PLN

A 847-post collection

I am a Donkosaurus

I forgot to do my Patreon stuff, yesterday. I'm more than likely to skip out on that again today.

Today, my car is going in for a service because we suspect that it is leaking coolant. It needs an annual or semi-annual top-up of the stuff and that, apparently, is not normal.

So the PLN is to take it to the repair place today and hope they can squeeze my little car in and see if they can spot a leak. If they can't, I have to make sure I have a five litre bottle of ready-mix coolant for the 14-hour round trip to Tullagawupwup.

Further in my failure queue today is the fact that I fell 300 words short of my 'push' total of 1K words. I just... couldn't do it. I need to prep for the trip, and maybe make that my priority, rather than focussing on pushing my 3K out faster so I can then work on that. Maybe I need to chill this week and next. Do the essentials, then squeeze in the rest afterwards.

I'm already planning to take a week off from my novel for the week of the trip. Maybe if I warn my followers on Saturday about the turmoil I'm experiencing, they won't fret or abandon me for whatever space of time it takes for me to rearrange my life back into passing for normal.

Don't worry, though. I'll be back to writing real soon.

Maybe when this is done, I can re-achieve some focus. (I can hear my Friendo laughing at that one.)

I can't not write. We know this. Even during the worst of it, you will still be getting a daily blog entry.

I will try to get the Patreon and Wordpress stuff out this week. I will try to finish the 3K for my novel, this week.

What I need to do is get my shit together for the meatspace stuff that needs to happen. I have to focus on what I need.

Resolving Issues

So. Next week, there's going to be three days when I'm both on the road and emotionally compromised. I'm not going to be writing my novel on those days. I might not contribute to it for that entire week.

I might not be doing my daily stories. I can try, but... they just might not happen. Not for three days.

Rest assured that I am still alive and doing my best.

Daily blogs will still happen because 3AM is apparently my jam.

A Good Turn-up

Yesterday, Free Fiction Daily up and decided to make me their feature article and put the one from the day before above "the fold". Just. Two of my stories right there on the attention-grabbing part of the page. No scrolling down, just -boom- there.

One day, I might just have more notice than that, but it's my current high point. I love it.

I am having so much fun with the D&D game and I want to share it, but

So stoked for tonight...

I got my Crit Happens shirt, I got a new dice bag, I got my tablet charged, I got my batteries... I got Mayhem home with the vomits at home because antibiotics kick your arse these days.

Last day of term, and I don't even know if Chaos is going today.

If the kids are at home, I'm still taking a journey out to be sure of victuals for the evening.

That's what passes for a PLN.

I'm gonna be riding the

Dis... Dat... De Other

My Friendo's funeral is happening soon. Not too soon, just... soon. There's probably going to be three days of radio silence or a reasonable impersonation thereof. Frankly, I'll count myself lucky if I can keep the Instants going out.

So much to do in-between.

My car is having coolant issues, so I have to do something about that. The Doctor's office gave me the number for Q-Tax, and I have to do something about that... I have to pack...

At least now,

It's April 1

The pranks will be flying, but not here. Here, I'm what passes for serious.

On Tumblr, though, a friend and I are doing a collab for a prank. Instead of me doing the story and her doing the arts, I did the arts and she's doing the story. We shall see whether anyone else notices.

I bet they will.

The TangleBag(tm) is three stitches away from a complete top, and then I shall work out the handles. Huzzah.

I'm also squeezing

Friday Again

I doubled up my writing on Wednesday and Thursday so I'd have today free for assorted gas. It was a bit of a trial for me on Thursday, and I don't know why.

Probably battling my sads, but... I don't know.

Maybe this will be emotionally taxing for me in the long term, but I gotta try it. Like, I know I can push myself and do a thousand words a day in my novel, and that used to come with intense

I'm Lernding

I didn't get all of my Nothing done yesterday. Beloved had counter-plns to drag me off. I'm still going to work on some of my shit today. I want to focus on learning Java because I really need to get that app going.

When I burn out from that, I'll catch up on the rest of my nothing.

I really need to get rattling with Java. Most of the programming course is about drawing stuff and I want to focus on text

D&D!! SQUEEE!

I am so stoked for today.

The whole gang is due to turn up and the game shall indeed be on and I intend to enjoy the hell out of it.

Other PLNs include all the flash fictions, as normal, but I've DONE my novel for this week, so I don't have to fret about that.

I might be able to squeeze in some self-education or work on any given project, today. That'd be cool.

We shall see what we see when

I might forget Patron today

Apologies in advance, I will be doing my utmost to be sure it's done, but...

I have a shrink visit in an unknown location and that's likely to fuck me up big time. Getting there. Getting back. I am likely to be a frazzle.

I'll try not to forget that, or the other things I have scheduled, but... I know me.

Now you know I'm at least trying.

Speaking of doing my best, I have figured out that on weekends of Nothing,

I forgot the Patreon stuff, yesterday.

I'm due to make a Wordpress Wednesday, today. Based entirely on your lovely votes. Results as promised below:

(Shown here: Strawpoll results with "Tropes I Despise - The Miraculous Minority" as the clear winner with three votes. Other options: "Eugenics Gets Evolution Wrong," "Autism and Me (four parter)," "Gender Imbalance in the Romcom," and "Why Must They Go There?" having one vote each. The remaining three options got no votes)

So the seven of you who

Do the Re-organise Shuffle

Chaos starts swimming lessons, this week. I'm 1000% for. Anything that could plausibly save my little darlings' lives gets my vote. Since the lessons happen on Wednesday, that's moved up her tuck shop day to Tuesday.

That's happening this week.

The TangleBag(tm) now has starter walls. It's quicker to do the walls than it is to do the base because trebles are no longer involved. I've gone through three circuits since yesterday and it's starting to look like a wibbly wobbly

Fun was had...

The game sesh ended closer to eleven so we managed to get home just before it was AM, but probably not by much. The usual nonsense of being unable to sleep struck. AGAIN. And my arse was awake at like 4 in the morning after only getting to sleep at minutes in the morning.

It's almost midday, I haven't done anything, and I need mor sleep.

BUT - there's also another game night tonight in which we're all playing in Virtuality so.

A Change!

I finally got hold of the correct, clinical ashwagandha. You know, the stuff you can't firkin find in the shops. Well. The stuff I can't firkin find in the shops.

This is the stuff I could rely on to get my noggin sorted out to within tolerable areas off functioning. Now I have it back, and I have a way to get it reliably, I am accepting no substitutes.

[YMMV, ask your fave medico, do your own research, etc. etc.]

Rain! Rain!

Finally, after what feels like forever in the dry, the rainy season has started.

We have a good rain that's settled in, but I'm still attempting to push it towards the dams and the drought-stricken zones. We need the rain. We do not need floods washing away what there is of the topsoil.

Of course, I could argue that we should be attempting to farm kangaroos and emus that are actually used to feast/famine conditions, but that's me. The problems inherent
