Last-minute folderol

I watched Toastyhat animate in the wee smol hours again, so already tired! Yay! I'm also out of coconut milk and should get myself a fresh supply of coconut milk and I have NO idea if Beloved is down for more shopping so close to Crimbolio.

Getting supplies close to Xmas is HELL. Candy-cane coloured, mint-flavoured, ho-ho-HELL.

I do try to have all possible supplies to stay the hell out of the shops at that time of year, but... not always possible. Plus my traitor brain can only remember 0.5 thing at the best of times, so... yeah. Not a fun time for my easily-distractible arse.

I've apparently been having problems with story posting on this site and I'm going to actually record the process this time to see what the feck is going wrong with the tubes THIS time.

Probably my brain tube, but I would like to eliminate all possibilities.

Beloved is allegedly going to get their Tesla before Christmas. That's in less than five days, including today. Stir in a high chance of nothing being done on Christmas Eve and there's like three days for anything to happen, and I don't give odds for the weekend.

Chugging along

I just finished a stream where I recorded five stories and wrote a piece of music. I'm doing well. Tomorrow, I publish another episode of Inter-Mission for my potentially-two listeners.

It starts with one. It grows from there. Sooner or later, someone is going to do animations featuring their favourite bits.

Tuesday, I shall be editing a new episode of Inter-Mission, and since I'll probably be rat-faced by Thursday, I might not stream at all. It's pretty close to Xmas by then.

Five seconds after I packed up my paints and put all my mini-painting shit away... Mayhem announced that he wanted to learn mini painting. We've gone the Cheapshit Route(tm) for practice dudes and bought a bunch of plastic army dudes.

We shall be painting them in the early morning so I don't have coffee-shakes(tm).

Hello, anxiety

I'm pretty sure I know exactly what's behind the intense anxiety I get whenever someone drops a hateful review of my writing. So hello, childhood fear of people bad-mouthing me because that would soon be followed by physical violence. It hasn't been long enough.

I keep telling myself that this person somewhere in the wilderness of the interwebs can't actually track me down and beat me up for being weird. All they have is their words.

My mini is finished and just awaiting some proper varnish. Because I want some matte effects to stay matte and some shiny bits to stay shiny post varnish. Heck, he might not need varnish at all. I dunno. Either way, he's looking good. I should take pictures.

I've drybrushed the Kobold's bow and arrow, and I'll be doing some details on the feathers and arrow-tip... and possibly the one buckle I could identify on his leathers. Once all that's done, I'll hit

Last Friday of School!

Following today, I have all the kiddies at home with little constructive to do. So the mayhem beginneth in earnest. Mayhem has a casual job, at least, so that promises to be at minimum partially interesting.

Today, I must unfuck the house, then go forth and retrieve nommables for the kitties since the supplies have run out.

I shall take full advantage of any discounts I can use, because these little critters get HUNGRY and they need variety.

I think my little Tiefling is actually done! I'm still painting the Kobold, because Sisu, but that's probably not turning up on my Patreon. Because Kobolds are tiny, difficult to paint, worse to make look good, and I'm just over here trying my best.

How to fade individual bits in Garageband
How to make sure streams are recorded in Twitch
Even though you try your hardest not to, Kobold painting will result in spill

Getting there by bits

I've been drybrushing my dude and I put in his eye. A procedure which required retouching his guyliner for each colour applied.

I want to re-enforce my dude's eyebrows with a little dotpainting, and also add a few highlights on all that lovely blue skin. He's almost finished. I'm also working on a Kobold for shits and giggles. Little dude is looking SUPER dark right now. He needs highlights.

Things I have learned since 3AM this morning:

I still don't know how to have recorded videos up there
Having a better brush means having better fine details on your mini
If you want to paint a Kobold, they are ALL fine details
Even then, you will have paint spilling into areas you don't want it in.

I did my final ~~obsessive~~ touch-ups of my Tiefling and I'm moderately certain

I'm learning things!

So whilst we were out adventuring and picking up hints and tips to the care and handling of washes, and also some clues on how to dotpaint.

Which resulted in: a kit of washes with a wash brush, a fine point brush, a big-ass box to store all this shit in, and a little pot holder to hold up to three pots of paint whilst I work.

After we were done with all that noise, we tripped over one of those hot-spots
