The self-publishing process is a bit of a wringer. The site I have decided on [economic benefit of epub: cheaper distribution equals potential for more sales] has some exacting document standards and I literally spent half a week tracking down the right software to get it done right.
Long story short, I was looking the wrong way and it only took half an hour to install and get flying. Yay.
The next pain in the arse is copy/pasting my works from my fave editor [Pages] to their fave editor [MSWord 97] and making sure all the formatting hits their standards and all the italics is where I want it and everything is spelled correctly…
Once you have an established account, though, it only takes minutes at most to upload and publish a new work.
I will look at your stuff. Just keep in mind that anything you say/show to an author can be taken in and used again in a later work. I do try not to steal from folks, but new ideas tend to pickle and mutate in the back of my mind :)
