Technically Day Eight

We've completed a week of isolation out of the initial fortnight they expect us to stay away from everyone in order to flatten the curve. As one of the "at risk" folk, I'm staying the hell away from any kind of public place until all the news of corona dies down or a vaccine is invented, whichever comes first.

The Muppet is expecting people to be nice to him in order to gain support for the crisis. Translation: he's not doing his job. There's something egregiously wrong about expecting people to kiss your arse in order to do what you're expected to do.

He wants criminal investigations on him to end just so he can ensure that there's enough medical supplies to save lives. This is effectively holding his own country hostage so he can skate away from the consequences of his actions. Worse - his own party's given him the idea that this is OKAY... because they didn't impeach him for the earlier quid pro quo nonsense.

Intolerable.

Everything's shutting down, people coming into the country are shunted into hotels for two weeks' isolation. Sensible stuff. People are complaining about being shipped in busses after being in the same airplane or boat together. Yeesh.

...just like the 1920 plague, the administration is being stupid about the precautions that should be taken in this. The regular folks don't know how to stay apart and there's dedicated shopping hours for emergency service people and the elderly.

We're looking at ordering groceries online and, surprise surprise, everything is shut down.

This should not last. We're going to have to need to do this to keep the curve levelled. If it does last, there's going to be spot outbreaks that keep everyone indoors for even longer.

We need some gotdang sense in this nonsense. Wish I could smack it into the people in charge.
