Saturday, Parkrun Progress and Shenanigans

My battery's at less than 50% so I shall attempt to make this quick.

Attempt.

The physio is working in that I was able to walk the entire 5K without needing to support it with the cane. Yay for my left heel. Alas, my right knee has had enough of supporting me and decided to be a huge bitch the entire time.

I shall be talking with my physio about that come Monday. Replete with descriptions of the clicking and clunking that

Sunday, Ouchies

I had to skip both game sessions because foot. It was absolute agony last night. Fortunately, a long rest has helped me with the ability to walk. Just... not... far.

I had to get Miss Chaos to help me with my morning doses. Mostly ferrying the finished product to my desk.

I'll catch up on yesterday's missed offerings and then work on today's. After that, I'm just going to chill because I think I need to be lazy for a bit.

Let's

Saturday, Parkrun and Owwies

The bad news: I forgot to start my new foot exercise regime last night.

The good news: I remembered to do it this morning.

Bad news: My foot is PAINFUL post parkrun and various parts of both legs are not far behind.

I need a sleep to recover, now that I am safe home. And if I perchance to miss making my offerings, y'all get a twofer tomorrow.

Squeezed in betwixt game sessions and taking Mayhem's compy to the repair folks, apparently.

Tuesday, Car Service

It's going to cost me a new pair of sandshoes. For reference, decent sandshoes that will actually help failfeet like mine cost upwards of half a grand.

This is on the low end of that "upwards" but it's still a sock in the gut.

I began today with a massive cyclone headache at 2AM and it's not looking that great for the rest of the day. Painkillers taken, but not yet kicking in. I have to wait until I have my bread
