The Aftermath
I was careful with my cheat treats, yesterday. Staying in moderation means that I don't start the day with a massive asthma attack or a set of digits doing their Thick Snag Impersonation.
I am going REAL strict. Waiting as long as I can before having my salty broth. My beverage of choice is going to be filtered water.
We've already had our feast this week, so dinner is likely to be something wholesome and good according to the new regime. It looks like this:
[Shown here: a screencap of a list of forbidden foods]
For those who can't read the picture, I shall transcribe the list:
Grains: Barley, Bulgar, Buckwheat, Millet, Quinoa, Oats, Spelt, Wheat, Brown and white rice
Oils: Canola, Corn, Peanut, Grapeseed, Safflower, Cottonseed, Grape
Dairy: Milk, Kefir, Sour Cream, Frozen Yogurt, Cottage Cheese
Sweeteners: Agave, Artificial Sweeteners, Sugar, Sucralose
Legumes and Beans: Cacao beans, Mungbeans, Chickpeas, Peas, Peanuts, Kidney, Lentil, Soy
Vegetables: Corn, Cucumber, Eggplant, Pepper, Pumpkin, Squash, Zucchini, Tomatoes
Nuts: Almonds, Hazelnuts, Pine nuts, Cashews
Seeds: Chia, Pumpkin, Sunflower
Lots of this stuff is already on our no-no list. I get the sensation we'll be eating a lot of cabbage and kale with our mushrooms and maybe some small amount of carrots for colour.
I'm going to have to get creative with this. Bulletins as events warrant.
And speaking of unusual problems, check out the houseguest we entertained yesterday afternoon:
[Shown here: A blue-faced green tree snake resting on a decorative paper fan hanging on a blue wall. The fan features a river scene from Thailand, with boats, trees, and traditional houses.]
Snake! It's a snake. Oh no, it's a snake... (badger, badger, badger...)
This pretty little dickens is a green tree snake. Allegedly harmless. I say 'allegedly' because this is Australia. Green tree snakes can cause some allergic reactions with their bites. Best to stay cautious if you find one of these in your random corners.
One call to some nice people and $95 later, the snake was evicted by a trained professional. [I'm also running short, but not that short, so yay? I guess?]
