My mornings are full

At least so far. The good news is that Chaos is taking a bus to and from school. The bad news is that I have to be home at a certain time to be sure that she's home safe and sound.

Good thing I already have a nice chair on the verandah. I can camp there with a lappy or a tablet and do something creative whilst I wait.

Beloved and I are making a helper site for all kinds of people. Since Coca-Cola and other sugar-based companies are doing everything in their power to get the LCHF lifestyle sunk... we're doing what we can to get it out there virally.

You can pay scientists to get whatever results you want. The method doesn't matter, so long as the conclusions are correct. The Tobacco industry knows this. They've been doing the three D's since the fifties.

But we all know that corporations can Deny, Delay, and Distract for so long, before they have to Decamp to easier prey avenues of addiction.

I don't want to ban sugar. I just want people to use it less. The same for all the carbohydrate stuff. As it turns out, there is a surprising amount of stuff that can be healed with a healthy diet. Grains and carbohydrates are not necessary for it.

We were supposed to go for a walk, today, but my legs are still hating me for the Resistance Training on Sunday. That, and Beloved stayed up too long, working on the helper site. So we took a day off.

With luck, we'll get used to all this exercise and not need so many days of rest.

Progress

With the new iPad and potential for doodling whilst writing again, I had motivation to clean up my office.

So I went from this:

To this:

I'm rather proud of myself.

I've got the whole family walking around the Long Block [roughly 2.5km] And yes, I still have that misspelled "Weird" framed by my desk. It reminds me how NOT to spell it. And I'm still proud to be weird, and that I did a pretty good job on the calligraphy.

Hidden Toxins

Okay. Now I'm pissed off. Beloved and I, and the mother-in-law, have discovered by complete accident that there's one place they put sugar, and you'd never suspect it at all.

Table salt.

It seems impossible. How can they add sugar to salt, right? You'd notice, wouldn't you. Well. Not so much.

Rewind to yesterday, we were having what we thought of as a nice, keto friendly broth and veg, and everything seemed to be fine. Until Beloved took their blood sugar reading

New Starts All Over

I bullied my beloved into going for a walk in last evening. Turns out that I'm still tasty to mosquitoes despite my daily dose of vegemite soup with extra salt.

Yes. On LCHF, vegemite soup is not salty enough.

And this morning, we went on our walk before the heat kicked in for the day. Allegedly. The sun was sharp, the walk was hot. We went for the 'figure eight' around both blocks and I managed to keep pace with my love

It's 2017, time for change

I confess, I fell over sick and Yuletide happened, and the house... went to crap. Waiting for everyone else to get their tail in gear and help remove the mess they made has been an abominable failure.

So the first thing I did this AM was going around the house and emptying all the little litter bins. Now Chaos has one less avenue to be lazy about cleaning the heck up.

New surprise policy for my little darlings: First kid awake gets

At the closing of the year

It's New Years Eve and I don't have many plans to stay up until midnight. I have little choice as to when my batteries need charging, but when I go down, I go down.

Resolutions
  • Work to improve my writing
  • Work to improve mine and my Beloved's health
  • Do what I can for MeMum

People who make too many resolutions end up keeping none of them, so I keep it to three.

And there's a story in the third one. Those dear

International cuisine

Like all wisdom, some of the best food comes from outside of what we know. Beloved is determined to get this family away from western-themed bland monotony and ignorance of spices.

I miss Sweet Mustard Pickles, so Beloved has suggested a Korean version of Sauerkraut as a substitute. This version doesn't use sugar as a part of the pickling process, so I'm down with that.

We have lots of other options from all over the world. Some of which have ingredients that

Christmas eve!

We've done all our shopping (I hope!) and got all our things for the glorious morrow.

And as an extra bonus, this Yule happens on a weekend, so I don't need to worry about my novel's word count. And I really don't need to worry about an Instant, either, since it's my day off.

And I especially don't need to worry about the gap between the Instant count and the days of the year... because of all the double prompts I've been

Ch-ch-chaaangeeeesss...

I thought I was zen about change. I thought I was cool with everything that SPG collectively decided to alter.

But then they announced that Sam Luke was leaving for his own artistic stuff, and my beloved woobie child Hatchworth was gone from the robots I adore.

So my ASD hatred of change kicked up and resulted in a stab of fear through the heart, and now I have the sads. It's not as if he's died for cryin' out loud, but

I'm getting better...

It'd be funnier if I had a picture of myself on a body cart... nevermind.

The lurgi has shifted out of my brain, so at least I'm mentally clear.

My doctor also didn't want to prescribe antibiotics, so I'll be getting rid of green things for some significant time. Which means lots of lemon and ginger tea and lots and lots of salty broth.

With my brain operational, I can now focus on writing a lot better. Alas, I'm still a lot

Another big day

School's ending, so of course the party atmosphere skyrockets. Yesterday, it was graduation. Today, it's a trip to Wet and Wild water park for fun, fun, fun in the sun, sun, sun.

And since I'm whiter than creamed rice... that means loads of sunblock.

I've cheated a little and got a long-sleeved Rashi shirt. Which means I only have to worry about my hands, face, and pasty white legs. We did the same for Miss Chaos. And since I have a roll-on,

Small starts

Lots of people who use Ketogenics don't often talk about Ketogenics. Possibly, this is due to the huge amounts of opposition directly related to having everything they know being suddenly wrong.

It's more than a shock to realise that everything you thought was good is actually evil. And it does take a special mind to turn everything upside down.

Attempting to convert people over to the LCHF side doesn't have to be a fight to the death. I found a Keto-recipe app

Getting (slowly) better

I had the first good sleep that I can remember since forever. I was actually able to get back to sleep after needing to get up to pee during the wee small hours. [Darn rosemary tea before bedtime] and I'm feeling less 'foggy' than previously.

The only side effect is a slight clogging of the airways that could easily be Sneezin' and Wheezin' Season up to its usual tricks. It feels like I'm breathing through a straw. Only the straw is inside

Teh PLN

I got some ducks in a row and actually talked about sorting out things I've been in fear of fixing for some extended time. Yay.

Now I have to go through with it. Boo.

Today, teh PLN involves going back to the doctor and hashing out a mental health care plan. And I know the drill Talk About The Worst Of It. Loads of people whiffle their way out of getting help with the same rationalisations they use to pretend everything's fine:

Procrasti-not

I made the appointment to see the doctor about getting a referral to see a shrink to sort out my mental issues. [...that chased the rat that ate the malt that lay in the house that Jack built] This is... some momentous momentum for me.

I've been procrastinating about this since my friendo came to visit and assist in the great unfuckening. But I'm running out of stuff to procrastinate about and making me do the thing, even now, has been an
