How to make it rain!

WARNING: May cause flooding.

  1. Wash, and then line-dry all your house linens. Including the winter stuff that’s super-heavy when wet.
  2. Wash and polish the car(s)
  3. Paint the house
  4. Stain the deck
  5. Pour some concrete
  6. Have a picnic
  7. Say “It’s such a lovely sunny day I hope it doesn’t rain”

All my peeps in drought-stricken areas: Verbally invite flooding rains from elsewhere in the country to come and visit. Something along the lines of “I wish some of that would come over here” is usually efficacious.

And know where your dinghies are. Just in case.

All the other peeps in areas at risk of flooding: Verbally un-invite the rain to somewhere that needs it. “F*ck off to [DROUGHT AREA]!” is most effective.

With our collective energies, we can control the weather a little.

Prompt: That “GNK” noise a person makes when they manage to sneeze with their mouth shut.

Brexx didn’t know what was wrong. The human ambassador spasmed suddenly and made a sort of Skngx! noise. Then she gasped for breath and went, Skngx! Skngx! Skngx! in rapid succession.

Brexx hit the panic button. “Human ambassador non-communicative. Making abbreviated noises of unknown meaning.”

Early morning, 1898…

The baby Petes were sleeping soundly. Making noise to wake up the babies was a time-out offense.

Ma and Pappy were sleeping soundly, too. That was bad.

Rabbit was bored.

Rabbit joined her automaton siblings. Watching Pappy breathe. It was still dark, so the lights from their eyes shone in his face.

Pappy screwed up his face. Squinted. Blinked and shielded his eyes. “Wh’t? Wh’z goin’ on?”

“Is it time to p-play, yet, Pappy?” Rabbit begged.

it’s important that we pay tribute to Leelah and Zander, but it’s also important that we pay tribute to the five trans women of color murdered in 2015 so far. I have seen next to nothing about these women. They are just as important as Leelah or Zander. They deserve the same recognition.

Steven Universe Theory

I think we are all are getting blind sided by the real problem about the Steven Universe thing. We think the Home World Gems are the ones to fear but were not looking at the bigger picture. The gems were expanding their armies way before the war we knew. The war here only started because it had sentient life on it, implying they were doing this on worlds before and just this one had life on it.
