Disruption to (ir)regular seervices

Yes, once again, life interferes with my PLNs. This time, it's getting into the inner circuit at Chaos' school so I can help with her learning at home. To that end, I'm turning up to assist at an excursion for her class.

Which means that most of this morning will be eaten up by Parenting instead of my usual faffing about on the internets.

I also have a NEW new keyboard with a programmable light interface :D Which means double the typos and a dash of nerdiness. Yes, folks. Once again, I have made my mouse and keyboard glow blue, except for a few keys that have some "green matter" powering them ;)

The old new keyboard went straight to Mayhem, who is enjoying it immensely.

The only downside is that this spifftastic keyboard is LOUD. The keys make a lot of noise, but not as much as the old-fashioned ribbon typewriters. It does let people know when I'm actually working, but still not when I'm thinking about what I'm going to type.

I have to pack some food and beverage for myself. And through some miraculous foresight, I invested in a can of Zero Ultra Monster, "in case I needed it". And going out and doing stuff with people definitely drains my batteries. It's the best-tasting sugar-free energy drink on the market, IMO, and I am going to NEED it by the time the day is done.

But for you, my dear readers, it means that everything is going to be LATE. The Instant will likely happen much later in the day than you're used to. On the plus side, I will be taking my lappy with me for the "hurry up and wait" part of the day.

I'll TRY to cram in time for my Instant, but the odds are not in my favour.

I thank you for your patience.

Up to my eyes in it

So today is an interesting schedule. I have a plumber coming at an unspecified time. I have the cleaners coming. Both will want paying and I only have the cash for one of those people and I worry about that sort of thing.

Fortunately there are ATMs, and I definitely used the Suncorp account this morning. Huzzah. So after a short school run, I now have enough money for everyone including myself.

I also found out that the account I can access

Fun times ahead

MeMum actually won a li'l something in the Lotto, and each member of the family syndicate gets a little over $100 bonus. However, Mum doesn't trust the post office to get a letter to anywhere if it has cash in it, so I'm courier for Beloved's Mum's dividend.

What happened to sending a 'Congratulations' type card with said dividend inside? It's not like the post office scours letters for that kind of deal. But then I remember that there's change involved and,

Funeral, today.

I don't know when today's Instant will be published, but I'm doing my best to see that the flow of fiction remains largely uninterrupted.

I'm on support duty, today. Propping up those I love through their time of trial. And according to my brain, it means bringing along enough tissues. Which means all of the carry packs I have left, because I overcompensate.

Yes. I know. I'm mental. I can deal with that.

Crowded Days Ahead

Chaos is seeing her shrink, today. We're all going to a funeral, tomorrow. I have no idea what Wednesday holds, but it's bound to include looking for more Beta-readers for Beauties, and possibly working on Chaos' very first book. I should have the time by then.

I need to figure out a way to make an iced coffee that I can tolerate, because there's no way I can drive as much as I'm driving, this week, without caffeine. One that will (a)

::William Tell Overture at 75rpm::

[AN: IDEK when this should have posted, but you can assume I was very distracted]

Okay, so today is busy and I only have myself to blame. I had scheduled an appointment for Chaos to get her shrinky paperwork in order for yesterday afternoon, but because of a sick Mayhem, I completely forgot about it.

Derp.

Now I have one this morning, but with squeaking room to actually get to the shrink on time. AND I have paperwork to hand in to

...uuuuuuurrrrrgh...

Bad things I did, yesterday:

  • Talk up a big game about eating food but not actually make any
  • Consume half a packet of sugarless caramels
  • Stay up 'till eleven because laundry

The results from those bad things:

  • I'm frelling tired
  • I'm feeling a little weak [A bout of artificial sweetener-induced intestinal issues will do that to you]
  • I am not fully functioning

Worry not, dear readers, I did actually get two actual meals in. Breakfast care of the Coffee club, and bunless

Cue "Yakety Sax"

That's "The Benny Hill Theme" to many of you dear readers. Ideal music for running about like a chook after a chook with a curly grub.

So this was yesterday:

  • Get Chaos ready for her psych visit
  • Forget to urge Mayhem into motion
  • See Beloved off to work
  • Prepare for a long-arse trip there and back again
  • Just as it's time to go, realise that Mayhem fell asleep instead of getting ready and have an emotional blowout
  • Drive Mayhem to school
  • Realise

AUGH!

Our dryer is officially dead on a day when we need it the most, what with the sky deciding that today is a lovely day to frell up my plans to actually slot in some firkin laundry before the day really gets hot.

For the record, it's already 25C (78F) at half-past six in the morning, and humid with it. Bleh. And it only promises to get hotter and muggier throughout the remains of the day.

This is the sort of weather

Day of rest?

There's markets on, today. Markets that we should be at by eight. They close at eleven.

Then there's a barbecue lunch at a friend of Beloved's from work.

By which time I will possibly be knackered again.

And I have to make certain that my kids' bags are packed and ready, that their lunchboxes are named, that Chaos' hair is treated again... this time with stuff that will not poison all participants.

Because Monday is a school day. And even more chaos

Nothing much...

It's Friday, and I usually make myself write one thousand words in my WIP so I can finish of my 3K a week and have the weekends for whatever happens to be going on.

I'm trying to keep up with everything, but I'm starting to feel overwhelmed. And most of it's through making other people do the things they need to do in their day-to-day life. As well as getting myself up and at it.

So I have a creeping feeling of

Mor writing! Mor work!

So let's recap:

I'm running another blog alongside my story Steemit for all things culinary, scientific, and personal that I have to keep separate from my authorial persona. I'm also running this blog for everything else and generic life updates.

So alongside my Instant, scheduling past Instants, and writing a novel, I should be writing at least one culinary thing and maybe an opinion piece in this other blog.

And I still have to do maintenance on the house, feed and groom

Living in the procrasti-nation

The scary thing about my levels of procrastination is that Beloved is worse. I've procrastinated doing my daily duties by writing the starting paragraphs of a book that I'm not due to start until 2018. I love the concept and it's so shiny. I had the perfect starter sentence and I could not resist setting a scene.

Of course, since the Mou editor is slower than frozen molasses, I started editing in my old friend, TextWrangler.

Everything old is new again.

I've

S-L-O-W-L-Y

If there's anything more irritating to live with than a case of the Slo-Mo's, I can't think of it right now.

I couldn't get to sleep until Beloved came home. Well, not properly. I managed to cat-nap until that time. And then I woke at four in the morning. Too tired to sleep.

Which is a bitch if there ever was one.

Since Beloved was home late, I gave up on the morning walk and dived straight into getting the kids organised.
