Most citizens of Mashandar had no idea why the gigantic CRC ships appeared in the sky, large as the moon, and hanging in the sky in precisely the way that moon-sized eggs don't[1]. They were largely concerned with trying to get through their day.
They were so used to soldiers that the most any of them did was move out of the marching combat suits' way. They didn't truly panic until part of the High Palace Mashandar exploded. Smoke and dust pluming into the air.
The screaming and uproar truly started when they saw their leader in the custody of those soldiers. That was when the public announcement sounded out.
