What's the current leading theory (or theories) on the reason for human's species-wide insanity?

- Our political leaders, the things they say on record, and the fact that we keep electing the buggers [coughScabbottcough]
- Profits are more important than having crops [neocontids-v-bees]
- Profits are more important than the environment we need to live [looking at you Monsanto/BP]
- Profits are more important than having employees who can afford to buy your products [the minimum wage fiasco]
- Profits are more important than people [ALL Big Business]
- Red cabbage
- Figure skating
- A female celebrity’s cellulite will grab page 1 quicker than any natural disaster where people die
- Red onion
- All competitive sports
- We went to another planetoid before we put wheels on burdens heavy enough to physically damage us
- We have an industry dedicated to giving people eating disorders
- We create ghettos and persecute the people who have to live there, but idolise the people who created the circumstances that made the ghettos
- The continuing “war on poverty” that’s actually a war on poor people
- The fact that solar freaking roadways weren’t immediately adopted in the face of the continuing fossil fuel crisis
- The hole in the ozone layer and why it was ignored

- We tame predators and live with them
- Sometimes, we don’t even bother with the ‘taming’ part
- Predatory business practices and the laws put in place to protect them
