I owe y'all two stories, today. Two starter sentences. And two WIP memes over on the Fediverse.
I'll be getting on with that very soon. But first - Riverfire!
Pro tip: Do not schedule a hair appointment in Caboolture on the same day you're plotting to see Riverfire. Just. Don't.
We wanted to see the jet flyover, but the traffic was INSANE. I couldn't even get to parking before sunset turned the sky dim. Poor Adorable had a fight over ill-timed alleged "support" from her internet company while we were stuck between cars that were stuck between other cars also trying to find a park.
Adorable's been trying to upgrade her internet package and the corporation has been swearing it's been done... and not actually doing that. On one hand, she managed to swing three month's free internet. On the other, she's given up on the upgrade because it's just not happening and too frustrating to make happen.
Fuck that body corp, I guess.
My heel hates me and has hated me since the last time I did Southbank Parkrun, so this parkrun was just as much "fun" as it has been for at least a month. So as you might expect, taking a walk from parking to a reasonably good vantage point was also "fun".
I posted up by a bridge support and winced a lot as Beloved and Adorable took the fireworks photos. I did manage to get ten minutes of footage, but... most of it is people's backs with bikes and scooters.
It was pretty, and loud, and pretty loud.
Onwards to the fiction. And then onwards to resting up.
