My whole life has been leading up to this moment

“The average person shares 30000 cokes a year” is a statistical error. Coke georg lives in a cave and shares 3000 cokes a week. He is a statistical outlier and should not have been counted.

you know i posted this because i am nicknamed Georg by a certain group of people and was very confused as to why this photo was getting so many noted.

Challenge #00640 - A275: One Fine Evening in a Filthy Spaceport Bar

We believe that the universe itself is conscious in a way that we can never truly understand. It is engaged in a search for meaning. So it breaks itself apart, investing its own consciousness in every form of life. We are the universe trying to understand itself.- Delenn, Babylon 5

“Well that doesn’t make sense,” said Hwell. He, too, was propping up a bar and ingesting something bad for him. “Humans, we all well know, are

"Greater Deregulation is my stand-in..." -- See, that's where my suspension of disbelief breaks down. Even the corporations recognize that...

See, that’s where fiction has a harder time than reality.

Right now, there are companies with similar product that have mafia-like territorial zones [A “gentleman’s agreement” if you will] so that each can have their own areas of control, artificially-inflated prices, and customers over a barrel.

Right now, you have corporate sponsors of politicians. And you can bet that each senator has their corporate interests in hand.

Right now, you have corporations muscling out ‘mom

Autism isn’t something a person has, or a “shell” that a person is trapped inside. There’s no normal child hidden behind the autism. Autism is a way of being. It is pervasive; it colors every experience, every sensation, perception, thought, emotion, and encounter, every aspect of existence. It is not possible to separate the autism from the person—and if it were possible, the person you’d have left would not be the same person you started with.

Challenge #00639 - A274: An Axe to Grind

It was distressing how many problems a good murder could solve.

[AN: According to the doctors, I am now officially fine. According to me, there is still a tightness in my throat that I am going to see my doctor about]

Too many arseholes in the world. Far too many. But if one could select an arsehole to excise from reality… If you could pick the ones who were most to blame for the current, sordid state of reality…

Fun fun asthma party times

It’s half-past four in the morning and I’m in triage, waiting to see a doctor.

At 3AM, I woke up with a barking cough and the regret that I hadn’t sought out my medication, yesterday. It was a public holiday and I thought it could wait.

For want of Atrovent, I wound up in a desperate search for anyone who would sell it to me. Hospital was my last resort. And they have procedures…

Just curious, but why does everyone from the Greater Deregulations sound like they're from Texas? Also, are there any GDs that didn't turn...

Greater Deregulation is my stand-in for the embodiment of corporate greed. I figured that the GOP types would have gone to create a corporate paradise on a new world, and that they tried this more than once.

A planet founded by profit-above-all, greed-is-good type people would devolve into asshattery in less than two generations. And continue with it for as long as they could get away with it.

Some got the formula wrong. Some had revolution and changed everything. Even the name

Materials scientist John Rogers and his firm MC10 have developed flexible electronic circuits that stick directly to the skin like temporary tattoos and monitor the wearer’s health. The Biostamp is a thin electronic mesh that stretches with the skin and monitors temperature, hydration and strain.

Challenge #00638 - A273: Capitalism

It’s like selling people a gold nugget, then a silver nugget with gold covering, then you get a copper one with gold covering, the next version they sell you a iron Nugget with gold paint before selling you a glass marble calling it the ‘next big thing’.

“It’s all about makin’ stuff faster and cheaper, but no’ necessarily better. It’s about convincin’ the customers that faster an’ cheaper is better, ye ken.

Challenge #00637 - A272: But the Cat Came Back...

…and the cat is still not allowed into the tea room because he’s convinced that somewhere there is catnip if he can only destroy enough to get at it.

“Whsk!” Pattie aimed a spray at the incoming Skitty. “Ffffft! HSSSSS!”

“Ma'am,” said Officer Marken. “I’m afraid it’s against station regulations to interfere with a Skitty’s duties.” She already had the digipad out and was taking notes.
