Hot Keto Chocolate V1.0

I did some experimentation last night, based loosely around this video recipe for frozen chocolatey treats we Keto-cooks call "fat bombs".

The result has a definite buttery undertaste and I'm wondering if it would work better with cocoa butter instead of the regular dairy butter.

BUT... if you're on Keto and craving a little of that lovely winter warmer, here's the Alpha version:

Hot Keto Chocolate V1.0

Instruments
  • 1 Microwave
  • 1 Mug
  • 1 Teaspoon minimum [people who don't want to wash up during the process can use two]
Ingredients
  • ~2tbsp butter
  • ~8g your best available dark chocolate bits
  • ~1/4 cup pure cream
  • Sweetener of choice to taste
  • Almond milk to fill the cup
Instructions
  • Keep in mind that this author hasn't quantified everything as of yet and let your conscience be your guide
  • Place butter in the bottom of the mug
  • Layer chocolate bits carefully on top [prevents burning!]
  • Microwave for 30 seconds or until you hear the butter popping
  • Stir until your chocolate bits are melted and the whole mess is homogenised
  • If mix is still warm, add cream, otherwise microwave for another 10 seconds and then add the cream
  • Stir in the cream and sweetener if you like sweetener. The chocolate mix will pretty much instantly thicken and look like it's about to set. Do not panic. If it gets too stiff, microwave it again for 10-20 seconds.
  • Microwave it again for 10 seconds before adding the almond milk
  • Stir well
  • At this point, your beverage will be FROSTY COLD, so this recipe can double as an iced chocolate, too, if you like it like that
  • Microwave for one minute or until comfortably warm

Serves one Ketogenic soul with frosty fingers.

I shall be experimenting this evening with cocoa butter instead of the regular dairy, this evening. If it's better than this one, you will definitely hear about it.

This one was pretty much an instant hit with Chaos. Mayhem has yet to detect its presence and I'm not entirely certain he even likes hot chocolate. Whatever.

Now all we need to do is figure out Keto Marshmallows, and we'll be set.

Oh shit, it's Thursday

Amazing how the week flies by.

I got some more cleaning happening, today. And this is after cooking up a whole mess of Cauli Cakes for Chaos.

On the pro side, I have at least a fortnight's worth of cakes from one and a half heads of cauliflower. On the no side, I have a fuckbunch of washing up because making cauli cakes gets intense.

On the super pro side, I got Beloved to cook us up some cheeseburger soup, which sounds

Here's the PLN

I do my writing duties, and then I gather together the bits and bobs for Cauli Cakes just... make those for however much time I've got before the brat run in the afternoon.

Cauli cakes take a while to do because they're a slow cook. Even little pan cakes in egg rings take ages because you have to cook the cauliflower in there. Which also makes certain that the bacon bits in there get cooked too. Twenty firkin minutes per pan cake.

One down...

The entry for Warp and Weft has been stricken from my copious Ideas File [anyone can comment, and I'm starting to believe that adding a linkie to my ever-growing menu might be a help] because I'm nearing what I feel to be a natural end to the tale.

Even though Warp and Weft has a potential for sequels.

The lure of some of my other ideas has already started to call me away. As those who have followed the link up there

Checklist and Progress

My day so far:

  • [X] Kids off to school
  • [X] Money grabbed
  • [X] Learned I can 'float' down stairs after about fifteen years of not being able to do so (Hooray for Keto!)
  • [X] Washing up gathered in one linear sprawl, ready for processing
  • [X] Nearing the end of a pretty epic fanfic

What I've still got to do:

  • [ ] Clean the firkin house
  • [ ] Arrange a dinner
  • [ ] Cook 'special' vegetables for Mayhem
  • [ ] Blast scheduling
  • [ ] Instant story
  • [ ] 500 words in Clockwork Souls
  • [ ] Edge further

Another Fabulous Day

So I woke up at fuckoff o'clock in the morning. Again. And since I couldn't sleep, I sat up and got to work. So now there's a chapter of Babes in the Woods, as well as a thing on my Wordpress out there in the aether.

There's plans in the works to go see Early Man because Aardman firkin rocks.

So I have to get a rattle on with my Instant today. Which of course means that I'm procrastinating my arse off.

Did I forget again?

It's the weekend and I'm checking to make sure that my Patrons have their stuff before I settle down to doing all the other nonsense.

And because I'm subconsciously afraid that I have forgotten again [mind like a steel sieve] I am PROCRASTINATING HARD.

Loads of interesting videos on the interwebs.

I need to be braver about my shit. If I fucked up, I can acknowledge that and make amends.

But nope. Not can do the thing. I have avoidance issues. I

I Like Fridays

But only because I don't have to drive so much. Just one round trip, but one hell of a round trip.

Thank goodness that listening to My Brother, My Brother, and Me keeps my brain pan operating whilst I haul my arse halfway to Brisbane and back again.

It's a really long drive since it's also rush hour. An ironic name if there ever was one.

The good news that is also happening today is that I have started having money in

Procrasti-nation

It's where I live. Whoops.

I just spent an hour putting down my brilliant cold open for one of the ideas I have in my Ideas File which I HOPE will remain pickling until I'm done with whatever I'm trying to finish off before I launch another firkin fanfic.

I may have plot cats instead of plot bunnies. They're just as prolific, but they're more prone to biting and clawing at your anatomy. And bringing you fragments of things that just firkin

ANZAC day

Public holiday in the middle of the week!

Things are gonna get F'ed up. Guaranteed.

And speaking of firkin things up, I'm getting increasingly obsessed with one of my many Fanfic Ideas I call Look at This Strange Breed. BUT since I've only seen interest expressed in Crime and Punishment, I should probably do that first.

Maybe.

I'll see if I can finish SOMETHING I'm working on, today. Novel not counted. Not including this week, I've got ten weeks before I reach

More of the Run-around

I swear I bought two tubs of cream, yesterday. I found one on the countertop this morning. Fingers crossed that it hasn't gone off overnight.

The other one has seemingly vanished without a trace.

Update: Found it on the floor. Sigh.

On one hand - money not wasted. On the other hand - chances of it going off quickly have risen, so it needs eating up.

Which means loads of jellycream and cream of whatever. And another trip out to get more

Early Start

I could no longer sleep in the wee small, this morning. And, apparently, neither could the kids. I caught Mayhem playing one of his many FPS games, and Chaos talking to herself in her bedroom.

So I really caught them out, and made them help in the house.

Mayhem claims that he has no idea what to do when he wakes up early and, of course, I called him out on his horseshit. I'm apparently supposed to write a list of things

No PLNs, No Mission

I'm having a relax-a-thon.

I need to recharge.

And I might just end up vegging out and bingeing shows that Beloved has been on my butt to finish watching. We are paying like $12 a month to get them, after all. Need to justify that expense.

Meanwhile, my Beloved continues to be baffling. They were caught bingeing a tween-oriented sitcom centred around one of the family being an advanced android. White- and hetero-normalcy abound.

I was having flashbacks to the '80's when

Damn I'm good

I posted another chapter of Babes in the Woods this morning and got eight comments on it before I settled down to this blog. For limited definitions of "settled down". And seven of those eight comments are all about the feels.

Which is firkin GREAT for a writer.

It's good to get feedback. It really is. Even if it's something like:

ASDFGHJKL OMG TEH FEELZ

Because realtalk - writers firkin love this shit.

So if you love a writer's writings, leave a
