Once more for clarity:
This is not an interactive experience
This is for aesthetic choices only
I had to figure out the game's "visual language" for making the birds placed by the game visually different from the ones placed by the player.
My thought for this: use the same language that's already present in the bird buttons. Birds in the grid that cannot be moved by the player will have darker surroundings than the ones that can be moved by the player.
My problem is that I went to all the trouble of making the metaphor of a meadow for the explanation of the game. I'd like it if the meadow still showed through.
So I made a series of transparencies for ease of readability and potential feedback.
From left to right, top to bottom:
- 100% Opacity
- 80% Opacity
- 75% Opacity
- 60% Opacity
- 50% Opacity
- 40% Opacity
- 25% Opacity
- 20% Opacity
- And finally, a player-placed bird for comparison purposes.
I did not bother with placing any of the buttons as that will be the NEXT aesthetic choice.
What I want to know is: Which one of the opaque birds would be best for a program-placed bird?
