Yours for only $2.99 at Smashwords!

Even the spacious Othersider ships were getting crowded.

Sahra watched from her safe space, protected from the germs of the abandoned humans below her window by uncounted airlocks and hallways. She made sure she stood at the right hand of Lord High Admiral Saviour King Django Ali. And she made sure he was wearing a more comfortable replica of his golden thorn crown.

At least she’d learned Mama’s trick of talking

I've been watching All in Together a few dozen times...

And I’m loving watching SPG and their character walks.

Rabbit’s like, “Yeah, I figured this out ages back and BTW I’m the Queen of y'all”.

Spine’s trying to be polite and nodding along.

And Hatchworth’s in the background with an invisible tray, apparently bussing invisible teacups.

…which only adds fuel to my theory that the Walters used Hatchy as a sort of household servant for however many decades…

Challenge #00540 - A165: Opus Apparatus Spurius

Series of posts, each blank line denotes a new poster:

[Comparing real-life understanding of tech by the people maintaining it to a fictional universe] Of course, this is minus the stupid witch doctor rituals.

“Have you tried turning it off and on again?” comes to mind. And a lot of other rituals.

Doesn’t that actually help with a significant portion of callers?

[Fictional universe organisation] rituals work too, except when they don’t. Doesn’t make it any less

For sale now at Smashwords!

There was a stall selling icons, on the way back to her home/farm. Most of them were of the Saviour doing miraculous things. Calling down yellow rain on the Tu'att. Making the walls bleed. All the miracles that had happened both before and after the Othersiders came.

One stood out.

The Saviour blessing a little girl in a gold sheath. Pointing to the angel of death and making that angel shrink away.

Except…

The way

Challenge #00539 - A164: Come to Australia (You Might Accidentally Get Killed)

“On most airplanes, in an emergency oxygen masks will be deployed from above your seat. This is an Australian airplane however; in an emergency, we will deploy drop bears from above your seat.”

Either way, the lack of oxygen problem is quickly solved. – RecklessPrudence

“What? Why would you do something that barbaric?” Esterhazy boggled.

“Well, the oxygen systems are tied to the landing gear, see,” Shirl expanded without missing a beat. “If there’

Your last two prompts have already been done - nos 502 and 503, so either they got submitted twice, which means everything is fine, or...

No, I know I got them twice. I think they may have been submitted by different people?

If I’m wrong on that count, they’re submitted so far apart that the submitter may have forgotten they sent them and sent them again.

You’ll note though, that two same prompts give two different stories.

I do try to mix things up.

Dear readers: Please try and keep track of the prompts you send me. There is a queue

OUT NOW AT SMASHWORDS! Get the whole trilogy!

Graak finally levered the last corner loose from the air vent, only to discover another grille, just behind it.

Damn Yoomins!

This had to be a trick to erode his morale. For all he knew, freedom lay on the other side of this grille. He ground his talons into the gaps, trying to get the metal to either wear away or bend. He was so devoted to it that he almost didn’t

Challenge #00538 - A163: Graveworld

The universe is probably littered with the one-planet graves of cultures which made the sensible economic decision that there’s no good reason to go into space—each discovered, studied, and remembered by the ones who made the irrational decision. – RecklessPrudence

Nobody knew what the natives called it. There were no natives to ask. Whatever had happened on this world had destroyed all but the simplest and toughest of organic life, but left the buildings and infrastructure to be slowly buried
